The massive stretch of desert that overwhelms Eyktol. Here, a man's water is worth more than his life, and the burying sands are the unfortunate's mute undertaker.

An Unprecedented Journey

Seirysu: Good! Those will work just fine.

He steps forward, taking precaution in how he treads ahead. The two men stand to their feet weapons drawn! They weren't friendly, pointing their weapons forward, signaling Seirysu to stop and he did so putting his hands in the air in as a peaceful gesture.

Seirysu: I'm not here to harm you. How about we talk about things? Get to know each other and such.

The one of the men walks and examines Seirysu from a distance, he talks with his companion while whispering, making sure that none of which was said wasn't heard, they both then stare at Seirysu they knew something was up but what exactly? They knew not!

An Unprecedented Journey

Postby Sebastion on July 21st, 2012, 12:14 pm

The Pycon looked up eagerly at the men, hoping they were Benshira, who he had heard were a quite open and friendly people, like his Konti of Mura. The number of arms, however, made the Pycon realize that they were Eypharians. They would know the fastest way back to Ahnatep, to be sure, but the Pycon was fairly sure that he was on one of the lowest rungs of the Ahnatep societal ladder.

He was about to open his mouth to contribute to the conversation when he took in his new companion for the first time. He was a Dhani! This could work a bit in their favor, yes, yes it could, for he was a bit above the Pycon in the status of the sandy city. The Pycon looked encouragingly at his friend and remained quite, calming the low growls of Snowflake in order to not stir up any more anxiety from these clearly off put strangers. If anyone could convince these men of their peaceable intentions, it would have to be his new Dhani friend. If not? Well Shim certainly hadn't had enough practice with his Blowgun as of late, had he?

Seirysu: Good! I'm happy that you've decided to listen to my requests but I hate to tell you something. Trust me, I'm unarmed!

Seirysu was clearly thinking of something as he hides both of his hands in the sleeves of his cloak, it was a simple technique he would deploy in this brief moment. He wasn't sure how he would and when he would deploy this technique, it was only a matter of patience and good timing and all he had to do was stall for time.

Seirysu: Now, since we've got closer to each other...

Seirysu with a swift kick of his foot, sends sand flying into the eyes of the two men, they were clearly enraged as they flailed they weapons in the air, they nearly hit Seirysu before he jumps back and begins to run back the Sebastion.

Seirysu: Time to go my friend! I have a plan but first we must get ahead of those two.

He says as he runs past Sebastion.

How exciting! The men were quite wary as his new companion approached, but clearly still taken by surprise as the sand got up into their eyes. Odd, thought the Pycon, Shim would think people who lived their whole lives surrounded by sand would not be so alarmed by it. He shrugged, they were certainly in for a merry chase now, weren't they?

Following Seirysu's lead, the Pycon tapped Snowflake's sides twice in rapid succession with both feet to indicate a more hurried pace. As he did this the little clay man swung around 180 degrees in the saddle pad, making sure his legs were snug under the straps so that he was facing the Eypharians. Blowgun in hand he steadied it as Snowflake's form bumped and rolled beneath him. Shim regretted that his darts were not tipped with anything at present, he had been hoping to find some plants of use in the desert, but had found nothing as of yet to contribute to his herbal knowledge or give the darts a little bite. Regardless, shooting multiple tiny needles into one's flesh was not a completely usless enterprise, and he readied himself for the inevitable counter-attack that these men would surely engage in. The Pycon kept his head at an odd angle almost perpendicular to his neck to try to catch sight of what Seirysu was planning.

Bandit 1: Get back here! Damn it, there's sand in my eyes! You got get them while I go get the others.

Bandit 2: Sure whatever, I'll make sure there's nothing of them!

The two men part ways, one leaving to get back up and the other to chase Seirysu and Sebastion! He was a tad bit of a late starter and was greatly behind in the chase; however, that didn't stop him! He continued in the chase and pursued his two targets who were greatly ahead of him as he shouts.

Bandit 2: Get back here, cowards!

Seirysu stops, turning to face the man now some distance from his companion. A smile appears across his face as he turns around and unsheathes his katana from his cloak; things couldn't get any easier now since those two bandits unwisely decided to separate from each other. Seirysu then looks towards Sebastion and gives him a gentle nod, signalling him in a sort to prepare for battle!

'Others', Shim stored this bit of information away. Others could be anywhere from 2 to a dozen. No, a dozen would take up too many supplies, would imply a long journey, and neither of these men seemed outfitted for a long journey. Of course they could be scouts, but they were violent scouts, which meant bandits, not just regular racist Eypharians. Shim had never known bandits to get along in groups more than 7 or so, but wait, Shim didn't know any bandits at all! He chuckled to himself. Wait that was untrue, he knew two now! He giggled, a sound which came out deep and throaty, and waved with one hand to the bandit as he charged forward towards them.

Greetings Bandit! Shim's full name is Sebastion Hyacinth Isabella Mordecai, what is yours?

Of course Seirysu and he had now stopped and were waiting for the attacker to catch up. Snowflake made an effort to turn around, but Shim stopped her with a scuff of his right heel, he wouldn't be able to aim very well if she was moving herself about. His clay head adjusted to face the attacker and his blow gun lowered. he aimed for the eyes, since humanoids seemed to have extremely useless jelly in that area instead of tough clay. His dart missed, sticking into the man's shoulder, easily piercing the light cotton clothes he wore. He readied another, aiming for the eyes again, but this one just bounced off somewhere in the chest area. My word he was so bad at this! He grinned, good thing he was getting some practice in. He readied another dart but the bandit was throwing himself at Seirysu, and the Pycon was eager to see how the Dhani would combat the extra limbs. Snowflake was getting extremely agitated beneath him, not being able to face the present danger.

An Unprecedented Journey

Postby Seirysu on August 3rd, 2012, 7:09 pm

A gentle voice calls upon you. The traveling winds of this land, lend me your strength! Hear my cry.'' Chanted Seirysu.

Wind gathered around his palm, he focused letting his mind flow like the wind as he meditated in his mind. The gathered wind begins to rotate at a faster rate, releasing a faint screeching pitch of sound! Seirysu, sweeps his palm horizontally in the air in front of him and released a thin blade of wind, it could barely be seen with all the sand being kicked into the air. Seirysu, then riskily runs behind the blade of wind while traveling through the sand cloud, it had created while holding his katana now in his left hand.

The hell is up with all that sand, is it a sand storm?'' Said the Bandit.

He was now running head on the blade of wind; he couldn't see it until it was too late. The blade of wind cleaves into the right side of his body, as Seirysu delivers a precise horizontal slash on the left side of the bandits neck before barreling rolling and jumping to his feet.

Wha.. What just happened?'' Said the bandit.

Blood gushed from the left side of his neck and the right side of his body! The neck wound was shallow but enough to that it had cut a single vein for Seirysu that was a very hard thing to do especially when he wasn't aiming to killing the man. The bandit falls to the ground, blood was pouring from his neck at an alarming rate similar to a blood fountain of sorts as Seirysu observes him from afar, feeling a bit sad for the poor Eypharian.

Darts, some kind of invisible sword cut me and now I’m bleeding from the neck faced down in the sand!’’ Said the bandit displeased by his easy defeat.

An Unprecedented Journey

Shim's dark eyes widened at the sight of his companion's magical attack. Simply spectacular!. The little clay man set another dart into his blowgun, carefully watching the bandit move, writhing in pain as he collapsed to the ground. He shot out another dart, aimed one final time for the eyes as a final blow. Yet again his aim was not quite where he had meant it to be, but the dart slid into the man's throat, and his next cry was choked, blood spilling up out of his mouth from the large wound he had already suffered. Shim then shifted about, rotating so that he was facing the correct way on Snowflake and turning his gaze to Seirysu.

Shim imagines that there are two courses of action. His combat skills seem to pale in comparison to his new Dhani friend, but mayhaps we could fight off the bandits if they came. Or, and Shim is more in line to take this second option, we could flee from the oncoming attackers. Shim has calculated that the odds are not in favor of overcoming the new forces a second bandit may bring with him. But since Seirysu is the more experienced person here, Shim will allow you to decided which course of action for us to take.

Snowflake panted wearily, tired from the journey, despite the fact she had been doing nothing but standing tensely during the brief encounter. Shim glanced worriedly at the sky, then back at the Dhani.

And perhaps we should decide quickly.

An Unprecedented Journey

Postby Seirysu on August 10th, 2012, 7:18 am

We will get out of here quickly! Possibly set camp somewhere further from here. We'll have to resort to hiding possibly near one of those rocky outcroppings I passed before meeting with you, it was deep enough to make several shelters inside it... I suggest we go there and hide till the threat vanishes.'' Said Seirysu.

He quickly swipes the blade of his sword in the air, blood is flung from the blade before his wipes it completely from the blade. He sheathes his sword and begins to survey the surroundings, he discovers a small rocky outcropping just below the dune, it was large enough to hide in; he slides down the side of the dune to check inside for any dangers, he see's nothing silently signals Sebastian to approach.

An Unprecedented Journey

Shim watched the Dhani's movements closely, head rotating manically this way and that, ready to flee at the first sign of more bandits. The Eypharian raised one hand, and Shim wondered if it was a gesture of farewell, or some sign of struggle in the inevitable painful last moments that the man was clearly experiencing. Shim tried to draw up some vestige of pity from the depths of his stone stomach to proffer up to the bandit in his final moments, but all he could feel was emptiness. The man had had violent intentions from the start, even if Seirysu had not given a lot of leeway for peaceful discussion, and there was something quite satisfying to the little clay man watching the sand absorb the pool of crimson that leaked from the man at an alarming rate. There were times where the Pycon envied those of flesh, their size and strength, as well as their other unique traits, but this was not one of those times.

Snowflake snorted beneath him and his gaze was drawn from its reverie on the dying man back to his companion. Whatever shelter the Dhani had found was clearly safe, at least for now. The Pycon urged the sled dog forward, and she half tumbled, half sprinted down into the dark recess of the cave. Shim immediately dismounted and guided Snow far enough into the cave to reach the darkest shadows. It was not cool, by any means, but the canine's relief was noticeable and Shim quickly unhooked one of the leather water bags and let the dog take a few gulps before hitching it back to the pack.

Having tended to the most pressing of matters the Pycon took stock of his surroundings. The rocks were just as dry as the surrounding desert, and emanated a faint heat absorbed from above. His small hands ran along the rocks as if trying to find something. The cave went deeper, though Shim was not sure how much so, and he did catch sight of a few dried and long dead wisps of plants sticking from various points in the rock face. He roved the outer part of the cave mouth for a few more minutes before he was satisfied that his God had left no signs for him to follow, at least not here. The Pycon mused for a moment still wondering precisely what knowledge Harameus had imparted to him in that cave in Mura. He still didn't fully understand it. He turned his left hand over to gaze at the intricate glowing pattern and blinked. Had it...changed? He could have sworn that symbol their, the one for unity, hadn't been their before, and had replaced another. Shim shrugged: it would be just like Harameus to have a Gnosis mark that changes subtly just like the changes he invoked. Shim would have to keep a better eye on his mark, perhaps record the changes, maybe they were the key to unlocking his new knowledge.

The Pycon glanced up to Seirysu. They had only known each other for a short time, but the clay man felt indebted to him for all the valuable help he had already provided him on his journey. He bowed his head a little in thanks to Harameus for guiding him to the Dhani, then folded his arms behind his back and smiled up at Seirysu. Before he spoke he made sure to make his voice a bit quieter than it normally was. There would be bandits on their doorstep soon enough. A thought occurred to him that their footsteps in the sand might be followed when a giant gust of wind blew a heap of sand into the cave, causing Snowflake to cough and sputter, and the thought drifted from Shim's mind as soon as it had arrived.

We seem to have escaped immediate danger for now Dhani Seirysu, in thanks much to you.

Shim bowed a little to the giant man.

Shim is very grateful for your help thus far in his journey, and is very glad Harameus brought Shim and he together!

He put a clay hand over his mouth, embarrassed. He was supposed to be keeping quiet! What would his Grandmother say? Ah Yes: If your mind is as loud as your yapping, I can't fathom how you can even function. He tried again, this time Seirysu would have to lean in close to hear the little Pycon, so quiet was his whisper in his attempt to maintain the secrecy of their location.

This cave goes a little deeper, might it be wise to move back so we cannot be spotted from the entrance?
