A Deadly Hunt

Azcadelia Rosan

It had been a few moments since Azcadelia had come below decks - fleeing from the shouting of a hotheaded teen and just as she had settled back in more shouting had ensued. This time the captain, that had went toward the upper decks chimes earlier, was heard shouting about Kelvic and an assortment of other things that hadn't taken interest with the crimson haired woman.

What did stick to the tantalizing tandrels in her mind was the fact that the girl, Akilia, was a Kelvic. That is what had been different about her. Her smell, her swagger and speech all rang bells pointing towards something different but it had been baffling Azcadelia. The maiden cursed her disability in reading people better but, slowly but surely, it was getting better with each victim.

Rising from her resting position on a crate near her small satchel of goods she slipped on her slippers and headed for the upper decks. With each step she carefully crept up them - to not fall on the rocking ship - until her eyes were bleached by the sunlight that was slowly fading in the sky. Now above decks she braced herself for the rocking of the boat and scanned the wooden panels of the floor that doubled as the ceiling underneath. To her surprise, near a pile of clothing, was a cinnamon coloured wolf. Its fur was stunningly silky and eyes were piercing indeed. The wolf looked as if it was taking in the tell tale scents of the salty sea and musty men. Hopefully Azcadelia's fragrance wasn't making the effort futile.

"Boy," she called to the sandy blonde teen, "what's happened?"

Before the child could answer however the captain shouted to her first. "That ship we're following just shot off an arc of light. It was blinding but it couldn't demoralize us. We're staying on course and preparing for a battle. Since yer a Reimancy user could you charge of some of the djed of yours for this fight to come," he barked, the last bit an order, not a request.

Azcadelia took second to register the information she had received. If the ship could emit light without an obvious source then it would mean a wizard of sorts had to be on the ship - which meant another battle with a mage. Mages were Azcadelia's favourite enemies as they would use a technique familiar to she: magic. Mages were always unfamiliar in the way that they all could use magic in anyway they liked. Seeing as there were nearly limitless ways to conduct their magic and bend it to their will it made it impossible to have a scripted way to fight a skilled magus.

Azcadelia began the motions of readying her djed for a fierce fight to follow. This would take all the training that she had put up thus far. This would be a supreme time to test any and all abilities that she had learned and even a way to go over the exercises that her mother would in preparation for a battle. She slipped off her slippers, pulled up her hair and began a slow method of motions that ended with her in a position of extreme concentration. Her legs were crossed and her mind was blank only the waves making a dent in her concentration. Eventually even those were swallowed up in the blanket of her mind.

A Deadly Hunt

Postby Scarlet Evony on April 30th, 2013, 7:25 pm

Recovering from the shock of the initial blow, Scarlet didn’t waste a moment’s notice with other unnecessary words. Turning back into her bird form, she took for the rest of the boats to give her report on the pursued ship. Most of the ones who received the reports were Lias at the command of their ships or clusters of other ships. The rest were being led by some mercenary commanders of human origin from Syliras. However, during her flight, Scarlet couldn’t help get out that stare from her mind. Sure, it had been from a distance, but the red eyes looking deep within her soul had embedded themselves deep into her memory, as if branded with red iron. Her eyesight was still dimmed, more so in her eagle form rather than the human one, but she was sure it would be a passing effect. There was no history of somebody blinded by lightning.

Landing on a ship, she saw an amalgam of creatures on it. Two were human, of that she was sure. There was a dog, and something else. As soon as she landed Scarlet felt repulsed by this ship. However, it needed to be done. She shifted back into her human form and initiated conversation with the one who seemed to know to communicate best on this ship (Ethen) “The ship is big enough for a probable of two hundred people , though I doubt they are this many. However, they’ve got mages. I’ve seen three, dressed in a most peculiar manner. One with black robes, one in blue and red; the other…” Scarlet stopped, almost afraid to mention the third mage, the one who almost shot her out of the sky. “… White, with golden markings. Possibly red eyes. Do any of these descriptions ring any bells?” By the looks on the peoples’ faces, Scarlet guessed none seemed to have a clue relating to any of this. There’s little time. Fortunately, you’re my last boat. I should be returning to my place soon enough.”

A Deadly Hunt

Postby Ethen Calden on May 2nd, 2013, 5:38 am

Ethen had finally got his balance back and stomach under control and could walk around without looking like one of the slap stick actors that he saw in the overcovert comedy plays Syliras. The reason that Ethen knew his follow passengers was before the departure the first mate took a shine to Ethen and started flirting with him. To impress Ethen the first mate showed the passenger's manifest. Which why Ethen knew the names of the people on the ship. After seeing Akilia morphing into her a lookalike of her friendly companion, Ethen felt overwhelm by the sudden change of events. The second surprise was Azcadelia remerge from the lower deck to the first deck coming to Ethen to talk which captain Vega interrupt him and giving Azcadelia a order of preparedness. The third and most shocking surprise was a eagle coming to the busy deck.

When the eagle land on the ship's deck and change into an red hair nude woman. Ethen though had no sexual attractiveness towards the red hair woman but out of being polite Ethen adverted his eyes from the nude woman. "The naked woman must be a Kelvic like Akilia but the red hair woman can turn into a eagle instead" thought Ethen. After hearing the info that the woman, Ethen replied "sorry I have no knowledge about identities of any mages or their magic, Vega Driftwood, the captain of this ship might know of the magical folk and there are a passenger that dabbles in magical craft" said Ethen to the red hair woman.

"How dare you land on my ship without asking me to parlay?" asked Vega announce his presences to the nude red hair woman with a angry tone. The older man seem to be unfazed by the woman lack of modestly. "Get ready your untimely demise woman" said Vega prepare to unshift his saber sword. "Wait captain! This madam been relaying information after seem the woman to been spying on the ship that we been pursuing" said Ethen, calming down Vega but with his guard still up. Ethen repeated the woman's words to the captain. The captain wondered for a while and then said "well..."
