55th Day, Winter, 512
It was about midday in the city of Syliras, with the marketplace in it's usual hustle and bustle. Merchants were busy trying to get customers into their shops, while the blacksmiths hammered away at their pieces. Nobody remained still for long... Well, except one person.
Shorik Malentfeis sighed as he leaned against the wall of a shop. He had spent the morning looking for any sort of job opening, with no success. At first, the young man couldn't help but chuckle at the irony. Syliras, a city which had a reputation for being able to put anyone and everyone to work, was completely dry for once. However, it began to irritate Shorik slightly. He had been planning to start traveling beyond the Sylira area for the first time, and wanted to acquire some funds to better prepare him for the trip. Of course, with no jobs available, that meant no money.
Hmm... maybe the knights have a job I can take... Wait, wouldn't they just send their own knights for that?
At that moment, Shorik noticed a Syliran Squire walking by. Normally, that wouldn't catch Shorik's eye. However, this one was wearing light armour... Something the young man hadn't been accustomed to seeing on Syliran Knights. As a result of his surprise, he accidentally stared at the squire for a few moments, before shaking his head, and looking elsewhere nonchalantly.
Don't want to test the rumors that you could get arrested for looking at them funny...
