Elayne of the Konti sat upon a low wall, it's texture was rough against her soft gown as she watched the town of Riverfall go about their business, she felt out of place as there were so many men and out of all of the population she would see maybe a woman ever 4 or 5 minutes.

Elayne was not unusual in Riverfall, at least by her origins. Often a konti woman would find themselves a mate but rarely did they stay in Riverfall long. The breeding patterns of the Konti and Akalak were opposing, a konti would only birth a woman in the same form as Elayne while an Akalak would create a blue skinned warrior, only these two races meeting in passion could produce any other results.

As a Konti woman any where else she would be watched with awe, so few people across Mizahar would not of seen a Konti woman, their ethereal alien beauty. Their pale scaled flesh and their gifts, often those in power in a region would know of the Konti as a Konti's calling would lead them to use their gifts to advice those in power, that is what Elayne was trying to do. She wanted to find herself a mate, but not a breeding mate. A life mate. She wanted a husband and she also wanted to advice one of the elders of the Akalak, to use her gift for their needs. She was so wrapped up in her thoughts she was oblivious to everyone around her ...

[Kavala]

Tasival squirmed in his backpack as she walked along the pathway that followed a narrow stone wall. Having had an appointment in town, Kavala held her meeting and was thinking of doing some shopping in the bazaar before heading home. The sky was bright, which was unusual in a season that usually threatened rain in Riverfall. But the wind was cool enough she and her son were bundled contentedly in warm wool coats as they traveled.

Kavala took comfort in visiting the city. People treated her with courtesy and the fact that there were other Konti here comforted her. She felt a sisterly kinship with them that left a lot of breathing rooms for friendships to happen. Riverfall wasn't like Mura, swarming with Konti, but there were a few. And Kavala tried to make it a point to meet them when and where she could. And while it was unusual to see many women in Riverfall, it was far from strange to find a Konti perched somewhere unusual looking overwhelmed or at least slightly confused.

So when Kavala spotted the lone girl sitting on the low stone wall Kavala was traveling along, she paused to offer the girl her time. "A copper for your thoughts." Kavala said softly, not wanting to interrupt the girls train of thinking. "You look slightly overwhelmed. Have you just arrived or always lived here?" Kavala asked, curious. More and more Konti had been called to Riverfall lately, so much so their ranks were swelling.

"I'm Kavala. This is my son Tasival. We've lived here a while now, but you still don't get exactly used to how different it is." She added, shifting, since the toddler on her back was almost at the cusp of being too big to pack around.
