In the sunny afternoon, Navaq was sitting in the library, curled up on one of the armchairs, flipping through the pages of big old book. She was feeling calm and peaceful. The silence of the empty room helped her to clear her mind and relax alittle bit. She smiled softly, reading the love letter, written on one of the pages and took a deep breath. The nostalgic smell of old paper and ink filled her body, making her think of her past. Her apartment smelled the exact same way, because of all the books stored all around it. It always made her feel safe and kinda sad.... She sighed quietly and closed the book, staying like this for few secounds, just thinking, sliding eyes throught the room. Everything reminded her for the lovely childhood she had. Everything from the dusty books to the cracked high ceiling was part of her life since she was a little girl and now, was bringing memories of when her parents were still alive. She was happy... And now she was trying to find that happyness again, but it was hard when all of her memories were pulling her back. She stood up and walked to the shelves to leave the book. Her eyes filled with tears and she almost ran out, not wanting to end up crying. The cool air hit her in the face, replacing the hotness of the library, making her shiver lightly. Even in warm day like this, she still felt cold. She looked around, watching the passing people. Soft sigh escaped her lips. Naq couldn't remember the last time she really talked with someone and that made her surprisingly sad. She loved spending most of her time alone, but now she felt how the sharp need to communicate with someone, pierced her whole being, making her feel alone and anxious around all the passing people, who seemed like they didn't even see Navaqs fragile body, pressed to the grey wall, by her own fears. She felt unwanted for the first time in her life and that made her eyes fill with tears again. She alredy hated this feeling, but couldn't do anything against it. Every cell in her body was filled with the feeling of loneliness and Naq was like freezed. She couldn't move an inch, she was just staying there, looking at the people around her, trying to not cry. |
