Fight fair? What a ridicules notion. What utter nonsense, foolishness it was to even entertain such a thought. In combat there was no
fair. There was no honor, no right nor wrong. There was simply death, and those that escaped it. It was not about how you fought, but whether or not you survived to claim victory.
Evalin was disadvantaged. She could see it now, perhaps more so than even before.
He sees you... an observation that needed no words, for Evalin saw how the man kept her from gaining his back,
His movements, his actions. He did not flinch despite your efforts. He was not thrown off guard. This bodes ill for you, for it is clear who has the greater battle experience...Petch... She was outclassed, out experienced. There was simply no way she could endure a prolonged conflict. Even she, a novice in all things battle, knew this much.
I cannot let him get close... She thought, collecting res in her palms as she found her back to the open portal once more,
Then a change in tactic is needed.Using her momentum she quickly circled around the gateway once more, putting the now fully risen creature between herself and Ximal. It stood a good three inches taller than Ximal himself. Its left arm was large and difformed, while its right was more or less normal in size. The left hand was also missing two fingers. Slowly it stepped out of the ring, shuffling forward with a distant, rather vague expression on its face.
"My child, how amusing you choose to speak to me now while in the midsts of combat. I do not know if that is confidence or foolishness." Evalin laughed, eyes burning red from across the portal. This was what she needed. Time. Time to prepare, and she narrowed her eyes at the back of Diverse. She could see them, the chains that bound the creature to the portal, to her will, invisible to all but those who had the true power of sight. At a thought the chains tighten, and the deformed man roared, stumbling forward toward Ximal. The Diverse was not fast, but Evalin knew that what it lacked in speed it made up for in raw strength. Perhaps she could buy just a bit of time with this, and then from the portal another hand emerged, smaller and thinner as it grasped at the sides of the circle to pull itself up as well.
The res Evalin collected in her palms swirled and stirred by her power, and Evalin hissed a stream of words neither common nor ancient tongue as she stared daggers at Ximal. Flinging her hands out she sent the balls of res flying around the portal, adding to the mass of energy the rest of the concealed res from within her cloak until they made two miss sharpen balls about the size of her torso. Twisting her fingers into claws she guided the power with her arms, directing the res to swing around the Diverse and head directly for Ximal.
"Hakin!" The res ignite as the two new fireballs streaked toward Ximal, coming at him at an angle from either side while the diverse lumbered at him from the front, its large left arm raising to strike.
As soon as the res was ignited Evalin felled the pull on her strength, could already feel the light headiness coming upon her, yet she could not stop no. No... Now was time to create her greatest spell. Clapping her hands together in front of her she hissed long and low under her breath, pulling more djed from its resting place to conjure another large stream of res to pour out from every pore on her body until she was surrounded by a cloud of heat waves twice as wide as she was tall. The second diverse was also pulling itself free, this one more normal sized, though his bones bulged beneath his skin, twisting his skeleton into an odd spiny structure.
Tsenrika flew over the battle field, observing, always observing, and watching closely what Ximal might do next. If his master was to survive, he had to do everything in his power to keep her two steps ahead at all times.
Evalin knew this was a gamble. She was throwing everything at Ximal from the very start, and if it didn't work... Well she did not dwell upon that. She did not seek a showage of strength. She wanted to eradicate Ximal completely. She wanted his blood. She wanted him to hurt so that she could once more feel powerful. Evalin was dangerous, because this was not a lesson to her. This was mortal combat. Her pride commanded she give him all she had. Thus she would see him burn if he was not careful.
OOCMost of what happened was in very quick succession. Evalin is burning through her reserves very fast in an effort to completely overpower Ximal. In the next post the 2nd Diverse will be freed and start heading toward Ximal as well. That one is quicker, about average human speed, and is out for blood as is his brother. Let me know if I need to change anything. This is my first time using summoning in combat so don't hesitate to PM if need be ^.^
