It's good to have a friend to tell secrets(Rayage/Flashback)

The sadistic World Witch, Sayge, spent hundreds of years perfecting her crafts and studying. But recently over the past two years Sayge has been speaking to a man. She's been so absorbed into the human part she's been playing that at times she forgot what she truely was, something evil. Day after day all Sayge could think of was that man. How would he react if he knew he was speaking with something like Sayge?

The Nuit made her way through her home land of Zeltiva, wearing that trademark silk white dress, and her long hair kept out straight. Looking at the ground she asked herself Should I tell him? Why am I even getting these feelings. This hasn't happened to me before. I shouldn't even be thinking like this I'm hundreds of years older than this child. Sayge stopped, she saw him. Ray. Ray is what she loved to call the human. It's the name he said she could call him.

Walking over to him fast Sayge forced a fake smile on her face. He was taller than her, and pretty built. Just the way Sayge liked them. Sayge couldn't explain why she keep going to this human or felt that she needed to be with him. It was an emotion she hasn't felt in three hundred and eighty one years. One she didn't think she was capable of feeling ever again. To Sayge, Ray looked ever so graceful. He was pale white.

Sayge looked Ray into the eyes and began to speak very quickly with a tone rarely ever used, fear. The fear that Ray wouldn't want to be around Sayge anymore after she tells him exactly what she is. The World Witch inhales and exhales quickly.

"Ray, I have to confess. I'm not what you think I am. The truth is....I'm nothing but a monster. A monster that kills people and takes my victims bodies. A monster that uses magic to bring bodily harm, mental harm, and utter destruction to anything and everything around me. Ray, I.....Care about you."

Care, that was a word Sayge didn't know still existed in her vocabulary. She shocked herself. Her eyes were wide open. She waited, but then decided to add two cents in to plead her case. She fully expected that the human would either try to harm her or run away. The Nuit frowned at the thought of losing the one thing that made her 'slightly' happy.

"I can't keep lying to you, you trusted me for two years....If you dislike me or want to hurt me I understand, Ray.

There was one thing that Ray isn’t, and that is dim. The Alchemist liked to plan ahead, and manipulate the flow of change. It was exactly for that reason he started talking to the one named Sayge. The alchemist was perceptive and liked to believe that with long enough exposure to a certain someone he would find out all their secrets. That is what he has been working towards, playing into the misconceptions of the woman of who he conversed, the whole time knowing her secret. They say it takes one to know one, and Ray was a nuit indeed. He did not see how the other would think he was a human, but he played along. Not everyone had the sight he did, not everyone possessed the magic of Auristics, the sight beyond sight, the sense beyond sense.

Including Alchemy, Ray was also familiar with other magics as well, such as Auristics, Shielding, and Glyphing. He used the magics to his full advantage, being ever watchful and careful. He was mostly a closet wizard, but Alchemy, that was no secret. In fact, he taught at the prestigious and world Renown University. Zeltiva had become his temporary home, a place of sanctuary while he continued his research in relative peace, and peaceful it has been in between the adventures that he seemed to have gotten himself into. He highly doubted that his definition of peace was the same as the humans, but they would survive, as he had over hundreds of years.

Though as he walked through the streets of Zeltiva, heading back to the University of which he taught Alchemy at, Sayge quickly found him. Perfect. He looked at her, turning his head slightly down so he could watch and listen to her as she talked. She sounded troubled, and that troubled Rayage. He offered her a smile and placed a cold hand on her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. He had to play his part as well, you know? ”My dear,” he started, ”Please, slow down.” he said, sounding slightly confused as to why all of a sudden she would come to him in a state like this, ”Everything will be alright.” he told her with confidence. Djed welling up inside him, the nuit mentally summoning it and tasking it with one purpose: To calm. He shaped and molded the djed with his will and intent alone, and then as he talked he released it influence, his words being laced a subtle hypnotic feeling of calm. An artificial feeling, but a feeling nonetheless. He wondered if he could get her to calm down a bit and perhaps relay her story more reliably. So he continued on, ”You know that whatever you do I can never hate or dislike you.” he said, looking into her eyes.

”There is nothing in this world that you could do to get me to hate you. Magic, so what?” he asked, ”You know that I am an Alchemist.” he never took his eyes off of her. He wanted to be sure what he was doing was working. He was watching her, observing her body language, and trying to deduce what to do next from that, ”And, I know you.” he said, ”and you are no monster” he laughed, ”Ive seen monsters before.” he said, this being all too true. For having lived as long as he had the darker and more monstrous side of the world became apparent. ”Have I ever told you about the Journeyman I ran into in one of my adventures?” he asked her, ”Now, those are real monsters… Well, according to Evalin at least.” Evalin being the mage who had assisted him in that great adventure many years ago.

”How about we go to my office and talk things out there?” he suggested, pushing her along at a faster pace, ”Its more private than the streets of Zeltiva.”

It's good to have a friend to tell secrets(Rayage/Flashback)

Winter 13th, 405
Sayge went on and on until Ray placed that hand on her shoulder. The Nuit Witch could feel Ray's hand, it felt like ice to her. That was step one, she fell silent. Looking into Rayage's eyes. Her lips touched one another and she looked Ray in the eyes. He had a way with words, when he spoke Sayge felt welcome. She felt safe. There were so many feelings that she hasn't felt since she was actually alive that she'd felt when talking to Ray.

The Nuit felt a wave of warmth through Ray's words. She calmed down almost instantly. Her eyes got lower. Everything was normally fast paced with Sayge but not this time.

No one has ever said they wouldn't hate or dislike Sayge before. It was different. It was almost as if Sayge was speaking to her beloved boyfriend, who passed away two hundred and eighty years ago. Sayge remembered the day her boyfriend died like it was yesterday. She couldn't forget it. Every last detail was buried in her head.

Then, a light laugh and smile. Sayge paid full attention to Rayage mentioning the Journeyman. The Nuit's left hand found it's way up to her hair. Pulling on the red locks softly. She then walked with Ray at a fast pace. "Yes, that's a good idea. We should talk in private." Sayge kept a smile on her face letting Ray lead the way. "No one ever said they didn't hate me before. NO one ever said I wasn't a monster. You have a kind heart." Sayge said softly. It was obvious that Sayge still had no clue that Ray was a Nuit.

As they walked along the nuit inwardly smiled as well. Did he really like making the other feel happy? It was slightly confusing and concerning for him, but he did his best to stay off those emotions that humans have. Though… he, himself, was once human he need not be reminded of the weaknesses that they have. If he would allow himself to fall in love, to even get any sort of attachment to the other, she could become a weakness, a folly of his, and he would not allow that to happen. He wouldn’t make himself feeble in that way. No, never again.

”No one has ever said those things before?” he asked thinking of kind words to say. They slipped out poison, lacing everything with sweets, ”Well then, they certainly don’t know how to treat a lady.” he told her nodding vigorously agreeing with himself, ”In the end, we are just trying to live our lives. You know,” he said glancing at her, ”no one is as good or as bad as you think they are. People should reevaluate their thinking and motivations. I mean,” he stammered a little, his mind going faster than his tongue would allow, ”everyone and everything has its own reason for being. Just accept that, and move past it. What is done is done, you know?” he asked feeling slightly awkward as he walked. This was so far from his normal philosophy, but he tried.

Kindness really didn’t play into the factor, and he continued walking with her until they reached the University. Entering the building he led her through the halls until they finally reached his office. Opening the door with a quick turn of the key he held it open and waited for her to cross the threshold before coming in himself. Behind him, he closed and relocked the door, ”I suspect that we want the upmost privacy. This way we won’t be interrupted.” he said as if he had to explain himself.

His office wasn’t the biggest, but it wasn’t the smallest either. He had a nice size space, and in it was a simple desk with some seats. Not nearly as fancy as the other offices, but it suited his needs and status at the college. Papers were skewed across the surface of the desk, and Ray pulled out a couple of chairs, offering one to Sayage, ”So, my dear,” he said, ”What is it that you wanted to tell me?” he asked. ”You must have something on your mind, else you wouldn’t have said anything.” he watched her, ”You’re no monster, and I want you to know that.” he said with a smile.
