Tock's interest grew when the man said he worked in the ironworks. That was far more interesting to her than a Knight, and she suddenly didn't have to fake her interest in him anymore. As their drinks arrived she knocked hers back like an old pro, having been drinking since a young age in Sunberth. Then she leaned forward a bit and laid her hand on the young man's arm. "Whatcha done makes down 'ere?" she asked him with genuine interest. "Jus' swords, o' all kinds o' stuff? I done been enchantin' somma 'ose swords, aye? Mebbe I done puts some magic what in one o' the swords what ya done forged, aye?" she snickered. "'At'd be mighty fine an' funny, weren't she?" Her boss, Archimaneus, made Magecrafted weapons exclusively for the Syliran Knights. Part of her work (on the rare occasions the old fart actually let her do some good hands on stuff) involved helping him with the process of infusing Djed into the weapons. Though the rest of the time she ran errands for him, which was how she'd met Syrah to begin with. She waved the bartender over for another drink, having finished her first one quite fast. "Aye, I done makes all kinds o' stuff," she said with no small trace of pride. "I done were a woodcarver, an' I makes some gadgets 'ere an' 'ere. An' been 'elpin' the Bossman Animated up some assistant Golems what fer the shop..." She suspected Archimaneus would prefer a Golem assistant to having her as his apprentice, and wondered if he'd be canning her once it was completed. Not that she particularly liked working for him... and dealing with that damn cat. She seriously wanted to stuff that thing in a furnace one day. "So, mate," she said to Marcus with a wink, "whatcha done made what's good, aye?" |
