Eridanus finished the last of his report, replacing the quill back on his desk and giving a sigh of relief as he leaned back into his chair. The city was a mess after the whole djed storm and monster invasion fiasco, and the many illusions in the city were wonky. He had just returned from an inspection with a higher ranked agent and was expected to prepare a written report for that mission.
He did not quite expect to handle this amount of paperwork. He supposed that it made sense for a government agency, no matter how secret, to have a sense of accountability in the form of a paper trail, but he was still not used to it. He was a person of action, and honestly speaking having to sit down and write after every mission was mind-numbing.
The only benefit he could foresee was that the downtime forced him to spend at least a moment of reflection, for his mind often wondered while he was taking care of the less mentally intensive paperwork like copying notes and filing. Rolling the report up into a scroll, he stood up from his desk, passing by that agent's cubicle and handing him the report wordlessly.
At least that agent bothered to give a nod of gratitude, unlike some of the snooty higher-ups.
