[Thunder Bay] Lamay's Bait and Tackle

Description: At first glance, this house doesn’t look like much. Located just off the sandy shores of the bay, the squat, wooden structure has been built to not only withstand the test of time, but also the fierce winds that can whip off the waters as well as the frigidly cold Winters. The soul occupant of the house is Lamay, a retired Endal who has long since lost his Wind Eagle. Built originally of wood from the Unforgiving by his parents decades ago, Lamay has not needed to repair a single slat or board on his home, leading many to believe that certain trees in the Unforgiving possess special properties. The steeply slanted roof helps to dispel water in heavy storms, and causes snow to slide off rather than pile up and cause a cave in. Covered with soil and grass, this helps to both hold the heat in during the Winter and keep the heat out during the Summer. A rough fence encircles Lamay’s property, made of dried vines from the Unforgiving as well, it serves as a barrier rather than a protection. Since he runs his business from his home, this gives the old man a sense of privacy. If the gate to his fence is closed, it means that all visitors are turned away. Luckily for customers and friends alike, the gate is hardly ever closed. His yard consists of a single chair next to door to his home, a small storage shed and a sturdily built campfire. Like most of the other businesses run down in Thunder Bay, Lamay has adopted a more informal approach. Being so close to the shore and with an inordinate amount of free time on his hands now that he is retired from his Endal duties, the old Inartan found himself fishing more and more often. It wasn’t until others started to come to him for their supplies that Lamay had the idea of opening his store. With the help of various Avora, Lamay is able to supply a multitude of fishing supplies, from fishing rods to nets and everything in between. He has also perfected the art of finding and preserving the bait that best attracts those creatures in the Bay. However, in his old age Lamay has found it more and more difficult to fish for himself. So, instead of asking for pinions in return for his wares, Lamay simply asks that each customer brings him back an agreed upon stipend of their catch.   NPCs Name: Lamay Race: Inarta DoB: 450 AV PoB: Thunder Bay Title: Owner of Bait and Tackle Skills: Fishing- 90, Cultivating- 34, Carpentry- 46, Carving- 55 Lamay was born in Thunder Bay and chosen by a Wind Eagle by the name of Jakanah at the age of fourteen. From then on, he lived in Wind Reach as an Endal, doing his duty to the city. It wasn't until his thrtieth birthday that Lamay's life changed. During a hunting trip, the Endal party was caught in a freak storm somewhere out in the middle of The Unforgiving. A young Endal volunteered to fly up above the trees to see what was going on, vaulting onto his Eagle and flying away before anyone was able to stop him. In an attempt to help, Jakanah took off into the skies to bring the young Endal and Eagle back to the ground. Sadly, Jakanah was struck by lightening and killed. Without his Wind Eagle, Lamay was no longer Endal. He returned to his parents home in Thunder Bay, the one he still lives in today, and took up fishing. It was a mindless task that kept the young man from feeling the pain that plagued him. It took years, but this distraction turned into passion and Lamay now provides Wind Reach and Thunder Bay both with bait and tackle.   Services and Training Services Please see your DS or AS.
