Bara Velmar Physical Description Name: Bara Felmar Race: Human Age: 27 Birthday: Winter of 483 AV Standing 6 feet tall and weighing 175 lbs, Bara is quite scrawny. He has brown hair and green eyes. His nose is slightly bend to the right - in his younger years he would get beat up often because of his scrawny build and one of his bullies broke his nose in a scuffle. His hairstyle exists of wavy hair, almost curly, often trimmed and kept in shape. He carries a small beard which barely grows past a scruffle, so the required maintenance is minimal. His build comes off as skinny, mostly because of his small shoulders, however, his arms are quite muscular because of lifting boxes for his father - whom was a trader that travelled across Mizarahar. Bara has a fair amount of hair on his chest and across his belly. The hairs on his arms are dark and it's almost ape-like on his legs, but he never cares to trim it. Still embarrassed about his skinny body, yet proud of his muscular arms, he often wears baggy, sleeveless shirts. His trousers are tight and his shoes are ruffled. Although he prefers the color black, his lack of income force him to wear olive and grey colored clothes. Character Concept Bara lives with a great amount of passion, but lacks a certain grace in doing so. Raised by his mother, he possesses some feminine features. While not many men are intimidated by his appearance, he has a comforting allure which draws people toward him. Often perceived as charming, some experience Bara as manipulative - a con-artist, even. When overwhelmed with attention, Bara feels pressured easily and recluses himself from people. After an amount of time, however, he feels alone again and craves attention - a battle of needs he often struggles with. Bara's soul seeks romance. He often finds this in adventuring and the art of writing. Character History Mercenary Don Velmar would travel around Mizahar selling goods before he settled in Silyra to marry the young Rafaela Milanor. Don was a young lad and dreamed big. He had dark hair, often combed backwards. He was tall and quite handsome and a skilled trader, but always lacked the funds to fully support Rafaela. Rafaela was a beautiful young lady and men around Silyra would but not leave her alone. Marriage enquiries and sexual advances, she remained proud and kept her honor, however, refusing to put disgrace on her family's name. Rafaela was a tailor for the poor but was beautiful, nonetheless. She had long golden hair and a petit face. She was quickly swept away by the charming Don Velmar when he visited town. Rafaela's father was unimpressed with Don's lack of grace, but her mother soon convinced him when she too was charmed by the ragged traveller. Their first and only child was named Bara - a boy with the facial features of his mother and the fiery passion of his father. Although Bara and his parents did have shelter, Bara spent most of his days on the street and had barely any friends. He would steal to eat and con the boys around town to escape from the bullies, whom would terrorize him and oftentimes injure him badly. Bara's father would be away from home most times and so Rafaela took up the task to keep him off the streets. She would teach him how to read and write and it wasn't until long before he took up an interest in literature. As he grew older he started writing his own verses, mostly about the girls whom he would fancy around town. His first love affair was when he was 14 years old, with a girl of the same age. She had long brown hair and pretty, hazel eyes. She would take care of him when the bullies had attacked him again and he fell in love straight away. He wrote a verse for her and they would kiss in alleyways where her parents could not find her with a poor man's child. During a long winter, when Bara was 16 years old, his father had to stay home. The weather was too dangerous for him to travel and so he stayed home. As a travelling merchant, he was often confronted with lethal rogues and so he learned to pick up a sword from his own father. When home, he would teach Bara how to swing a blade and defend himself as he imagined his son would become a merchant. Bara hated fighting at first, but got riled up to practice with his dad after a while. They would fight with wooden swords and Bara was able to beat his father on his 18th birthday. When Bara turned 20, his father died in the field. He was lucky to survive so many years in his line of work, but he got ambushed by a pack of wolfs when out in the wild and was slaughtered when his traveling companions ran and left him for dead, like cowards. Bara was devastated as he loved both his mother and father. He always had a slight preference toward his mother, but the loss of his father hurt him deeply. He spent two years at home, writing poetry about his father, before he decided to help his mother make a living. He spent five years poaching around town, trying to earn money. He would buy something and sell it for more. He barely made an income, but it would give him something to eat now and then. When he was 25, his mother was 49, but she died of an intense flu. Struck with pain, he bought his own place, scared to live in a house he felt was haunted by the ghosts of his parents. He would make a living gambling, poaching, brawling in pubs(he would lose almost every time) but he got a tough skin and the bullies had taught him indirectly how to catch a blow or two. He would chase women, bed them and write verses about them, searching for love that existed only moments, while also looking for love he carried for his mother. No woman succeeded in doing so, although he seemed certain of one for a year: He met a woman when he was 26 named Arana, who's elegance was as highly attractive as her beauty. Her wit was outstanding and she offered Bara banter only few women could. Bara was a bright man and hard to beat in conversation. Arana, however, was - like most of Bara's women - the daughter of a wealthy family and they restricted them from seeing each other. Bara would sneak to her house and convince her to come with him, into the dark, where they could be together. She wrote many poems for her(he still owns all 30) and she loved him back. After a year, her father left for Ravok and took her with him. The goodbye was a tear and a kiss, nothing more and gone she was, leaving heartache with poor Bara. Sick of heartbreak and torment, Bara's spirit ached for adventure and he set course out of town, planning to see the world and meet new people. Bara's adventure starts here... Liaison Intervention

I’m Ghost, and I’m a Character Sheet Liaison. I’m here to help others with their Character Sheets and the Lore. There are two things you need to fix:

1) Your birthdate is wrong. We currently have Spring, 512 AV in Mizahar. So if you want him to be 27 years old, he needs to have been born in Spring, 485 AV or sometimes in 484 AV. You also need to state which day he was born.

2) A short sword actually only costs 10 gm. So please adjust your ledger.

3) You need to state what exactly your heirloom is.

4) You don’t have enough skillpoints. As a Human you get the standard 50 skill points that everybody gets and a bonus of 15 points that you can use for a skill of your choice.

5) Syliran is not a language. The people in Syliras speak Common. Check this page for a list of languages.

6) It’s Syliras, not Silyra.

7) “Lore of Literary Schooling at Home” is not an acceptable lore. Check this page for an explanation of lores.

8) You should also decide whether his last name is Felmar or Velmar.
