85th of Fall, AV 512
Elem rose early, as he found himself doing more and more often lately. Between his nightly visits to the beach and his long workouts during the day, one would expect him to be sapped, lying in bed all day. However, his new studies did nothing but enhance his vitality and zest for life. Not to mention that Winter would give plenty of free time to sleep. He had the comfort of the Underground section of the Sanctuary and his bed, but many of the animals did not have this luxury, as the Zith attack had made plain.
He found his belt a necessity of late, as his body was becoming leaner than it was when he had first purchased it. Donning some linen pants and his low boots and stuffing a few pair of canvas and leather gloves into his belt, he grabbed a linen shirt and leather jerkin, making his way toward the grounds above. Skipping his exercise routine for the time being, Elem expected plenty of physical activity, as this was the day that he and Kavala would work on the barns for many of the four legged residents of the Sanctuary. It gave him a good feeling to know he was helping to shelter so many important lives.
The weather wasn't the greatest, with dark clouds out over the Suvan and a chilly breeze blowing in. The movement of the storms were north to south, parallel to their location. Elem said a quiet prayer of thanks to Zulrav for that blessing. With the time of year that it was, he didn't really expect it to be much better. At least it wouldn't be raining. The two had agreed to begin at the front of the facility, since the goat and pig barn were close together and would also help to frame up the entrance a good deal. Elem saw the tools that Kavala had brought up and slid his leather gloves on. He could hear the telltale sound of earth moving which meant Kavala was nearby..
