Yankotsu much fancies the presence of the opposite sex and on the nights with no work, he enjoys hunting and courting a beautiful woman to occupy him for the night. Many nights on the streets have led to brawls through his life, and he enjoyed it greatly. Fighting is by far the most fun of which Yankotsu finds himself most at home, and tends to only search for them when the time is right, but also enjoys jumping into fights that he has no say in simply for the thrill. A very long time ago Yankotsu has come to accept the fact that he is what others might consider, an evil man, and is proud of that title. Character History Yankotsu Akatsumi was born in the summer of 492, in the town of Nyka along with a twin brother named Hoaku. One month before their tenth birthday their parents took their children and relocated into a small cottage in the wild alongside a cliff not far from the rim of the neighboring forest. The cottage was built by his father, Suison Akatsumi. Using his swordsmanship and his wife, Rain's, protective magic they managed to keep themselves safe. Yankotsu and Hoaku lived a very free life. They enjoyed stick fighting with their father's instructions, playing hide and seek in the forest, and studying the books of their parents. they each also had their fair share of chores as well of course. Yankotsu took the more strain full chores such as chopping wood, leaving the others like cooking to his brother. While others would sleep he would use the time to look at the books. Learning was his favorite pastime, and did it at all opportunities. On Yankotsu's tenth birthday his family had a big birthday party for the brothers. His mother baked a big cake, and his father had made them each a belt made of dire fox leather. The belts were dyed black, and had their names burned into the fronts. Inside the names were imprinted the golden hairs of the dire foxes they were made out of. These were very special belts and would of cost what Yankotsu assumed to be a fortune. The entire family had a good night of laughing and enjoying the day the twins were born. This joy however did not last long. The following day Yankotsu and Hoaku went playing in the forest. After only a few minutes away from the home they heard the sound of an explosion, followed by the scream of their mother. The brothers looked over at each other, fear shot through them, and they ran to the house. As they reached the edge of the forest all they seen were flames as smoke blackened the sky. The house was burning down, the wall facing the forest was already demolished, and standing at the center of the flames was monster neither had ever seen, Yankotsu assumed it was known as a Flora. The creature was tall enough to reach the roof of the house, the whole body was covered in a thick rough and wore skin and in the gaps of the body flames shot out spreading everywhere. The body was divided into three section, all linked together with what appeared to be a tentacle like substance, each section had it's own set of three arms. The whole monster floated, as it did not move, the pieces that were inactive floated around and switch positions with the other inactive ones. However at this moment the middle section was active, as it held their mother with two of it's arms spreading her in the air in front of it. Using the third arm it plunged threw her chest, and in it's hand as it passed was the soul of Rain, until it was absorbed into the hand of the Flora. As that happened Suison's cry and anger filled the air, as he raised from the ground, with one arm singed away from the monster's initial attack, and lunged his sword for the mass that had killed his wife. His attempt at revenge however was blown away as the current bottom section shot a charge of flame, connecting with Suison still feet away. Watching both of their parents being killing in front of them, Yankotsu was frozen with fear and could not move, yet Hoaku was furious, for he ran head first at the beast. Yankotsu snapped to his senses too late, and as he shouted for his brother to stop the monster had already done the same to him as his mother. The Flora noticed Yankotsu thanks to this, and as it came closer Yankotsu noticed it's true body. What he had thought was the flesh of the beast was actually chunks of stone and earth floating around a flameing core, the tentacle connecting them was actually a live vine substance, and the gaps were scars from the years of others trying to slay this creature but failing, and the flames all consisted the faces of the souls that were slain and captured by this monster. Looking deep inside them he seen the newly added faces of Rain and Hoaku. This sight is what it took. He did not want to join them. He ran, and he ran fast. Knowing the forest was a big advantage for him as he quickly slid his way through the trees like a snake, leaving the mass of fire to clash it's way through the trees by force. this forest however did not last forever, and the cliff seemed to approach out of nowhere. Yankotsu had no time to hesitate, as the ancient being was closing in. Yankotsu jumped down the cliff, and fell deep into ocean below. Some time later Yankotsu arrived at the city of Nyka. Pulled into the town by a man walking by, he pushed the water out of his lungs. Yankotsu awoke from his slumber soaking wet, hurting all over, and bleeding from his head. Apparently he had hit it on rocks during his fall, knocking him out. As he looked around he quickly realized he was in a place he did not know, nor did he know who he even was for that matter. All of his memory had been erased. The passive feeling of fear still rushed through him tho, and for the reason alone he ran fast and far away. The belt around his waist the only name he knew, and the only thing he owned. For the next ten years he would survive alone and living as a thief on the streets. He used merchant ships, sometimes without permission, to move from city to city to keep from being too known as a thief and attracting any law or enemies.. While living in Syliras he was trained in the ways of Reimancy, but after a few years continued to move. Now at the age of twenty Yankotsu arrives at the docks of Zeltiva to begin a new, possibly permanent, life. Possessions
