Also known as the “Ruined Shrine,” this destroyed landmark resides atop the crest of a cliff near the Lookout. It’s masonry lies half in tact, ruined by the Djed Storm of 512. Before its destruction it was a domed structure, held erect by several rectangular pillars and archways. The lip that was used for offerings still remains intact, stretching off into open space and overlooking the sheer drop below. Its previous function was as a sanctuary for free birds, as opposed to Wind Reach’s population of eagles. In order to show their reverence, the Inarta would leave bits of food out on the lip where the avian would gather and feed. Considering the scarcity of food amongst the natives, it was considered a great honor to donate to the birds. The now crumbling structure now truly lives up to its namesake, and its once hidden interior is out in the open air. Amongst the rubble one might still find various bits of debris from those who had been within its walls. Small destroyed pieces of jewelry, arrowheads and scraps of fabric are strewn here and there about the dirty floor. Currently, its purpose has altered somewhat. Instead of rebuilding the once beautiful building, the locals have opted to focus on more pressing matters. It functions as a source of tranquility for the Inarta as well as an ugly reminder. The ruins in particular appeal to teenagers, acting as a sort of romantic escape for the more adventurous side of their youth. Adults tend to use it for a meditative spot most especially the Endal caste, as the tiny balcony provides a breathtaking view. Though no known plans exist for its reconstruction, the idea is frequently discussed in casual conversation. The potentiality for various other structures lies within its shambles and that too appeals to some of the more ambitious mountain dwellers. Yet despite all talk the shrine remains untouched, maintaining its current function as a small resting spot. Moderator Note: This location is an RP location.
