We went to stay with family who had power, and my phone sometimes still had internet when it felt like getting a signal. It wasn't too bad, but when staying with family I had little time to be 'round the computer since there were cousins to play with and swimming to do.

So, my posting is slow. I feel like I should apologize for that, but things are ... happening here. Family things. Work things. Marriage things. Things. It's a lot to detail and share, but I've been forced to come to the conclusion that I need to re-assess my priorities in general. That doesn't mean I'll stop posting entirely, but it does mean I need to shift my focus. I put entirely too much focus here, mostly because working for myself often left me feeling alone and it's nice to not feel alone when you're around great people on the internets. It's easy to radiate toward something that feels so much like activity, even when it leads to inactivity in the important places of daily living. It's not an uncommon theme in my life, but one I find myself constantly having to relearn and rectify.
I've got replies to catch up on, so I'll do my best with those.
Right now, we've been talking of moving to a bigger city, of getting a full-time job again to get settled in and make contacts, of finally finishing up the letterpress in a town with more of an appreciation for all things creative than ours. My leads here in terms of freelance have slowed down a bit, which could be the season, or it could just be the location. I haven't been tending that fire as much as I should, in terms of seeking new work, so part of that is my fault.
I live and work at home, but my family seems to miss me. I need to fix that, too. It's easy for me to feel "busy" but not actually be doing what I should be.
Anyway, all that to say I need some breathing room. Here, at least. I'm happy to post and reply and start new threads, just not at a dizzying pace. I need to be careful of where I choose to invest too much of my time, lest I miss out on things happening around me away from the computer.
