[Spirit/Abstract's Scrapbook]Musings of a muser...

- Day 06
A Book that makes you sad

And this series again. Basically the reason it wasn't my top for the series...

[center]Mastiff

By Tamora Pierce

The ending to this killed me. Of the group, you knew there was a traitor, but you didn't know who. All of the characters were nice and trustworthy. Maybe it was the new guy, but no. It wasn't. I'm not going to spoil the end for any readers, as it's a pretty big plot twist, but WHY? It's just... no. Bad... ugh...

- Day 08
Most overrated book

Skipping day 7... honestly, I have no idea what to put for that day, so....

Son of Neptune

By Rick Riordan

Image

I had a few books for this, but I picked the second book of the second Percy Jackson series. That one wasn't as good as the first... WAY too predictable. Honestly, the only reason I read it was to see what the Roman camp was like. People made too much fuss over a boring and predictable series, especially this book and the 'mark of athena'. It got on my nerves a bit, and I never bothered to read the latter.

- Day 09
A Book you thought you'd hate but ended up loving

So many of these, but I'll put the biggest... I ended up doing a book report on this :P

Watership Down

By Richard Adams

Image

When I first got this for Christmas, I took one look at the cover and decided it was boring. I even read the first chapter or so before stopping. It was only when looking for a book to write a report on that I remembered it. I read it through... and it turned out amazing! Watership Down is, quite simple, about a small group of 'evicted' rabbits that find their way around the world, until they found a place to start a new home... with a number of interesting adventures along the way!

- Day 10
Your Favorite Classic

Another one I did a book report on... lol

Little Women

By Louisa May Alcott

Image

I liked how... 'simple' this was, story line and all. It wasn't any epic quest, or something like that, but rather... just a happy little family living an average life. But despite the boring-seeming plot, I loved it. The characters were amazing, and the way they delt with the troubles of life... that was great too :P

- Day 11
A Book You Hate

Whoops. Forgot to do yesterday's...

The Shadow Dragons

By James A. Owen

Image

I liked the previous 3 books in this series. And this one only had one major problem: It had time travel. Now, I don't have anything against time travel, except that if you're not careful- it get's confusing. And this author wasn't careful... I spent half the time being utterly confused, and trying to figure out where and when they were. And where and when the other characters were. And what was going on in general. Really... I seriously disliked this book...

- Day 12
A book you used to love but don’t anymore

Aaand here's today.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Theif

By Rick Riordan

Image

I liked this when I first read it, and a few years after that too. Honestly... now I don't find it as good. It's more an 'average' book rather than anything, and there's nothing... special about it anymore. Though I must agree, it's one of my favorites in all his books... it's not as good as it was before. We all grow up, I guess.

Just some pictures I drew! Mostly over class and such... so they're all pretty simple, and on lined paper... but I really like them non-the-less

One of my favorites... he felt like a Brian, so I named him so :) Drawn in pencil, then outlined in fine liner

Image

The first goose... it was SUPPOSED to be a duck, but... I'm not sure what happened :)

Image

The second goose... also fine lined. These are much simpler than Brian, and much smaller ^-^

Image

This was a sort of an odd combination of me and my friend's drawings. The cat on the left is her's, the goose (heron?) on the right is mine... actually, I have a photoshopped version of monocat (as the cat has been called) on another computer, so I'll put that up when I move onto it... until then, here's a... tea party?

- Day 13
Favourite Author

I kept postponing stuff... so here they all are, no pictures, in one post :P

Tamora Pierce

I've already labeled her in this list, but I might as well do it again... I really like her writing, and the way she's set up all her books. Yup.

- Day 14
Favourite Book By Favourite author

I kept postponing Stuff >.>

Alanna

The first book of her's I ever read... I still really like it! The Beginning of all her series in Tortall... and Alanna appears in almost all of the books past this :)

- Day 15
Favorite Male Character

Um... this is a hard one!

Han Alister, from "Demon King"

Han is neither good or bad, just... slightly confused at times. And annoyed. That's what I find makes him a good character. He's technically the protagonist, and IS working for the general greater good, but the ways he goes around doing it... a little skeptical. That's what makes him one of my favorite male characters...
