Appearance :
Julian is a very tall man with a large frame. He has no scars except a few small cuts on the fingers of his hands. After having carved for so long, his hands are resilient to puncturing from certain things, or so at least more so then your adverage person's hands. With broad shoulders, long sturdy legs, and arms thick from having pulled his cart for a long while, Julian looks more like a giant then a regular human. Even with all of this though, if one were to find him at eye level which is more often then what one would think possible, they would see a very gentle, pair of eyes to meet them.

He is often fully clothed by his great robes, almost perfectly black, the bottom of it slightly torn and tattered from travel, which includes a hood which covers his head fairly well. The edges of it are trimmed with another shade of black which has an embroidered design in it from end to end, the underside of that trim being white and seen only when his robes are opened. He is often wearing a mask which when combined with his robes and hood completely hides his body, often becoming a person that people fear, but honestly only being worn because of how much safer he feels, almost as if guarded from the outside world by the layers of cloth.

Even with his mask on one is able to see his eyes under the right form of lighting, though it is difficult to get the angle right, it is much easier when he is at eye level with the one looking at him. This is fairly easy because he is the type who will shy away from others for a good portion of time during their first meeting, his head sinking into his shoulders and his large frame tightening around itself, seeming to make him slightly smaller then he really is.

Often he will not have his arms placed through the sleeves of the robes and instead will hide them underneath the body. This too helps with making him seem small, the sleeves simply hanging down without form to them. When reaching for something or bringing something out, his hand will come out from the center of the robes, but he will often shuffle within them akwardly as he reached for whatever he is trying to pull out.

This will often be found on the rucksack of his back underneath the robes but it could also be on the most extremely rare occasions his wooden Flamberge which has crystal fragments inbedded in it's frame to give it a sheen shine much like a metalic blade when held up to the light. The sword is held in a holster to his right side and though made of wood, is very intimidating, it's curved flow gleaming from the crystals, and having a huge size to it making the man holding it more scary as he holds the lightweight blade in one hand.

Clothes (Simple) :
Beautifully crafted black robes with a hood, black tight fit shirt, black loose fit pants, black shoes.

Personality :
Very quiet and very timid. Julian is often found hiding beneath his thick robes and behind his oval mask. If he feels himself being followed by someone he will often leave a small present for them in hopes to make peace with them. If someone were to speak with him, he would do his best to shy away from the person unless he feels forced into speaking with them. After a while however he will relax and become a bit more open, if not fairly generous, even more so after his greeting which consists of simply giving a person one of his figurines that he carved from wood and on many occasions adorned with fragments of crystal shards.

He does not have a large concept on money even though he tries to be a merchant, selling the wooden carvings he makes to the public. His sales usually do not go too well unless the person is more interested in the art rather the person trying to sell it. He will continually give to others and if brought to the point, will spend his very last coin on them. This is just a part of his kind nature. Another portion of his kind nature being with animals.

Animals who have a better sense then people will often befriend Julian. One said animal was a wild Fennec which he named Oddu who he had treated in the middle of his travels. After being treated, the wild fox would not leave Julians side and in the end sort of became an adopted pet for him. Oddu is one of his strengths and if the little fox is anywhere near Julian, he immediately becomes a bit stronger, a bit more open to people and feeling a slight bit bolder, which still isn't much to say about the skiddish man.

History :
Julian was born in the year 479, Spring 58'th in a port town called Zeltiva. His father Micheri Rasfura was a master of merchants, skilled in many arts, master of many languages, and known as a fairly good traveler by any who knew of him. His mother was a common woman of beauty who had fallen for Micheri's money but then the man after. He was brother of one older who looked down upon the birth of a new brother.

Julian was a very quite child, rarely crying and rarely making much noise. He enjoyed a number of things that others may consider strange. One thing is that he would enjoy finding small spaces to hide in for hours at a time. His older brother who had a held cruel tendencies to his younger brother would "help" him find these small places to hide and leave him there. Julian however did not mind this and would often remain locked away for however long until his mother or father found him.

When he learned to walk well, he would walk around the streets near his house, listening to the gossips speaking to one another and hearing their stories. Not many tried speaking to him however and if they did, they would often be met with silence. At a later time as his brother teased him at the dining table for his supposed inability to speak, Julian proved him wrong, holding a manner of speech grander then his older brother. "I can speak as I wish. I do not speak because I do not like to speak."

This was an awe moment for his parents and his older brother, realizing the child they thought having a slight disorder mentally was learning at a faster pace then many of those of his age. His father would then pry him for information about what he knew, wanting to know how much his son had developed and was easily indulged, Julian offering the slight knowledge he had learned simply by listening to the gossips and his own parents.

Once he was five the family suffered a loss. His mother had given birth to another child. A little sister. His older brother was already old enough to support himself out of the household and could easily support another. To Julian's surprise, he watched as his brother happily accepted the new sister, showing far more kindness to her in her days of life as he had ever to Julian through his five years.

Julian remained with his father who decided to prepare once more for travel. Micheri sold off his land, beriddening himself of his usual material goods and took upon himself new materials of travel. Carts and wagons, hiring a number of people whom he deemed trustable to travel alongside him. He had bought himself a caravan to make more then what was spent.

He had then spent a long time on the road. The people of his trade caravan had their own children, the size becoming much grander, the trades more extravegant. From Zeltiva to Sunberth, Sunberth to Riverfall, Riverfall to Syliras. His father had taught him a number of things but one thing of interest that he took a liking to was the art of Carving.

The trade had continued on like that until Julian reached the age of twentyfive, having carved a mask which he hid behind during travel and mimiced his fathers blade in wood with his newfound skill. The trade had always been good and father had always provided for the people of the caravan, but someone else had other plans in the shadows.

As they plotted and schemed, the people of the caravan finally thought to overthrow Micheri's control. The latest shipment was something of deep interest. Isurian steel, and a lot of it. It was a very rare metal and a large number of the carts were full of it, which is probably where the peoples integrity finally broke.

As Julian followed in his fathers steps he watched as the people swarmed past him in the large crowds. Before he knew it his father disappeared from view as did everything else as a sharp pain struck at the back of his head. It took four bells for it all to happen. The people had stripped the caravan, leaving only a half busted cart, a long worn tent, and a number of trade goods sprawled out across the ground.

Julian got up slowly, watching his surroundings before he saw what he was after. His father laid there, his clothes containing many holes within it. The ground itself was reddened. The sight was a horror for him, the one man he didn't mind speaking to, the one man who had raised him and cared for him since the time of his birth, and the last link to the family he once had that was shattered along with his mothers death. It was gone.

He spent two days at the site of his father's death before finally building the strength to get back up. He grabbed a robe that was left on the ground, it's black cloth an apparent sight in the forest, and what food he could which he brought into the remaining cart. Inside were some cheaper materials of the trade. Collections of wood and fur, crystals hung in a cheap bag and a number of tools unused by the people. He saw the remains of a large tent as well and took use of it.

After numerous tries, he was able to use the tools correctly, making four posts into the corners of the cart. With that he walked over to the tent, taking the tarp and pulling it, revealing a large collection of silk rope underneath. It was a thing almost able to be called a gift. However, he ignored it for now, busy with the tarp which he hung over the four posts and nailed down on the sides and front of the cart, leaving the back open to keep access to what was within.

Now he was able to deal with the rope which he tied around the cart, nailing it firmly to the sides so that it would remain fit. At the front of the cart he made what seemed a large hoop. It provided for him silky handles of which to use when he had to move the cart, realizing that he was going to have to pull it himself, not a single of the horses remaining in sight.

By the time he was done messing with the supplies remaining he finally was ready to leave, however, the sun had set and night fell upon them for the third night around the area. He decided to sleep in the safety of his cart that night with a horrible sight to fall before him. The moon was high and the ground was lit well by its rays. In the distance a shadow moved in the forest.

Julian could do nothing but watch in horror as a great beast broke from the trees, it's many teeth seeming more like that of a saw as they shone under the light of the moon. He watched as the creature came further into the clearing, having a purpose to come here. It found the grave of his father whom he had to bury and began to dig. The creature digged and digged as Julian fought the tears before finally the monster found what it was after.

He watched the process of his father being pulled from his grave, flung into the air, and partially devoured by the monster, his body ripped by its massive claws. He did not sleep that night as the creature left, and as the sun broke the nights sky, he was quick to be at the front of the cart and moving out from the place. nothing remaining but remnants of his father dreams, and a gaping hole in the ground.

He held onto his father's teachings, traveling for another five years from town to town, trading carved goods for food, traveling supplies, and a decent nights sleep out of the wilds. Now he traveled to Syliras, wanting to try his luck at selling goods there. On his travels he found a small creature which was horribly wounded.

Unsure of what to do, Julian did all he could do, trying to keep the fox-like creature safe in the back of his cart, tending to it's wounds and feeding it bits of food as it recovered. At first it did not give much trust to Julian but over time it learned what was going on. Halfway through the travels, the fox made its recovery and befriended Julian.

At this point in time Julian bestowed the name Oddu on it, learning quickly to become attached to the small creature. He now had a friend and as they closed upon the Syliran gates, he decided he was going to make it his home, be his trades good or not, not wanting to put Oddu in danger in his travels by creatures like that which got Micheri.

Explaining Items
Cart :
After manipulating the carts design with use of his builders kit, some lumber, the tarp of a 4 person tent, and 50 feet of silk rope, the cart became both a transportation device and a home. Protected by rain, holding nearly 40 Ibs of lumber that remained after a few failed attempts at using the wood to make four posts on which to hang the tarp. Inside the floor is covered with the remaining lumber which is covered by a thick layer of furs and hides on which to sleep.

Crystals :
The crystals are used for a number of things. He uses a few of them to decorate some of his carved figures with them to increase the value of them or making them more beautiful.

Flamberge :
The wooden flamberge is held in a harness located under his robes. It's form deeply resembles a large sword of which would pose a great threat to anyone and because of it's lightweight material, can easily be held in one hand. Julian uses this magnificent looking wooden blade to strike fear into a person if needed in order to avoid a fight. However, if a fight did break out, he would have no knowledge of how to use the weapon beyond a tool of intimidation. Using the crafter kit, he decorated the false weapon by imbedding some of the Crystals into it like gems.

Builder/Crafter kit :
Julian will use the builder and crafter kit for a number of things, between making decorative wooden figurines to sell with the crafters and making some repairs on his cart or cutting off a chunk of wood from the lumber to carve for said figures with the builders

Dog Companion :
The dog is actually a type of fox known as a Fennec. It has large ears and eyes and is extremely small. It is a nocturnal creature and is considered a bit rare. Julian did not "BUY" the companion however, it was added to the price list by thought of it being a possession. If items could be added by them being found, then nearly every possession he has would be taken off, thus why it was added.

Special Items

Figurine (Crystals) :
Small collection of figurines that he carved out of the wood of his collection and adorned with numerous colored crystals. He will often gift people with these figurines.

Figurine (Wood) :
Large collection of figurines depicting the knights of Syliras, or common people. Often bought as toys by small children, these figurines made are his primary source of income.

Masks :
Medium collection of masks slightly crude depictions of animals, monsters, and people. Another source of his income purchased as play toys by the younger generation.

Oval Mask :
Wooden mask that he often wears due to his shy nature. It is a plain oval shape with a two oval holes punched into it so that he can see. The mask fits well to his face and will rarely fall off unless appropriate force is applied to do so.

Crystal Fragments :
Realizing that the crystals that he wanted to use for his figurines were too large, Julian smashed a small handfull of them and decorate small figurine parts with the fragments that remained after the smashing.

NPC/Pet_Uddo the Fennec Fox :

How The Skills Work: In order to maintain a healthy diet, Uddo will often wander around, hunting for mice and bugs, sometimes going so far as to enter a strangers home and chase out the edible pests later. He loves to run and jump as he plays. When hiding in Julians robes, he will often stick his head out to observe others and will sometimes beg for attention, wanting to be loved or held.

Appearance: Uddo is a small fox with large ears that are a good pink coloration. Light brown fur and dark brown eyes with large ears and a slightly bushy tail.

Personality:Uddo is a strange Fennec. Though the creatures are usually Nocturnal, Uddo will remain awake in the day time and asleep at night with Julians hours. He loves to chase things, jumping for flying bugs or sometimes just jumping to be jumping. When alone, Uddo will find his way into a number of homes to hunt down any bugs or mice within, and will thus chase them out of the house. This makes him a welcome guest by those who know him, knowing their house has a pest that was sniffed out by the little Fennec which will soon be chased out by said Fennec.

When with Julian he will often be found hiding in Julian's robes, having found a way to travel within through steppings of whatever bags, harnesses, or helpful hands willing to give the fox some support within. He enjoys the robes mostly because of their thickness, being able to block out the bright sunlight.

WELCOME TO THE SHOP
_

Wood Figurines "Small" (1 SM)
These are carved from 1x1x1 wood blocks. Their max size is one inch in height, on inch in length, and one inch in width. Most have a circle base, under that base being two depictions. Half of the sun and half of the moon, intertwined with one another. If the base is square, there will be no picture carved underneath it. Most of these will depict animals. These range from snakes, ferrets, dogs, fox, pigs, turtles, and a number of other simple animals. They have a fair amount of detail in them for their size. Some of the small carvings will also depict nature. These can be of flowers, a small bush, a tree, sometimes a small scale of a nearby scenary, a boat on the ocean, or mountains.

Wood Figurines "Medium" (3 SM)
These carvings are based on 2x2x2 blocks, making them 8 times the size of the small one at only 3 times the cost. Once more the base is usually in a circle with the depiction of the sun and moon beneath, but the array of things carved into these is much more detailed. These can be larger scenes, or the same scenes in a more detailed form. Also, people will be included in these, though a bit small a scale, most of these people will be knights or common folk. Sometimes he will make royal figures and more noble statuettes. These are a more liked toy for children, being a bit easier to handle.

Wood Figurines "Large" (5 SM)
These carvings are based on 3x3x3 blocks, making them 27 times larger then the small figurines. As usual the there are a few bases that are round, having the carving of the usual sun and moon underneath but nearly all of the large scaled figurines are actually square to allow more detail to be put on them. On top the figures become of much more interest. Most of them are scenery, showing parts of houses and people standing in front of them, a few trees in the corners and a small fountain in front of them. These are more of a collecting figurine but some of the children enjoy using them as portions of scenery for their small wood figurines.

Wood Figurines "Small" w/Crystal (3 SM)
These are much like the wood figurines but instead the top portions that depict animals and the like will be decorated in small crystal shards. These can be used as the eyes of a beaver, or perhaps the beak of a bird. Because the crystals are slightly pointed however, Julian does not sell them to the kids out of worry that they would hurt themselves. In other words they are for people at the age of 15 or older.

Wood Figurines "Medium" w/Crystal ( 9 SM)
These are much like the other wood figurines and once more are decorated in the crystal shard. These can be the spear tips of a small spearman, or perhaps a portion of the armor in one of the knights. If creating a royal figure, the cloaks they wear may have the crystals laid in them as a pattern, spaced out evenly and creating a slightly flowing motion. Most scenery made with the crystal detail will have the crystals used to decorate a reflective surface such as something of glass or of water.

Wood Figurines "Large" w/Crystal (2 GM)
The large crystal figurines are of a much higher detail thanks to their size and will often have a large number of the crystal shards glued onto them if not a full crystal itself when it can call for such. These are increased in value because of the how hard Julian works on these, trying his best to plan out what he wants to do with his creations in his head as he works.

Wood Mask (5 SM)
These wood masks can be made to have a number of different appearances. These can be animals, monsters, or pictures depicting human faces, often distorted faces which are used jokingly. They can also be used for more ritualistic purposes, as a form of celebration or perhaps something requiring the likes of it. One can request a mask similar to Julians, but in the end would be refused, having a liking to the individuality of his simple mask.

Wood Mask w/Crystals(1 GM 5 SM)
These masks will have shards of crystal in them to make them sparkle in the light. These masks are usually decorated well and fairly well designed, however, once more, Julian refuses to sell a mask such as this to a child out of the fact that the crystals will leave a few rough if not possibly sharp portions of the outside of the mask. He may know enough to know how to glue a bit of crystal to the mask but he does not know enough as to how to smooth down the edges right so that those points do not show.
