Mizahar site migration - April 8th

Hello Mizaharians,

on April 8th, 2012 (Easter) I am going to be transferring our website to a new, bigger server. This one has served us well over the past two years, but we're running out of disk space, courtesy of all you people posting threads and uploading pictures.

Last time we did a migration, I finished in about 30 minutes, plus the time it takes for the internet to recognize that our domain now points at a new address - a few hours at most for the vast majority of users. This time it could take a little longer as our databases are way larger and there's a ton of stuff to transfer, but the site is already working on the new machine, albeit with a week-old backup of our data. I'll try to pick a time with the lowest amount of people on the boards. You'll see a notice telling you that the website is now read-only. When the notice is gone, you'll be on the new server and ready to post. When that happens, I recommend clearing your cache as well as your Mizahar cookies... those tend to be the only sources of trouble.

Thanks for all the time and effort you put in migrating the site. I know we've put it off for a year now and finally with this new server we'll be able to grow as we need too. But seriously.. thank you so much for all the effort you put into our behind the scenes doings. I think very few people realize how much work its been or how much you've had to learn along the way.

Someone new said just the other day... which spawned another thing I said to you earlier this week... "This site looks like a cooperation owns it... like its professionally done." I told the new person it was professionally done. Tarot was our professional. So truthfully, everything here we owe to you and your wonderful coding.

When he talks about your cache and miza cookies it means the places you've bookmarked or put in favorites to get to easier. Those will have to be removed by clicking the clear cache and remove/delete cookies button and redoing each one. *read only means you can see the board, but can't post yet.*
