Summer 3rd, 512AV

Septimus lingered in the stables, examining the horses. "Hello guys. Nice to see some of my species around. I don't believe they offer riding lessons here, do they? A Colorsplash horse poked his head out of a stall then replied "Nope. I'm afraid you're in the wrong place. Only buying and selling here. Hey, you speak horse!" She let out a frustrated breath. "Yes, Kelvic Gift. Thank you for your time." To anyone who cared to pay attention to her, it probably sounded to them like a bunch of whinnies and snorts. To her, it was practically her second common and was most definitely a gift.

She picked up her red dress then walked over to a wooden post then leaned up against it. Quite a few other people were looking at horses and she even managed to witness a purchase of a Mixed Breed horse. She looked at the stall beside her to see an old black Colorsplash "Everything good, sir?" The horse lifted it's head then looked at her "Everything's fine besides the fact that I'm an old horse no one wants. Bah! What do I care? I get to stay and eat and drink! I'm not having to work and let silly humans ride my back!" the old horse turned around then faced her "Who are you anyway, human? And how can you speak to me? This made Septimus grin "Not a human, but Kelvic. Being a fellow horse, I can speak to you." which caused the old horse to let out a snort.

"Well, why don't you make yourself useful and scratch behind my ear? With a nod, Septimus fulfilled the horse's request and made her hand up to behind his head then asked a question of her own "It must really suck not having someone to scratch when needed, eh?" The old horse snorted once more "More than you will ever know." Septimus pulled her hand away then spoke softly "Good luck my friend. And try being nice to a human every now and then. They'll most definitely return you with a scratch behind the ears or a pat on the neck." She wasn't sure if the horse would heed her advice or discard it like dirt, but she tried and she gave her knowledge, only trying to help one of her species.

She noticed a few eyes on her, but to be honest, she really didn't care. Sure some people probably didn't have as much respect for War Horses as much as the actual Knights but that didn't matter to her. It was her dream and if they didn't like, they could go screw off. She looked at another wall to see it containing bridles, saddles, bits, and more. She also saw barding. Her mind began to race about the amount of barding she would have to carry in battle, not including the knight. But it more than likely wouldn't be that hard for her horse size. Especially with some training and muscle building techniques she would have to endure.

As her mind wandered, her eyes did as well. She spotted a tall man that was eye level with her. Rarely, were there people her size so this man made her curious. He looked upkept but showed signs of stubble. His blonde hair reminded her of her own golden locks and at closer inspection she could see he had a strange yet beautiful blue eye coloring.

His light armor made little noise as he walked into the stables, his sapphire eyes sparked upon seeing the animals. He approached one of the stalls, reaching up with his hand to stroke the horses neck. "Hi there." He spoke in a soft voice, as if to another person, not simply as if the horse were a dumb animal. He glanced at Septimus, tilting his head "I'm sorry. Do you work here. I was looking for a horse that might allow me a ride." The Knight bowed his head "Ser Andresciel Magius, Knight of Syliras." He offered his free hand to her, his dark eyes seeming to shimmer with fire, "And you are miss?"

Only now did he take her in. She was tall as him, and few humans could match him in height, and her beauty only accented her beauty, he noted to himself. Her golden mane caught his attention, drawing sapphire eyes to it. He noted every detail of her, before his sapphire eyes came back to her own.

That did not, however, stop Velenor, the little smoke ball that followed Andre everywhere from speaking, "Gosh. She's so tall. Andre, she's as tall as you are!" The little Avavali muttered, moving to his shoulder in its smoky form. Andresciel could only shoot his familiar a glare before he smiled at her.

Septimus smiled when the man noticed her then she spoke "Hello." He mentioned her working here, so she only slightly shook her head then gently spoke "Nope. I was actually looking for assistance myself, but according to the horses, they don't offer riding lessons, unfortunately. But they'd would probably be confused in my case anyway." She shook his rough hand, then slightly curtsied with a dip of her head "Lady Septimus. War Horse in training for the Knights." He probably wouldn't understand so it was only in her best to clear up the confusion.

"Tiaden War Horse Kelvic. Can't become a War Horse without learning how to let a Knight ride." she smiled slightly then examined the man at a now closer angle. His sapphire eyes were fiery and seemed to be filled with much mystery. Almost like they were filled with magic. His height allowed her to have a better view. His blonde hair was slightly messy, but showed signs of being upkept. Then of coarse smoke expelled into the air which caused her eyebrows to draw together in confusion. What in the name of gods was that?

The smoke spoke which made her even more confused. Some kind of magic she presumed. She had never seen anything like it so this was clearly out of the norm for her. With her eyebrows still drawn together, she let out quick and short breath of air with a toothless smile. Septimus watched as the ball of smoke disappeared "Why thank you strange smoke?" The confusion quickly slipped from her face as she looked at the Knight "What is that?" This question was not intended to be rude in anyway. As a matter of fact, this question was very respectful. She hoped the man took it the way she intended for she had encountered few that had really taken some of her statements and questions to heart.

Septimus looked down at her red dress then dusted it off. She didn't like to be seen dirty and grimy and she tried to look formal and at her best at all times. Especially since she was representing Syliras and the Knights. Her hair hadn't been combed that day, so it was a bit tangly and quite the bit of a mess "Sorry I don't look my best right now. Was kind of in a rush this morning." she slightly grinned then looked at the man once more.

He looked at her almost surprised, "Ah a Kelvic. I haven't met many of your people. But those I have met where very decent examples." The Knight stated with the same tone as before when he thought her human. A Persons race did not determine their status with Andresciel, only their actions did. And so far, this womans actions spoke greatly for her. She wanted to become a war horse for the Knights. "Well it just so happens that I need to get in a little riding experience, if you'd like to learn as well." He offered his hand to her, as he smiles, "And the little smoke ball. His name is Velenor. He is an Avavali Familiar, my partner in life." He explained as he looked up at the little creature.

He would watch her dust herself off, "One should never apologize for looking beautiful dear." The Knight spoke softly, bowing his head, "After all, it is not a curse. It is who we are." He smiled, hoping to put the Kelvic at ease.

Septimus smiled brightly "I would love to if it wouldn't be a burden on yourself." The thought of learning how to carry a knight and listen to their commands by a bridle, reins, and a bit made her excited. Otherwise, what a coincidence! She was glad she had wandered into the stables that day. She smiled at Velenor "Interesting." She took Andresciel's outstretched hand "I've never seen one before. I only thought they were children bedtime stories my parents told me about when I was little. Guess I was wrong." She grinned at the sphere of smoke then looked at the Knight once more. Septimus blushed slightly at the compliment then nodded her head in agreement "No arguing with that."

The thought of herself popped into her head. Her black horse self running through an open field freely which made her next thought come up "I promise not to throw you. I've seen some pretty bad horse riding accidents because the horse threw the rider and I wouldn't wish that on any other Knight or good citizen for that matter." She had seem some pretty awful injuries that her father's co-workers had received when he took her to his work. Some resulted in broken arms, broken legs, bruised tailbones, a broke back, and the last one she had not witnessed but had heard her father talk about which was death. Some of which were caused by a drunk man's foot getting caught in a stirrup. The memories made another thought pop into her head.

She thought of the tack then gently said "Oh, that reminds me! I'll buy the tack." softly letting go of the gentleman's hand then grabbing her pack from the ground ready to count out the mizas. "The cost should be around 20 gold mizas." With each one, she held the total amount in her hand with a smile. She insisted on buying the tack and wouldn't take any objections. "I mean, it's the least I can do. You're teaching me riding." she smiled brightly.

Andresciel smiled as he looks at Sept, waving her away. He walked to the Syliran Knight registery, writing his name upon the list. He walked into a stable that would contain a set of riding gear, the tack. He lifted it out, onto his shoulder without much trouble as Velenor circled his head, speaking in the tongue of the mages, "How can you be sure that you can trust this woman?". Andre simply looked up at the little familiar, smiling "No. But I am sure I can keep myself safe." The Knight would reply, his eyes moving back towards Septimus as he tilts his head. "Tack is free for Knights." He stated, watching the female as he chuckles, carrying it out towards the gates. "Shall we be on our way miss?" He asked, treating her as he would any other female, despite her race. He lifted the tack higher on his shoulder, smiling at her. He showed no strain, as he walked from the stables towards the riding area, "So. Have you ever carried someone in your horse form?" He would ask.

Septimus covered her mouth and chuckled "Guess I got antsy. Silly me." He showed no signs of needing help carrying anything, for if he did she would've asked to carry something. She also thought of pride and didn't think a man being asked by a woman if he needed help was very helpful in that area. She smiled at Velenor then addressed Andresciel with a bright twinkle in her eye "I think we shall."

Septimus thought about it for a second when he asked his next question "Not anyone. But I did help pull things for my mother and father when they needed it. But even that was rarely and kind of hurt with the worn down gear." The thoughts of them struck her in her soft spot which made her swallow hard. Her slight grin covering up any traces of grief on the outside, when on the contrary, the pain swirled around faintly only to fade away shortly after. "So nope."

With this, she steered away from everyone's sight as she promised her return to Andresciel. Aware of Sylira's laws, she didn't feel like going to trial just to be excused for something she can't help. After making sure no one was watching, she took off her dress, folded it neatly, then morphed. She wasn't sure what Andresciel would think, as she gently trotted back through the stables then around the corner to meet back up with Andresciel. After some shouts of 'How did it get out?' and 'Where did it come from?' and 'We never took her in!' she snorted then walked on as the people returned to their work with confusion spread about their faces.

Finding the Mage Knight once more, she whinnied then snickered, stopping in front of him then lowered her head so they were eye level. A few of the horses in the stables neighed back in response, but she ignored the calls. The area grew shady as a few clouds began to cover the sun providing a instant change in the temperature. "Let's begin."
