Aela flicked her wrists and rubbed her hands together, trying to bring a bit of warmth into her icy flesh. The teen smiled in triumph when the dark haired woman gave up, but was too busy shielding her frozen fingers to attempt another attack. Snow balls were flying about in different directions and the laughter of the yasi filled the courtyard. A quick glance around and she noticed that they were short one fiery redhead.

"Wait..What happened to..?"

She waved the woman over after she moved closer and out of the little Avora's line of sight. She hadn't seen the woman leave, and it had only been ticks since she had last spotted her. Once the dark haired woman had crossed over, her hazel eyes moved across the patches of white still covering the ground until they rose upon the small wall of snow in the short distance. It came to her then, and her lips curved upward with the realization. However she had been too slow, and she watched at the crimson hair rose from between the snow, as the woman started to pelt them both with snow.

"She's hiding!!"

Aela ducked quickly and covered her head as she wandered, and jumped left then right to get away from the snow balls coming towards them. Suddenly the yasi joined Araida and they all came together to bomb Aela and her dark haired team mate. The girl jumped and tried her best to swat away a few of the snow balls while others splattered upon her bare arms and shoulders. "Holy petch! That's cold.." After taking enough icy punishment, Aela dropped to her knees and once again dug her fingers into the snow. She patted it tightly, making quick and tiny snow balls for faster use.

Jumping back to her feet, the tiny Avora turned a spin on her heels and let loose. She raised her arms as she turned and released a snow ball towards the yasi and another towards her fiery redheaded friend. Leaning down again, she scooped up more snow, formed it into orals and then rose to toss them about. The next morning she would probably be sick with a cold, but for now she was just having fun.

A Shovelin' Snow

Postby Eilea on April 11th, 2013, 1:25 am

The Vantha went with the blonde and the two of them began to build many snowballs. To be “fair”, Eilea didn't do anything special to them. In fact, she barely packed them together, figuring that they'd fall apart in midair anyways. They were molded to be small and simple. Eilea watched the area as there were many squeals and hushes of excitement.

There was something in particular that stood out in Eilea's sight. Her blonde partner in crime was cold. Her fingers had turned red and were shaking. She looked around, spotting some of the younger ones, the yasi nearby and relaised some were also cold, but enjoying it while they could. As comfortable as Eilea felt in the snow as opposed to warm weather, she still felt the chill in the air. But, many around her were not dressed for the weather. She figured that after a few more rounds of snowball fights, they'd have to call it quits. The last thing anyone needed was frozen fingers and toes or even catching a sickness.

The blonde's words pulled her from her thoughts. “Of course she's hiding!” She said in agreement, but then there was movement.

“Eek!” Eilea let out a surprised scream as several snowballs hit her at once. It seemed as if the red haired girl had arranged an attack. “Well, now... That won't do!” The vantha said out loud, looking to the blonde with a smile. The red head had disappeared from view again, but the echo of laugher held her place. Eilea's eyes changed colors as she gave the blonde a mischievous grin. “Are you thinking what I'm thinking?” She obviously was.

And they were off, snowballs heading straight towards where the red head had been. Eilea took her small snowballs, holding about three in each hand and moved to the side, hoping to add some surprise tot he little ordeal. She moved quickly, half jogging around the main part of the fight. As she got closer, a snowball hit her straight in the face. Out of reflex, she threw the snowballs in her hands forward, towards the unknown culprit, then collapsed into the snow with laugher. For several moments she sat the laughing and brushing the snow off of her. There was some more commotion, several more snowballs in the air.

Quickly, she pushed the snow up in front of her and leaned on it, waiting for anything else to happen.

A Shovelin' Snow

Aradia was too busy laughing to give thought to hide herself better. Once her laughter began to die down, she soon realized that her hiding spot had been compromised. The Singer scrambled to get behind her heap of snow, but it was too late. There were snowballs heading her way, one after the other. She rolled and tried to dodge most of them, but a few small snowballs pelted her on the side. ”Shyke!” Aradia yelled in common, rolling to her feet.

Standing up was not the best idea either, because the dark haired woman had moved closer to her snow heap. Before the Vantha could do anything though, one of the Yasi had let loose a snow ball that hit her in the face. Aradia gasped, then laughed at the girl’s facial expression. Unfortunately, the dark haired woman let loose her snowballs when she was hit. Aradia ducked and moved to the left, then back to the right, and was hit by one of the snow balls on the shoulder.

Aradia raised up her hands in surrender, ”I give, I give!” Aradia said between giggles. She was quite frozen, and was tired of the icy snowballs pelting her exposed skin. Her whole body felt red and numb from the cold, ”We need to get back to shoveling before the Avora and Endal come back and punish the Yasi again. I don’t want them to get into double trouble.” Aradia explained in common to the women with a warm smile. She liked to have fun, but there was a job that needed to be done that the Yasi had to do. And she was not wanting to be blamed if they got into more trouble, that would break her heart. She could handle getting into trouble. ”You two can help us if you would like, but if you have other places to be, that is okay too.” Aradia said honestly, with a half-smile as she picked up her shovel and began to shovel snow once more. She wanted to hurry up and get it done, the sooner it was done, the sooner the Yasi could go back to playing.

Snow balls continued to fly across the sky, and the path that had been cleared was now covered in fresh snow pebbles and bits. But everyone was having fun and putting in one last snow fight before it was completely gone for the season. Aela worked with her new team mate to fail back the yasi and their red headed leader until she gave up and sent them back to work.

Aela made a soft squeal as she started to rub her hands together. The gnosis of Ivak kept her body a bit warmer than others but she still felt the icy chill from the snow. She gave a soft giggle and nodded once all the fun was over and it was time to be back to work. That had been the reason that she stepped into the court yard after all. "That was fun." she said with a smile towards the woman with the dark hair. "But now I'm so freezing.."

The little Avora stepped away and found herself a shovel to use and started to help with the clean up. She exchanged glances with the woman and with the yasi here and there. A wink here, a smile there in memory of their fun little snow war. It took a while, but soon she started to have a small mountain of snow of her own to hide behind, but that part of the trip was over and it was all work from here.

Aela was in a good mood, and even though her limbs were trying to freeze, she found her warmth again from the excitement that she had just had. Then something else happened, and without really realizing that she was doing it, Aela started to sing, though her song wasn't anything good.

"On top of the mountain.."

"It's where I belong.."

"I let my wings fly.."

"Out on the other side.."

"A world I'm not a part of."

"Though I'll soar high above"

"This valley with walls."

"And I will remain free.."

She paused when she glanced up and saw a few people staring at her. They must have thought she sounded horrible, there was a reason she only sung when she was alone, and so the little Inartan hushed herself and went back to shoveling snow.

A Shovelin' Snow

The snowballs began to slow down. Everyone was getting too cold as well as tired. But at least it would be a wonderful memory for the beginning of Spring. The red head surrendered. Several of the Yasi did as well. It was time to stop.

As the red head explained the situation, Eilea nodded, taking in every word. Part of her felt bad for encouraging the snow fight when there was work to be done, but at the same time, the smiles, the happiness that came out of it, pleased the Vantha more than she could imagine. With no hesitation, Eilea stated kindly, “Alright, then let me help as well.” One of the Yasi held out a shovel for her. The woman took the tool and smiled softly. “Thanks!” She walked over to the other side, behind the red head and began to push the snow to the side with the shovel. Every so often, she'd look between the two older girls and the younger ones, sending happy, encouraging smiles their way.

As the blonde began to sing, Eilea hummed along, happily. It had been a while since she had heard someone sing in such a simple way, while working. When the girl apologized and stopped, the Vantha couldn't have any of that. She held the shovel over her shoulder and walked over to the blonde, glancing every so often at the red haired girl.

“Don't stop!” She said. “Music makes everything better.” She glanced around again, then started to shovel next to the blonde. “How about this, I'll sing with you!” Eilea looked over to the red head and whistled. “Hey, would you like to sing with us, it'll get the job done in a more... entertaining manner! What say you?” She pushed another amount of snow to the side, creating a small hill.

With a deep breathe and an embarrassed grin, the girl opened her mouth and tried to mimic the same tune that the blonde was singing before. “On top of a mountain, where I belong...” She began, hoping that the blonde would join in, even though she was sure the words weren't correctly being used.

A Shovelin' Snow

Aela was more than shocked when her snow throwing companion said that she should continue to sing. For a moment there, the little Avora had expected her outburst to start a new snow ball fight that ended up with her burred under it all. Hearing that someone liked her bad singing was nice, but she still wasn't as ready to do it consciously.

"Oh no..no. I'm no singer." she pleaded.

However it seemed that the dark haired woman would have none of it. Glancing around, Aela could hear a few giggles and others attempting to spur her into action, but she wasn't sure if this was genuine, or if they simply wanted a good laugh. The blonde chuckled and shrugged off her inner thoughts. Maybe singing would make their volunteer chore go by faster.

"Alright fine, but you just remember that you asked me too." she said to the woman while trying to keep a straight face. It was hard to do, knowing that the sound that was about to come out would likely scare off everyone around her.

"On top of the mountain.."

"It's where I belong.."

Aela glanced over towards them again, gently nudging the woman's arm as she looked at her. "Do you see what you've started?" she ended with a light chuckle before resuming the song.

"I let my wings fly.."

"Out on the other side.."

The teen just knew that she must have sounded bad, she had too, and the others who had gone silent made her feel even worse. Suddenly Aela was singing for the group while they worked away the snow, and it made it hard for her to concentrate on either task. "Come on, you gonna sing too, okay?" This time she made her point by reaching down and creating a tiny snowball in her hands and throwing it at her.

"A world I'm not a part of."

"Though I'll soar high above"

The wanna-be singer paused a tick to clear her throat and tried to find her voice again, or a tone that sounded more pleasant and less like she had a cold.

"This valley with walls."

"And I will remain free.."

Once she finished the song the second time around, Aela bit her lip and pushed at the dark haired girl's shoulder again. "Okay that's it..I'm done...I'm done!"

A Shovelin' Snow

Postby Eilea on May 15th, 2013, 10:45 pm

The Vantha smiled widely as the blonde began again, singing her heart out. As she shoveled a few more piles of snow, Eilea paid close attention to the words that were being sung and kept them close to her heart. She whispered the words to herself, trying to commit them to memory. "On top of the mountain, it's where I belong." Eilea half wanted to say, "Fearless, daring, and strong", but then the blonde seemed nervous. She didn't seem to liek the attention that was being given.

When she threw a snowball, Eilea just broke out into a fit of laughter. It was too cute. "Okay, okay!" She finally agreed, "I don't know the words, but I'll sing too."

And the blonde began to sing again, with Eilea mimicking the words after her, "A world I'm not part of... Though I'll soar high above..." A memory of her mother clouded her thoughts as the blonde cleared her throat. When she continued, the Vantha didn't join in, she only listened to the words, taking them to heart. And then the girl was done, she jokingly pushed at Eilea's shoulder.

"I do not hear impromptu singing very often, anymore." She said with a slight frown. "To be honest, the last song I heard was back home." She admitted with a smile. "This was nice, hearing you sing the way you do. I do not remember the last time I heard a song that was not in Vani." She gave the girl a small hug, before moving towards the side.

"I think we're almost done here." She looked around as the courtyard was almost completely clear. The girl shoveled a few more spots, being careful not to miss anything, before moving back towards the blond.

"I had a lot of fun, thank you for that." She looked around to everyone in the area, the Yasi included. "Actually thank you everyone. I love snowball fights! Though, I should probably get back. This has been great though!"

OOCSorry for such a late reply! Finally getting caught up on everything. If you like we can just end the thread here, I'm not too sure what else to do with it.
