Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Windsinger Kites is a small beach level shop owned by an Akalak proprietor who is utterly and totally dedicated to kite enthusiasts. Built into the cliff though accessible by both the second and first tier walkways, Windsinger Kites has beach access and an expansive internal shop that both includes a showcase room and workshop. The showcase room has kites suspended from the ceilings, hung on walls, and even draped on long poles. The shop seems to always be filled with whirly gigs that are teased around by breezes that almost seem sentient in nature. A small counter for handing sales divides the showroom area from the workshop area.

The workshop area is filled with a workbench that wraps around the walls and racks of colorful silk, spools of string, bottles of glue, adhesive and racks and racks of wood. Partially assembled kites and experimental trial kites are stowed neatly here and there. The workshop, unlike the showroom, is always a chaotic mess. But regardless of how messy it is, happy voices echo from its depths always.

Outside the shop, tethered to whatever driftwood is currently washed up on the beach, are huge kites are tied with sturdy ropes advertising the shop and its presence.

PoB: Riverfall
Title: Kitemaster
Skills: Kite Building 90, Kite Flying 76, Construction 54, Knotwork 35, Engineering 49
Gnosis: Zulrav 2

Kenneth and his brother Rarmor come from a long line of kite makers and engineers. They love flying kites and spend their days designing new kites and teaching people about them. Almost childlike in their joy, the pair worship Zulrav and coordinate at the Stormtower when they aren't building kites and holding festivals.

Kenneth is the brother who really enjoys flying kites while Rarmor is the one that really enjoys designing them. Both, however, will talk kites day in and day out if you let them. The Kite shop is always looking for help as well because more often than naught the brothers have to close it and put a sign on the door saying "Gone flying..."

Single Line
Single line kites come in hundreds of different designs and sizes, ranging from smaller than 1 foot to over 10 feet in size. The design of today's modern kites is better than ever, making flying your kite easy and trouble free. Single line kites can be single skin (flat) or ram-air design (double layered with an air pocket). Single line kites usually have a multi line bridle that connects the kite to a single line that the kite flyer hangs onto. Single line kites can have a rigid frame or can be soft without any frame.

Sled, Diamond, and DeltaKites: 2 SM - 20 GM
Animal Kites: 2 GM - 10 GM
Box: 5 SM - 10 GM

Dual Line
Dual line kites are easy to fly and easy to launch, and can be controlled and flown in virtually any direction the flyer wishes. Landing your dual line kite will usually take a bit of practice at first, but can be mastered pretty quickly. Launching your dual line kite in the air usually only requires a firm tug on the lines and your off. Bridle adjustments are critical and pre-set at the factory. Adjustments are usually only needed in the event of a warn or broken line. Dual line kites are designed for either stunt flying for tricks and maneuvers, or for power/traction flying for buggying, surfing or just to drag you around on the grass. Like single line kites, dual line kites come in many different designs, colors, and sizes. Dual line stunt kites are fast, some of them are capable of reaching speeds well over 50 MPH. Dual line power kites can generate extreme amounts of pulling power and can reach sizes larger than a horse.

Stunt Kites: 3 GM - 100 GM
Power Kites: 5 GM - 50 GM

[Riverfall Location] Windsinger Kites

Kavala had never been to the kite shop before. She'd heard, however, that it was the place to get flags made and she wanted one to be done for The Sanctuary. Plus, she wanted to check out the kites and see if there wasn't some she could pick up that the children might enjoy playing with on the beach. Upon entering, the place was overwhelming with its color and gaiety. Kavala roamed from one kite to another and delighted in their designs. She even paused at the windsocks, wondering how amazing of training devices for the horses they'd make. When she got to the flag selection, Kavala was even more impressed. This was, after all, the reason she'd dropped in.

She had a rolled parchment in her hand of the design she wanted for the flag, so it made it easy doing dealings with Kenneth Avinal when he asked her what he could do to help. Handing him her design, she asked for a kite to be made and he readily agreed. She left the design with him and agreed to pick up the flag when it was finished or else have it delivered to The Sanctuary where they could display it proudly.

But on her way out, she couldn't help but pick up several windsocks, banners, and kites for the Sanctuary. She could store the kites in the cave for the children and adults plus hang the windsocks around to help desensitize the horses to fluttering fabric.

She left with a big smile and couldn't wait to get home to show Tasival what she'd brought him and the twins. Even Riaris' little sister's had gifts for when they next visited and the wind was up.
