Kalinor CS Template Physical Description Name: Ladivan Amarillys Race: Symenestra Age: 29 Birthday: 5th of Fall, 483AV As a child, Ladivan's hair was pure white, but in adulthood it has darkened slightly. It is kept at a decent length, a bit longer in front, framing his pallid features. His eyes are a light shade of yellow, which have a tendency to look empty and unfeeling. Ladivan tries to compensate by being glib and expressive. Like the rest of his kind, he possesses a light, long-limbed frame, roughly six feet high and slender of build. Character Concept A patient, pragmatic figure. With his own kind, Ladivan is quiet, considerate, and even warm. He is the defacto patriarch of the Amaryllis Web after the death of his father, despite being second born. Whilst among the sunborn, Ladivan is a more ruthless rendition of his usual self. He retains the same warmth, but now with an ulterior motive. The same kindness he shows his kin is now used to deceive and persuade. Ladivan got into the trade of wine making with his brother at a young age. His sister-in-law's family had partial ownership of a small vineyard above ground, one of the few crops sewed and tended by the Symenestra. As Kalinor relies on glass imports for making bottles, much of the wine sits aging in caskets before it is able to be bottled. In his spare time, Ladivan enjoys playing his violin. His wife, a musician by trade, often joins him with her harp. She is very polite with him about his sore lack of ability. Immediate family: Father: Tsarevar Amaryllis (deceased) Mother: Saravelle Amaryllis (nee Orchid) Elder Brother: Vakinya Amaryllis Younger Sister: Ysonya Durian (nee Amaryllis) Wife: Anvera Amaryllis (nee Impatiens) Son: Tsaverin Amaryllis Character History Being an Amaryllis, Ladivan was born to one of the smaller families of Kalinor. By reputation, the Amaryllises are known for small family sizes, commonly consisting of two children rather than three. Blood born Amaryllises are also famously unlucky in matters of health, and it is a common rumor that Amaryllis men die young - in their forties or fifties. Supposedly, the small family sizes are attributed to traditional caution: fewer harvests means less risk for the harvesters and their families. Ladivan was fortunate enough to have two siblings, an elder brother Vakinya and younger sister Ysonya. The two youngest, Ladivan and Ysonya, are considered "twins" because their uncle brought home two surrogates from a single harvest. Ladivan is only slightly older, as he was sired first. All of of the Amaryllis children were married by their mid twenties, even Vakinya despite his poor health. There was some doubt however as to whether Vakinya would be able to carry out harvests when the time came. Since childhood, he had struggled with frailty and poor constitution, having been ravaged by illness during infancy. His one and only Gleaning ended in disaster when he fell deathly ill while in Alvadas. The Gleaning was forfeit and he was brought home where he was bed ridden for a month. Not wanting the Amaryllises to rely on their spouse's siblings for children, Ladivan recognized a need for someone to come forward and take the torch from his brother's feeble hands. Without being asked, Ladivan volunteered to take on the responsibilties and burdens usually assigned to the firstborn, so long as Vakinya took the duties usually given to the second. His father gratefully approved, relieved that his bloodline would be redeemed. Ladivan has now completed three successful harvests, having fathered a son and granted a child to both of his siblings.
