[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 23rd, 2012, 2:36 am

Time stamp: the 5th day of the fall of 512

The light came into the small dwelling the Red called his home seeking the face of the young man who was sound asleep on his bed. The night before had been a full one with the Dek acting as they were. Truthfully Red didn't much like the fact that he had to deal with the Dek his history was to mixed with theirs to be the one to force them to behave. No, Red much rather be sweeping through the air watching for danger, or hunting through the forest for food so that the reach could eat. None the less last night was over.

Rolling out of bed Red stretched his body squeezing his grogginess out of his body. Today would be a good day as he was going out to the woods for a some hunting with Daghul who would be readying himself as they spoke. Of course, readying for the eagle would be testing his wings out in the sky. Pushing himself off the bed Red moved to his hung hunting garb and started to dress.

Red wore dark red leather pants not super tight giving him range of motion to move, and a dark red leather vest with a hood on it. Though it was pretty simple clothes for a Endal it was quite enough for Red. Taking some paint in his hand from a jar on a table in his room the Endal smeared it around his eyes giving him almost a mask of sorts. This act hopefully would help hide his blue eyes during the hunt.

Lastly, as Red made his way to his door he grabbed the rest of his gear which he had packed before hand when he had returned home the night before. Most importantly he grabbed his weapons the wilds around the mountain could be full of danger, and Red rather be ready for what ever might come his way. Among these were his short bow and quiver, a small knife, and most importantly his talon sword. The hilt felt cool under his hand, and the blade seemed to dance with the light that reflected off the cold steel of the blade. This was one of the signs of a Endal, this told others that he wasn't just a young man, but a rider of the wind, and a man of honor.

Moving through the door way and out into the hall Red sent his thoughts out toward Daghul 'ready my friend?' a sense of excitement shot through him.

'Always for a hunt' a reply came through and Red pulled his hood over his head and started out into the crowds of people hoping to avoid any trouble that he might have to deal with. There was a need to be out in the wild with Daghul doing what they did best. A need to feel the free winds blow across his face as the sun warmed his back and the air carried them higher through the sky.

Then like the morning sun had washed over his face Red saw his friend swoop down like a angel in the sun light. Such a majestic beast Daghul was as he landed away from the crowds which red for the most part put out of his mind. Daghul was a redish brown color, which seemed to be a theme with the pair, his body strong and powerful, his face seemed full of wisdom. The eagle had grown quickly in the pass few years, and now stood almost fully grown. With a quick exchange of looks Red leaped onto the giant eagles back and said "shall we" and the eagle took flight.

Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 23rd, 2012, 4:09 am

The clouds raced passed as bird and rider fell from the sky as one, the rush of flight burning in each soul as they made their dive racing through the air like a arrow in mid flight. Neither doubted the other, both knew what to do they had done it time and time again, but the sight was breath taking and as the bird unfolded it's wings stretching them out blotting out the sun for those below. If any were there to see the sight they might skip a heart beat, there was something magical about a wind eagle and Endal that couldn't be matched.

Daghul leveled off and began it's scan of the forest floor for their prey as Red ready himself for the drop his heart still beating from the dive, and a sense of adventure captured his heart 'see anything?' he sent towards the Wind Eagle hoping for some action this time. Already two hours had passed by of their hunting trip and yet nothing had yet to be found.

'a rabbit here, and a snake there, but nothing worth hunting yet' the Eagle shared the desire for a hunt as Red they almost hungered for it. the rush of battle, the heat of the hunt, it was something they longed for, and it was something they would get. Daghul twisted in the air leaning to the right to circle around.

'you saw something I take it?' the Endal pushed at Daghul.

The bird replied with a screech as it came around full circle and started to drop lower to the ground near a small clearing. Red grinned as he started to ready himself for the jump, and Daghul painted a picture in his head of a large stag not but a hundred yards to the north. Nearing the clearing Red pulled himself to crouch on the back of the bird.

It happened swiftly, quickly, and almost entirely to fast. Daghul stretched his wings out slowing down just at the clearing as Red jumped from his back to the ground making a ten foot drop and ending it in a roll as to dampen the impact and just like that he was back to his feet and off at a run towards the north.

Having his bow in hand he reached back and pulled a arrow free from the quiver where they were fastened, knocking it he sent word to Daghul 'touch down, may the hunt begin' with that the hunter darted off into the woods as the Eagle took flight and circled the area stalking their prey waiting for the moment to strike.

Red shifted his weight as he took a careful step towards his prey who was bent over taking his time eating grass under the safety of a large tree. The stag believed itself safe from the Wind Eagle under the large branches which were like strong arms out stretched in protection covered in the fall leafs. The beast itself was something the look at noble and proud it had seen many falls before a out smarted the great eagles. It's rank of antlers proved only that much too those who might seek it out for challenge, but this day it would meet it's match.

The Endal moved with swiftness and ease, though he had not been trained in the art of stealth he knew enough to keep himself hidden from the buck at this distance. Each step closer though brought a new wave of excitement, each step gave the prey a chance to escape. The arrow knocked on the bow seemed to shout it's need to fly through the air, it wanted this just as bad in Red's mind. The string gave a low creak as the Endal drew back on the short bow, letting the arrow be pulled back fully.

All that was left was to line the shot up. Taking deep breaths Red made his aim taking in accounts for wind speed in the air, the distance of only 30 feet, even his own stance for everything had to work together to make the shot. Then the last breath taking it in, and releasing was all that remained.

"SNAP!" a rabbit leaps from a bush next to him alerting the stag of the Endal readying the shot that should have claimed his life. Panic spreads through the hunters body and the arrows flies towards the flighty stag. The beast knows it has only one chance and pushes himself to move out of the way of the speeding arrow. The stag feels the pain of a arrow lodged in his leg, but pushes through the pain and takes off like a bird in flight through the trees leaving behind a trail of blood that marks the failed shot.

'looks like its your turn' Red sends through his mind to the sky where the Wind Eagle circles spying for his chance to scoop the buck into the air as it runs from the man chasing it on the ground.

'missed your shot i take it' the bird sent in reply to the man who's heart beat like a drum at a lively party as he pushed himself to follow the wounded beast following the trail of blood left behind and the tracks beat into the ground by it.

'a mix of bad timing, and poor planning one might say' Red sent back.

'well its not over yet, the stag is keeping beneath the cover of the forest well' the bird offered, which Red almost took as pity. The two though kept on the stag the excitement of the hunt taking fully over as the two each hunted the beast.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 23rd, 2012, 8:20 pm

The feeling of pain started to rush into Red's body as he carefully made his way through the brush following the trail of the stag that he had missed some hours ago now. It would have seemed that his landing didn't stick as well as he had hoped and he was now finding small cuts on his arms where he had no protection. Soreness also seemed to be setting in around his lower back, and legs the healers would have a fit with him when he returned he was sure, but he did what he had to.

The stag had made a sharp turn it seemed to follow a small stream which at times made it hard to track the beast as it would step in the water and the tracks would be lost, but the drops of blood gave it away, and by the amount of blood that was being left Red would have guessed it would be slowing down soon. It was starting to look as if it would be a race to finish this before the sun went down. It had been a few hours since the start of the hunt maybe three to four if he had to guess. That would make it about two if they started at ten, so three hours left before the sun started it's drop.

Starting into a jog Red was finding that with the loss of blood the stag was starting to make errors, and miss-stepping, falling, and then struggling to regain footing. This was a good sign. 'We're close' Red sent out then remembered Daghul had gone to find a clearing to rest and make camp, but that was some ways away and he was sure that Daghul wouldn't hear.

another two hours passed as Red followed the blood trail feeling as if every step would reveal his prey. Alas, he came upon the stag who had fallen to the ground near a stream half his body laying in the cool waters, and the Inarta arrow sticking straight in the air as if a flag claiming the prize. Blood seem to mix with water around the stag, and Red felt a small pang of pain at the sight. It wasn't the stags proudest day. Walking over to the beast Red took out his knife and laid a hand on the stags chest and whispered "sleep now" and with that he finished the task.

Red tied the two legs of the beast together and lifted it to his shoulders. The buck was no small beast, and Red could feel the weight on his shoulders. This was going to be a long trip. Taking the first step forward Red heard the screech of Daghul over head and saw the shadow race across the sky 'I win'

'you win only the fact you have to carry the beast' Daghul sent back in jest.

'haha truth, but he is a prize' Red replied as he trudged through the forest in the direction Daghul instructed. The forest was starting to turn to night and the day animals started heading home calling to their friends one last time. The air was beginning to change to it's cold crispness, and the smell of fresh air washed over the woods. Red rather not get stuck in here at night, and with a stag of meat on his back at that. Worry started to form in Red's gut as he tried to pick up the pace.

_________________________________________________________________

'how much farther?' Red asked Daghul who was flying in circles over his rider eyes peeled for signs of danger as the sun started to set in the sky.

'about a mile or two more before i can pick you up' the Wind Eagles voice was calm and steady even though Red was sure there was some worry there. Night time in the darklit clearing wasn't something one wanted to be stuck in.

'how does it look from the air?' Red asked hoping for a peace walk the rest of the way to the pick up. Daghul didn't answer right away, and the shadow of the bird that the last light of day cast seemed to be gone. 'Daghul, this isn't a time to play games' the Endal threw out to the coming night.

Daghul's voice came loud and clear in his head 'Danger' Red reacted swiftly dropping the stag and grabbing his talon sword from it's sheath the metal reflecting the last light of the sun as it dropped just under the horizon.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 24th, 2012, 5:51 pm

The sound of heavy foot steps moving rapidly toward Red became extremely clear after Daghul's warning. Now ready for the oncoming attack the Endal held his Talon sword at the ready, though he was no master with the blade he had become better with training. It was time to see those training sessions pay off.

Taking a deep breath he tried to calm himself, weariness and pain seemed to seep though his body warning him he was already tired. There was no escape from this, he still had at least another mile till Daghul could aid him, and even then what would they do return empty handed. That just wasn't how Red played.

The darkness deepened around him every second as he scanned through it's fog with eyes like a hawk. Nothing could be seen, and to add to his growing fear the foot steps had long stopped. The feeling of eyes watching him haunted his mind as he started to feel his chest clinch as worry and fear tried to take control. "I am Endal, I will face you yet, shadow" Red told himself and his unseen stalker, and the thought drew on courage.

'I cannot tell what, or where it is, Red' Daghul sent down to him as the Endal stood still waiting for his invisible threat to attack.

Shifting on his feet Red took a step towards the stag he had dropped which has fallen two feet away from him. The only thought Red had was to get somewhere safer, and quickly. The terrain west towards where Daghul would be able to pick him up was rough and he would never make it in the dead of night, but if he headed east towards the darklit clearing he may be able to stay the night there. It was not much safer, but it would give him a better view of his surroundings, and maybe, just maybe there would be another Endal that happened to be in the area.

Crouching down to lifted the stag back on his shoulder Red tried to move as slow as he could. Just as he started to grab the deer a low growl echoed in the shadows, but the direction was lost in the darkness. Red took another deep breath it was clear what the darkness wanted here not the Endal, but his prize.

Painfully Red decided what was best he would leave his stag 'this is the right choice, Red' came Daghul's voice, and the Endal started to back away heading towards the east where he would came the night. As Red was moving off his could hear the sounds of the unknown beast moving in the darkness already knowing it's victory.

Anger started to build up in Red, for he had spent a whole day on that hunt. It had all gone to waste, but that is not what really fueled the rage it was in the defeat, the giving up. The Endal stopped in his tracks rage clouding his judgement, and with a sudden turn he faced his foe.

There standing on four legs stood a figured with matted grey hair, it looked much like a big dog, and Red knew what stood before him. A wolf, one of the biggest wolves he had ever seen and it lifted it's head letting out a howl through the night calling it's pack. Rage moved Red's body as he called out to the beast "HEY!" the beast craned his head over cutting the howl off early and they stared each other down.

Talon sword in head Red pushed forward charging the wolf who uttered a low growl before pushing off it's hind legs sending it forward. The beast stood little over 3 feet, but even in the night you could see it's teeth flaring, warning others to stay away. Red pulled is blade across the wolves face, but it was faster and dodged the attack taking no time to send it's own attack towards Red's leg. The Endal quickly retreated a step to avoid the dangerous teeth of the wolf.

The two circled around each other eyes locked in the darkness that only now started to be lit by the moon. This time it was the wolf who made the first move leaping at Red trying to knock the hunter to the ground, but Red reacted to the wolves pause to change direction and rolled to the left. Pain shot up his shoulder as the wounds from earlier cried out and reopened. Grunting Red only had a second to move as claws swiped at him, but he was a second to slow and three claws grazed his left shoulder.

The wolf seemed pleased with the attack, as Red finished is roll away blood starting to fall from his shoulder. Before red had a chance to fully recover the wolf was on him again trying once again to get him to the ground, and it would have if it had not been startled by a loud screech from the sky and a shadow that fell across the ground as if the moon were blotted out.

Red took his chance drawing his blade in front of him to stabbed out into the shadows and felt the blade connect with wolf. There was a whimper, and a growl. Then when the moon revealed itself again the wolf was gone a trail of blood seemed to follow it. Red fell to his knees victory was his, but a wave of weariness followed, and the night seemed to start to spin as he tried to hold himself up. Breathing became hard as he tried to regain himself, and the Endal knew he needed to move before the wolf returned with friends.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 25th, 2012, 7:06 pm

After a few moments of sitting on the forest floor Red picked himself up, though he was feeling better after the moments rest he still very much was under the weather so to speak. After reassuring Daghul that he was fine the Endal walked over to the stag which had be left untouched. The Wind Eagle above was strangely alright with the actions of the rider, and Red left it as the bird wanted the prize same as him.

Looking down at the stag the Inartan man slow came to feel the blood that came from his left arm. Looking in the night left many questions to be wonder about how bad it was, and there really was no way of knowing till he had a fire, but he did know he was still able to use his arm even if it was painful. Reaching into his bag he brought out some clothe and started to wrap his arm. The Endal was no healer, but he did know that you had to stop the bleeding if you wanted to survive.

Once he felt that he had tied and wrapped his arm decently enough he lifted the stag back to his shoulders, and checking to make sure his gear was on in place Red once again started on his way. The path would become easier and easier to travel as he headed east toward the darklit clearing, but from his soreness and pain it was a wobbly trek. Only a few times did he hear the sound of howls, and he was sure it was from the wolf catching his scent. There was hope in Red that the clearing was known to the wolf as a place Endal camped and of danger for beast with intentions of harm.

Finally after at least a hour and a half the red haired main found the clearing. The sound of trickling water from the creak just across the clearing it was almost a soothing sound and Red was filled with a wave of relief. Moving more towards the center of the clearing the Endal spots a spot were many have come before and cleared a spot in the ground for fires. From the looks of it there is a small pile of wood not far from the spot 'lucky for us' Red sent to the air and Daghul agreed.

Quickly setting to work Red pulled out his flint and steel and set to the grind of starting a fire. Fire building is something of a art one could say, you start using small easy to burn sticks and leafs to get the flames going. This is called kindlen, and as that catches fire you add a little bit bigger sticks, and when all is said in done if done well you should have a raging fire. With a little bit of effort Red was able to get his fire going, though he used most of the wood that was stacked already and would have to get more. Never the less though the fire seemed to warm his heart a bit, and his body.

The next thing was to get some food into his body. the Endal hadn't eaten in hours, and of course he had skipped dinner in lue of trying to reach Daghul before the night came. Pulling out of his bag some bread, and fruit he had stuffed into his bag that morning he enjoyed the cold meal. Red did have thoughts of cooking some of the stag, but after his experince with the wolf he was really hoping to avoid any other engagements with any beast.

After he finished his meal, which he hadn't noticed how weak he was from not eating, Red decided to gather some more wood from the forest around him though his stayed close to the clearing. After finding plenty of wood he stacked it where he would it, and went back to the fire to look at his arm.

The wound had stopped bleeding which allowed the Endal to get a good look at the damage done by the wolf. Three claw mark cut into his left shoulder not going super deep, but most of that was because of the shoulder. At most the wound seemed painful, but not deadly. Re-wrapping the wound the young man decided to try and get some sleep, and after a quick conversation with Daghul and letting him know he was good to find a place to rest the Endal laid his pack done and leaned his head against it and sleep swiftly swooped in taking the wind rider to a land of dreams.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 25th, 2012, 8:46 pm

The sound of the wind danced across the face of the Endal who sat back to a tree letting the sun that fought it's way through the trees shine down in small beams of light that broke the shadows hold. Each ray seemed to shine with a majestic glow that gave a radiant look to the clearing. The earth under the young man was warm, and soft as if he was siting on some sort of bed.

Then there before him standing under the beams of light stood a stag with antlers that numbered somewhere above 20. The beast stood proud showing to the whole clearing that he was the most beautiful and powerful thing here. Then like a roaring ocean with waves crashing against rocks the creek not ten feet away could be heard. The Stag turned his head to watch as the waters rose, and as if the stag himself was in control it stamped it's feet and the water yielded.

Red found himself on his feet staring into the eyes of the buck that seemed to be lifeless now. Wonder and fear seemed to build with in red's chest as he locked eye with the beast... something about those eyes kept him locked, and he could not move.

Then the beams of light snapped away, darkness swept through the clearing and a cold bitter breeze whipped in. Deep in Red's mind words echoed 'Danger..." pain seemed to flood to the surface of the endals mind and at his feet a pool of blood seemed to gather. Behind him the sound of growling and howls like that of a wolf began, and then all at once Red found himself staring at not the stag that once stood before him, but the wolf.

Red woke with a start his breathing was rapid, and his heart raced. it was impossible to tell the time as there was no light. No light, why was that important the Endal couldn't quite figure it out. Questions quickly flooded into Red's mind, where was he? why did his body hurt? and what... Then memory flooded back to him, and he froze.

The darklit clearing, the fire was dead, there were sounds of sniffing around him. Somewhere off he heard the peaceful trickling of the creek, but it's sounds had turned into the whispers of shadows, and the talking of things in the night. Slowly reaching his hand out he found purchase of his Talon sword hilt. It felt cold in his hand, but it brought him some sense of safety.

With the fire burning low almost to just coals it was almost impossible to see more then five feet around him, yet the sound of sniffing was growing louder maybe off to his right the Endal couldn't tell in the darkness. Slowly moving himself closer to the fire Red tried his best to keep from alerting what ever creature stalked the night. The first thoughts were of the wolves as they must have caught his scent some time ago, but then why hadn't they attack, thoughts of other beasts like a bear formed in his mind, but they weren't any better then thoughts of wolves.

Finally coming in reach of the fire, and of the stack of wood Red ventured out to grab some with his left hand, but was met with the pain of the slash on his shoulder it seemed to have swelled up in the night. Now there was a burning in his shoulder, and Red bit down as not to utter a sound of pain. Moving so that he could reach the wood with his right hand he carefully, and quietly add to the flames fuel that would catch quickly.

The flames rose suddenly lighting the clearing up a bit more for a few moments giving Red the chance to spring to his feet. Of course, as he rose the soreness in his limbs became evident and he almost fell back over, but he caught himself before the fall. Scanning the area a shadow fell just about where he had left the stag, and then Red found where he had failed. Instead of hanging the stag in the air to keep in from other animals he had left in laying on the ground on the other side of the fire.

Shaking his head and keeping his Talon sword in front of him he started towards the broken body of the deer to find a small shadow sniffing at the body. As soon as Red came to close the shadow leaped through the air and was off at a run into the forest. The Endal chuckled at himself, and turned to add more wood to the fire, and soon after went to securing a better place for the stag hanging from a tree.

letting out a deep breath Red found himself wishing he was in his bed sleeping the night away. None the less, he was Endal and he would face the challenge at hand. Finding his way back to his fire and pack he lowered his body to the ground and sat back letting himself rest, but sleep didn't come as his mind was alert. Somewhere in the back of his head felt danger was still afoot.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on October 27th, 2012, 12:41 am

Sleep was something that for the rest of the night was kept from Red, for every time he came close his dreams would alert him that he was still in a pretty dangerous place. The fire brought some peace to his soul as it would grow and faint according to the dance of the wind. Of course, because of the lack of sleep he would keep the fire going at a steady pace.

Even with his dreams alarming him the Endal tried his best to rest back on his pack letting his thoughts wonder about not really keeping to one single thought for to long. Thoughts of his past, and of the people who he had met since being raised to Endal status, of the adventures he had been on. These thoughts were some of the most amazing things he could ever see, but none of them amounted to the relationship he had found in Daghul, a friendship that seemed closer then he had ever been to anyone.

Daghul was something special in his life the Wind Eagle was more then a friend in his life it was like having a brother who you were so close to that you almost never left each others side. There was nothing he wouldn't talk to Daghul about, even if he knew that the Eagle didn't understand all of the customs of humans.

one of Daghul's favorite topics was poking a little joke about finding Red a mate, and maybe it wasn't all joking and maybe it even had to do with Daghul having a mate, but both enjoyed laughing about the two of them finding some one to be with. It would have been a silly thought to have a conversion like this with a eagle before he met Daghul now it was as normal as talking to another person... maybe even more normal.

The night drew on and Red's thought's slowly drifted into half dreams where Red and daghul took flight into the air diving through clouds, or riding just close enough to feel as if you could walk right across them. These half dreams even had the two heading into battle as heroes leading a army of Wind Eagles against some strange dark evil that threatened the Reach. These dreams ended though as the first ray of light broke through the trees above and landed of the mans face.

Red rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms in the air, and his body out. There was discomfort in his left shoulder, and even more through out his body that came from the rough hunt, and fight with the wolf the day before. Deciding it was best to get out of the woods, and cutting the hunting trip off just a day early was not a bad idea. Quickly packing up his gear, and doing a quick sweep to bring the clearing back to it's natural state Red started to bring down the stag.

After that Red put the deer over his shoulders trying his best to keep the weight off his left shoulder, and with that he started off toward the west heading to where he could get picked up by Daghul. In about a half of a hour he would try and get a hold of the Wind Eagle.

[Darklit clearing] Never truly alone

Postby Red Daghul on November 1st, 2012, 6:19 am

Red pushed himself on as the soreness started to creep through his body warning him of the next few days and the pain he would feel, but then again with out that pain he would never grow stronger. Strong is what he needed to be. "this world is full of danger" he said to himself trying to take his mind off walking "I need to be able to beat it to live" the thought seemed a theme this trip.

The morning rays fought to brake through the clutter of trees above, and the ground started to become full of rocks. This would be the worst time to fall, and his body was starting to tire out. Decided that it would be wise to take a break he let the deer down to the ground, and sent out a question to the sky 'you up?' the wind above rustled as the Endal waited for a response.

Red was sure that the Wind Eagle was out stretching his wings, and most likely finding something to eat. Taking a few more minutes of rest the Inarta found himself standing up and pulling his talon sword the smooth metal lighting like flames as he bounced rays of light to distant trees. The weapon was truly a beautiful thing, and the art of wielding one was graceful like the wind. Moving the blade around his head he started through some training exercises hoping that he might warm his body and work through the soreness.

The talon blade moved through the air first as a gentle breeze might pass through a wooded area. It was slow slicing though the air as Red brought it across his imaginary foe, and the turning his body at the same pace drew another line as he sliced a foe behind him. The slow movement brought little pain as the Endal breathed in the crisp morning air, and then brought his blade back smelling the morning wind bring the scent of fall before pushing the shining blade forward to thrust into air.

All at once Red started to move faster, and what once was a slow movement like the breeze became a storm of blows. The whirl-wind of blows that struck out against the air was a stunning display as Red whipped around bring his blade down, up, across left and right. The Endal started adding more movement as he dunked under a swing at his head, then dodged a jab at his side, and then following up with his own by pulling his talon blade with two hands across the air.

Sweat fell to the ground as the Endal finished, and brought the storm to a end. Falling back against a tree there was a sense of pleasure at his practice. Partly because the man enjoyed a good work out, and partly because not but a few years ago Red would never have been able to pull off such a feet.

'Impressive display as always' a voice sounded off in Red's head, and a grin grew on the Endal's face.

'I was wondering when you were going to show up' the Endal sent back playfully as he cleaned his forehead of sweat 'have you chosen a good pick up?'

'indeed, i have just about a hours walk west of you'

'lovely' and with that Red drew the stag to his body now tense from his work out. The Endal felt powerful now his body seemed in shape, and he ignored it's cries of pain as he pushed himself to walk on. The next hour was different with Daghul about, and Red walked with a different aura about him.

As Red entered into the clearing he estimated the time to be around ten in the morning. All in all good time had been made. There was a odd saddness about leaving the unforgiving these hunting grounds thought full of danger gave Red a escape. This place gave him adventure, but what he found odd is no mater where he was, or where he went he never was truly alone. Then with that thought he mounted the great bird, and with the prize in hand the two took to the sky as rider and eagle.
