Hey there.

My name is Ravus, and my real name is - well, if I told you my real name, you'd never be able to pronounce it or even remember or recognize it probably, so . . .

Moving on! So far, this site has proven to be rather complicated. I've never seen anything like it. An entire world within one site is an incredible idea! I managed to find Mizahar just by goofing off on the internet, as I tend to find most things this way. I've been RPing for about two or three years now. My longest posts are around 500 words, and I rarely post anything below 50-75 words [unless other people are writing short posts and then I seem to have a lack of motivation and detail from which to further the thread]. I hope to make longer posts, though, and improve my writing through RPing. I used to be on another site, but I left because people were posting such short RP replies that it was getting a bit irritating. Before I was even on the internet, I RPed with friends over the email or just RPed by myself [rather slow and dull if you ask me]. Other than RPing, I write on my own - essays, poems, stories [fantasy and sci-fi], etc. I adore people who can write amazing profiles and twisting plots. It looks like I've met the masters here - everyone else I've seen is rather . . . um . . . boring compared to you guys. I saw Oluse's profile, and my jaw dropped [okay, not really, but you get the point . . . ]. I've posted a little bit of a CS already - which is not a good example of my work since I really have no idea what I'm doing yet - but my RP profiles have never been as long as Oluse's [probably because the characters weren't involved in such a big world as is used here, but also probably because I'm seriously not amazing at writing. People call me a master, but I'm far from it - especially compared to what I've seen from you people so far]. Writing has been a life-long passion in my short, weird life, and I've tried several times to write novels [one of which is in the editing process right now. Hopefully I can get it published someday].

Anyhow, since I've kind of thrown myself in at the deep end here [or at least it feels like it], I'm lost - probably mostly because of the change in scenery. This is probably the most frustrating thing - Mizahar is so big, so awesome, but it's so hard to learn. At first, at least. I'm reading all the introduction articles and stuff, but I'm a little rusty on studying fantastical worlds that I'm having a bit of a hard time understanding. I haven't studied Arda in about three years, so it's been a while . . . Not to worry, though. I'll get the hang of it soon . . . I hope. If not, please have patience. I'll try to understand quickly!

And, by the way, as I mentioned before - I'm not a master writer. My friends call me that, but they don't know the meaning of the word master, and I'm probably mincemeat compared to you guys, so, also, please have patience as I [try to] catch up with all of you!

I know what you mean. It took me three months before I even attempted a character. Its long and complicated and completely worth it. Don't worry, the people here are great and very good at pointing you in the right direction. I suggest looking at the Questions and Answers thread, the Kelvic thread and the Starting Package as starters. The rest is trial, error and clicking on random links and finding something new.

And all the races and locations are very very detailed. Honestly, there is a separate sheet for everything from individual monsters to dog and horse breeds. So I would suggest looking over the Kelvic sheet carefully and doing some research into what city you would like to start out in.

It sounds like your an excellent writer (with a hell of a lot of practice) and I can't wait to see what kind of character you come up with!

Keep me posted, if you can.

Well, Rhy posted some really good links, so yeah, read those. Most questions can be answered as Mizahar has some very extensive write-ups on the races, skills, and Gods etc. Kelvic's can be a bit tricky, because you're an animal that can take on a human form, not the other way around. Lots of folks have their age way off due to this fact, since they age like their animal counter parts.

The posts around Mizahar are typically quite lengthy, all things considered. The more you give your partner to work with, the more you'll probably receive. Either way you should have no lack of words to read while you're here.

Anyways, good luck and have fun!
