[Pavi Lake]The Wetness of Water

71 Fall 512

Really, Clyde had been feeling it coming on for awhile know... Slowly but surely, he was expanding his senses. And as he used his reimancy, he could feel a gentle tug, in a new direction. It was reminiscent of when he had unlocked the earth element... And the only one left, was water... So he knew which it would be... Today he had woken up with a vibration in his djed, with a feeling on the tip of his tongue of an unsaid word... Something so close, but not yet...

So that is why he had ended up here. Here at this odd little lake, with its odd ruined structures from some unknown building, for some unknown purpose. These odd little structures, and this big lake, seemed like the right spot to do this... To open up the final doorway to his reimancy, and truly become a master... For he knew, the strength of a reimancer was marked by the number of elements they could control... And with this, he would be able to do all.

So Clyde sat at the edge of the waters, sitting with his legs crossed, his staff resting across his legs. Rye was resting a bit behind him, not asleep, but keeping his body low, and resting his muscles. He would make sure to alert him if something tried to sneak up on him. He did not need to worry about his front, since that was the water, and he highly doubted anyone or anything would be coming out of the lake to attack him.

He let out a sigh, and cleared his mind, trying to meditate, and prepare himself... An odd thought occurred to him... What did waters aura look like? And what would a lakes aura look like?

I am actually in RL a super intelligent hamster from Rhode Island, with a 7 year plan to take over the world.

Update 6/2/18- 1:10AM EST: His 7 year plan a success, and several weeks ahead of schedule, Clyde leaves to oversee the world he has taken over.

No new threads after end of Spring 518-Will still be checking for PM's occasionally, but focusing on a new character.

Graders note: :
Please be aware Clyde is a master Magecrafter. He therefore should not be gaining full xp(or possibly shouldn't gain any at all) for simple tasks related to this magic, such as low level MC items, particularly for repetitions of creations he has done before. Feel free to contact me if unsure of a instance of his magic use compared to his skill level.

[Pavi Lake]The Wetness of Water

Postby Clyde Sullins on November 19th, 2012, 3:25 pm

Clyde let out another breath, and tried to calm his mind... He pushed all other thoughts out of it, freeing himself, ignoring the touch of the ground on his rear... The smell of salt on the air from the lake... Well, he tried to do so, but admittedly he was no expert in the art of meditation, and mainly just ended up closing his eyes and looking at the inside of his eyelids, trying to keep his mind inward...

He began his usual exercise, that of picturing a flame flickering alone in darkness, which usually seemed to help... But considering what he was doing here today, that seemed a bit silly... So instead he imagined a single drop of water... Also alone in darkness... He watched as it fell through the black ether, to splash on some unseen rock... Tried to picture it as the droplet struck, and exploded... Then slowly reformed it, into a small ball of water... Then formed in his mind it suddenly dropping, falling once more...

This circuitous exercise seemed to have done the job, and perhaps could be another meditation routine he used...

Before opening his eyes, he began shunting djed to his forehead, in preparation to open his aura vision... He let it well up and build for a chime, before satisfied he was ready... Then he pushed the djed into his eyes, at the same moment as he opened them.

As he looked out, at first there was nothing to see in his aura vision, just the same landscape and water as before he closed his eyes... But then he drew his focus to the lake before him, trying to draw out its aura and inspect it... As he focused, a odd blue aura began extending out of it, rather thin and small, until it fell to the edge of his aura vision not to far away into the lake, and faded to nothing. It was more like one big aura, a homogenized whole entity, of the lake... At least as far as he could see. Surely if he had better range, he could see out into the lake and its depth, see the creatures living in it, the fish and such.

As it was, he was only looking at a chunk of the lake within a few meters of him. Maybe ten or 15 feet... After that, the image of the aura withered so much, he could not even see it in his minds eye, let alone his aura vision.

Clyde focused on a bit of the lake closer to the shore, and closer to himself, so easier to read. He delved into its aura, trying to pick out what info he could...

As he did, its physical sensations ran across his skin. He could taste the water on his tongue, salty... Feel it going across his skin, wet and flowing...

He let out a splutter as he smelled the water, its thick vapor of salt overpowering him, and he fell back from his seated position.

Done with his narrow reading, he cut off the flow of djed to his eyes, content he knew water a bit better than before... He let out a slow breath, trying to clear his mind of the residual feelings... He could still taste the saltiness on his tongue... But slowly it diminished and faded away, as the thin little aura exuded by the water of the lake did.

Now done with that bit, he stretched, and sat himself back up, with his legs crossed. He held both of his hands out palm up, and began exuding droplets of res out of his hands, and focused them into a small ball between them, letting it float there... He grew it for a moment, until it was a small ball, and then he floated it forward, out over the waters of the lake... With a small downward twitch of his index finger on his left hand, the ball of res moved downward, hovering inches above the waters surface..

[Pavi Lake]The Wetness of Water

Clyde focused on his res, feeling the thrum of djed inside of it... Inside of himself... As he was the res, it was a part of him, admittedly no longer inside the vessel of his body... But it was still him. He could feel it as a presence on the edge of his mind, still a part of him, under the influence of his will, under his control... He lowered the ball of res a bit more, watching as he/it splashed into the water...

He could feel the waters pressing on the boundary of his form, tiny as it was... It was so easy to call to it, using a slightly different tone than the other elements, but almost by instinct he sensed it and knew what to do... How to make the sound, which vibrated out of his being, consisting of a tiny sphere of res...

He mated with it, pulling it in, gathering it around him, and slowly moving through the water, sloshing around, sending out small ripples of water... Gathering water to himself, and pulling and swirling it in a circle...

From his own body he could sense all of this, watched as his res attracted in the water, pulling it to its form... Slowly he flattened out the ball of res into a disc, and began swirling the waters around its edges, making the water spin and whirl around it...

Inside of the water, he had changed his shape, narrowing and flattening until he was a large thin circle, much better for manipulating the waters as he chose... He slowly sped up, keeping up the current, flowing it faster and faster, increasing the rotation, feeling joy as he triumphed over what he had done, feeling as the water slowly shifted, a narrow depression, widening out until there was a swirling vortex of water beneath him, larger than himself, cast up by his movements and constant shifting of the way he was applying his attraction. It grew and grew, till there was a hole in the lake, swirling around him, deepening, pulling in more water slowly. A great maw opening up caused by him, he could sense, as the last of him was consumed, the last of the res spent, and he dissolved into nothing, feeling the joyous call of the water as it danced...

From his body, Clyde looked on, as he perturbed the water, and smiled a bit as he saw what he had done. He had used the tiny ball of res, and made a small whirlpool, a few inches across... He could only imagine what a scaled up version of that might be capable of... And also, for some odd reason, he felt like it already was a huge accomplishment, if seen from the right scale... From his perspective though, it was tiny and insignificant, just a little whirling vortex inches across, slowly diminishing and dissolving as the last of the ball of res was used, and there was no longer a influence affecting and shaping the waters.

He stretched a bit, only know realizing he had been sitting here for well over a bell, while he had worked on this new element... It certainly had not seemed that long to him.

He smiled, standing up gingerly, feeling a bit of a crick in his back, and popping his neck once, before bending over and scratching Rye behind the ears.

"Good boy. Lets head out now. You deserve a good meal after sitting there for so long."

Stretching once more, Clyde looked back at the lake one final time, feeling a kinship to it in a odd way, after examining its aura, and manipulating it with his water reimancy... Certainly he would never forget it, as it was the place he had first done water reimancy. Perhaps one day the place would be famous for it, when he became a powerful Mizahar renowned mage. He could almost imagine the sign posted there, saying so.

With a small smile on his lips, and thinking happy thoughts of the future and its possibilities, Clyde left, heading back to were he could get a meal for himself and Rye, and a nice rest He was rather tuckered out, mostly from his auristics, but it had been a long session regardless.
