Jesslyn pulled her cloak tighter around her as she trekked on. It was almost Midnight so the activity of the park had gone considerably scarce. And just how Jesslyn wanted it at this time. Normally Jesslyn would rather be running in the Boardwalk during the day so if she got lost others could help her.

But today wasn't the case. She was getting so close to snapping at her own people. At the people who she grew up with, with the people who she wished so more for, for the people who had once been so friendly that if you were in another Hold it wasn't questioned. But Jesslyn wasn't that type of person. She upheld her people as the highest. They were her first and last love.

But somehow the tension and 'magic' were starting to affect her. At the slightest thing she was becoming undone and twitchy. Jesslyn quickly stepped to the left in-order to avoid a statue. She almost didn't see it if she hadn't had stepped on a clear spot in the path.

Just as she turned left at a four way she found herself in a spot she had never been in before. Coming to a slow stop Jesslyn observed the blurs around her. There appeared to be a small frozen fountain by a tree and a bench. Breathing heavily Jesslyn's heated red eyes moved with her head. Trying to find familiar blurs or even a familiar sound.

When nothing came to her Jesslyn decided to take a break before she started back up running. Just before she reached the bench a familiar blur, more like a solid, stepped into view. Jesslyn turned and sat before breathing through her nose, "So I must be in the Frostfawn area if your here." Jesslyn was returned with a snort.

Jesslyn gave a smile and crossed her arms, "So what bring you so far from the wild?" Jesslyn took a deep breath and slowly let it out. The blur moved forward, its hooves moved on the hard ground. When it came close enough Jesslyn reached her hand out. The deer moved closer until her palm was on its snout before it snorted.

Jesslyn gave a tight-lipped smile but couldn't hold in the grin when the deer stomped, "I haven't seen you in a while. Nor have I given you a name..." The deer shook its head but was careful with its horns. "Hmm, what would be fitting for the Frostfawn deer that saved my life and Sera's?" Jesslyn was given no response so she thought over it.

Petting his snout Jesslyn blindly let her other hand lay on his neck, "How about Ryder?" A snort, "But it's a cool name!" A snort again. Jesslyn snorted herself, "Fine fine. Give me some time!" Jesslyn continued to pet and rub the deer as she thought.

After sometime the deer became impatient and nudged her face with its snout, "I got it!" Jesslyn exclaimed, " Sevlein!" The deer seemed to pause before nodding its head, "See I told you you would like it!" The deer started to relax when it seemed to pick up on something Jesslyn couldn't.

It's body went tense and Jesslyn found herself slowly having Sevlein moving to her side, "Stay out of view." She whispered. "Who's there?!" She called getting a little anxious herself. It was night-time and she was in the middle of the Frostfawn area for all she knew... actually she didn't know. Which made things worse.

The Blind Don't Want To See [Windward Boardwalk]

Postby Pyren Frostfawn on May 10th, 2013, 3:58 am

Pyren watched the young, and very beuatiful, woman with what appeared to be a deer. As a Frostfawn, he assumed it was a Frostfawn deer. It certainly looked like one with it's fur as if it were made of ice. He had seen several in his lifetime staying around the Frostfawn hold and was almost positive the animal was a Frostfawn deer. This one seemed to be on it;s own...maybe even a wild wandering deer. At any rate, the deer wern't to be trifled with. They are incredibly dangerous animals, with their horns almost invisible and sharp as knives that look like they can spear a man upn them. He had sometimes heard horror stories of what the deer could do to an unwary Vantha. He grasped the bow on his back and cursed himself as he felt for an arrow...he was all out of them. He gazed at the woman and the deer from afar and had to make a quick decision. The woman was in trouble, that much had to be certain. At least that was what he thought as he creeped closer...until the deer seemed to walk way almost as if hiding and the woman called out asking for the name of the intruder.

"My name is Pyren...I thought you were in danger. The Frostfawn deer are dangerous if wild." He said trying to stay calm as he could almost feel that the deer was still very close...too close. He was on alert as he looked around. If nothing else he could lead the deer to the Frostfanw hold and gain a little money for adding a new animal to the Frostfawn's possession. He turned his gaze to the woman, from afar she seemed lovely and from up close she was even more so. The words breathe taking came to mind. She was tall, a little pale for a Vantha and her eyes seemed to lack the vibrant colours of the borealis. She was different somehow. She seemed to be Vantha but had a sort of...different kind of beauty about her that wasn't usually found within the city. With her full plump lips and dark auburn like hair she seemed to be an unassuming beauty that was a refreshing change from the norm. It could be said that she had a sort of familiar yet exotic look to her. It was appealing to say the least.

Jesslyn couldn't see the blur that belonged to the voice. So her eyes darted around as if she was trying to find the person. And really she was. But they were too far away. Jesslyn frowned and raised a hand to pet Sevlein's nose. He wasn't harming her. There was no signs of aggression going on. Was this person also blind?

Jesslyn frowned at the person and let the silence drag on. The man moved in closer and Sevlein stomped once in warning, lowering its head. Jesslyn flicked its nose and it slowly raised up again. But she could still feel the taunt muscle of the deer. Waiting for the man to do something stupid.

Feeling that the animal was calmed a little more she turned her dull eyes to the blur. She could now see them but barley. "Well Pyren. As you can see I'm perfectly fine." There was still a bite to her words and as if sensing it the deer nudged her shoulder with its body. Jesslyn could feel a pair of eyes on her and knew it wasn't the deers. As Sevlein would be too busy glaring down the other man.

"Calm Sevlein. If the man mean't harm he would have already caused it." Jesslyn was given a snort in reply so she simply kept her gaze straight, "What brings you out so late?" Jesslyn didn't really care what he was doing out here. Actually she didn't care what any male member of the Vantha were doing. As long as they left her alone she was fine.

But it seemed Jesslyn would not be getting her wishes this night. Nor any other. Jesslyn eyes that had once been fading to dull purple worked back into a deep red.

The Blind Don't Want To See [Windward Boardwalk]

Postby Pyren Frostfawn on May 11th, 2013, 3:55 pm

Pyren could immediately see his folley. The deer seemd to actually be protecting the woman, it was obvously a companion like a lot of animals around the Frostfawn hold. He smiled, it brought a happy warm sort of feeling to him to know that at least one more animal had found a good home. "I apologize, I'm glad to see you have a wonderful companon with you. I really just am a bit restless tonight so I thought I would take a walk around the hold here. How about you? Do you belong to the Frostfawn hold?" He inquired, the woman was obviously not welcoming to him but why not try? A little kindness could go a long way when trying to change a person's perception of you. Besides, that deer looked a little ticked off and he really didn't want any part of a fight with those antlers if t wasn't a danger to anyone.

Pyren was glad to hear that the woman had perceived him as a non-threatening figure despite the shortbow on his back...the shortbow without any arrows mind you renderng it pretty much useless. Pyren's mind traveled off on the thought of a need for a knife or a shortsword in situations where he had no arrows. He quickly realized that he was zoning out and got back into the conversation, "uhm...I hadn't caught you're name Miss." He said, realizing he hadn't.

Jesslyn simply nodded her head when he said his apologizes. She didn't try to correct him that Sevlein wasn't her companion and she wasn't his master or owner in any sorts. Because she wasn't. She was simply someone the deer happened to communicate with from time to time. She could rarely find him but v always seemed to find her. It was curious.

As he continued to ramble on Jesslyn found herself slightly bored. Not with the fact that he was a man but that he was restless. Everyone was these days. What Jesslyn needed was excitement and she needed it now. But that didn't mean she would get it.

So trying her best to be civial Jesslyn pulled a quick smile at the mention of being part of the Frostfawn Hold, "You must have bad vision if you think I'm from the Frostfawn Hold." Jesslyn continued to pet Sevlein, "Do you think those of the Frostfawn Hold would have someone painting? I haven't heard of such a thing. Have you?" That last question was directed at Sevlein.

He lightly shook his head and barley missed Jesslyn with his horns. Jesslyn couldn't see the danger so she didn't flinch, "Right. Now, in less you are blind you should have seen paint everywhere. What colors.... be my guest." Jesslyn smiled but she personally knew it was off. She didn't know Pyren and knew he wouldn't know her ticks just yet so she wasn't worried about him seeing through her.

Just before she was ready to tell him she was going to leave he asked for her name. Jesslyn's eye flashed a bright ice blue before slowly fading into a dull grey. Jesslyn didn't feel like telling him her name just yet so she beat around from it, "As I was going to say. I think it's best time I start heading back. After all it is a late time of night and I have things to do in the morning."

Jesslyn pushed Sevlein head away and stood. Putting her hand back on the deer so she could see a little farther when his hooves would hit the solid ground Jesslyn smiled, "It was nice meeting you."

The Blind Don't Want To See [Windward Boardwalk]

Postby Pyren Frostfawn on May 12th, 2013, 3:53 am

Pyren seemed puzzled by the woman. She seemed a bit testy twoard him, though why would she be short with him when she hadn't known him. Maybe she was having a bad day. It could explain why someone other than himself were out at an unghastly hour. He also was puzzled on one other fact, paint? when he had approached her he had only seen her with a good-sized Frostfawn deer. She wasn't painting or had any paint with her. He decided not to bring this up, what would the use be in arguing with an already irritable woman afterall.

Pyren heard the woman's voiced desire to go home. At the very least he could be a gentleman to her, "I don't suppose I could talk you into letting me escort you home now is there? Maybe if I beg you to show me your artwork?" he said. Obviously if she mentioned paint she had to be an artist, right?

Jesslyn stopped and so did Sevlein. Who really just seemed happy to get moving away from Pyren. Jesslyn regarded Pyren with a blank stair from grey eyes and tilted her head to the side.

She hasn't had someone over in a while and hadn't had anyone walk her home either. She didn't know the man. She didn't know if it would be safe to travel with him or anything. Plus there was always the threat of Sevlein traveling with them too.

But Jesslyn had been trying to sell pieces and still was too scarred to get rid of some things. So maybe it was time for change. No, it wasn't a maybe. It was a definite. This was now a time for change.

Jesslyn slowly smiled and nodded her head. Sevlein didn't really like what he was getting off of Jesslyn and he stomped. Improving her sight and allowing her to see a little more of Pyren. And he wasn't all too bad of a looker either... from what the vibration showed.

Jesslyn was still going to play with him though. Her name could stay hidden and so could the fact that she was blind. It was always fun to mess with people. "Well Pyren. I'll let you take me home... for the price of spreading word of my paintings. I'm going to be maybe opening a shop or finding one to work at and sell my own artwork." Jesslyn had started to walk but realized she hadn't told him where they were going, "Ah yes. To the Skyglow Hold, that's my home."

d and offered her his arm while listening to her dreams of her own shop. She seemd very nice and extremely attractive. He thought the idea was awesome, Pyren often wished he had the funds or the skills to open up some kind of shop. "Well, I will definitely make sure to spread the word." He said doing his best gentleman impression, it never hurts to be nice right?

The two walked down the boardwalk heading to their destination which seemed to be the Skyglow vintana. He didn't think the two looked out of place walking together but they definitely looked out of place in the middle of the night being out at all. It didn't seem Avanthal had much of a night life, at least that was Pyren's impression.

He found himself stealing subtle glances at the woman, he then realised he hadn't caught her name. Yet how to bring about the subject indirectly. He smiled as he decided, "What kind of subject matter do you most like to paint Miss...you know I never did catch your name" he said nonchalantly and dismissively trying to lay it off like he wasn't carefully strategizing his words. Social situations were always awkward for the young Vantha.

Jesslyn took the arm of the blur and let one hand slip from Sevlein as she went to put it on Pyren's arm but was stopped when an angry huff was let out of Sevlein. Jesslyn sighed and placed her hand back, wrapping it around the base of a horn. Sevlein, showing signs of a jealous boyfriend, seemed content for the moment being.

Jesslyn simply nodded with a small smile when he mentioned spreading the word. And in truth, Jesslyn let out a breath of relief mentally because she really needed the money for expenses. She could go on living without selling her artwork.

As the two walked Jesslyn made concious to pay attention to things around them. Avanthal was a snow city with a forest in the city. And the animals practically did what they want. But there was still the occasion bum that was greedy. Jesslyn made sure to keep Sevlein close in case something decided to turn sour. Avanthal wasn't too dangerous as night but it was dangerous enough for a blind Vantha.

Along the way Jesslyn could feel eyes on her, occasionally, but he never did say something. She didn't allow this to create an awkward situation. Simply ignoring the eyes she concentrated on getting home. Or trying. Once again the eyes landed on her and he said the words. Again. Jesslyn almost found it pathetic. But she understood where he was coming from.

Or not really seeing as she already knew his name and had no reason for looks. But Jesslyn tossed her reactions around in her head before deciding she could play it off a little longer, " Well, I like painting the sky. It's a beautiful things that is always changing. Oh and winter life." Jesslyn smiled and Sevlein snorted. Ignoring the deer Jesslyn went to stop talking but Sevlein snorted and nuged her.

'Oh, now he starts to like Pyren.' Jesslyn sent a quick glare, blank glare but still the same, at Sevlein from the corner of her eye before adressing her name, "Jess." Jesslyn smiled, "My name is Jess." 'Lyn. But I can still be trisky. Even if its not that sneaky..'

The Blind Don't Want To See [Windward Boardwalk]

Postby Pyren Frostfawn on June 7th, 2013, 3:32 am

He smiled softly yet warmly, or at least that was his intention. It was so hard to convey the emotion you wanted in a single gesture or expression, he began to think to himself. She had mentioned painting winter life. Pyren had been out in the tundras outside Avanthal a few times on hunts now. It didn't seem there was a lot of life out there to see, but maybe he was just a little less creative than the average Vantha. This was obviously strange for his people, they all seemed to have a flair for dramatic storytelling or craft of some shape or form. Pyren always found himself to be somewhat untalented in that area. Maybe he just happened to not have tapped that inner muse for the arts. Perhaps some day he would pick up a brush or chisel and create a masterpiece...most likely not though.

She said her name was Jess...it seemed like a nickname but the woman already seemed a little reserved to me so he decided not to press the issue of her name. He continued to wonder about the deer though he no longer had a desire to sell him for a little money to his own Frostfawn vintana. It seemed the deer was tame enough to be around, however he might not have had an owner. That was odd in itself unless he did have an owner at one point and that is how he was so calm around people now.

"We are almost to the Skyglow hold now, I would love to see some of your artwork but I'll understand if you don't want to show me." In all honesty, Pyren was no art critic. He would probably only look at the art and decide if it was a beautiful or colorful piece or not. Or if it looked like the subject accurately. He wouldn't be able to decipher the meaning of the piece or anything like that, though try as he might.
