Pyren stands at a tall five foot nine. He has very dark black hair that he keeps very short. His black hair only seems lighter in the right kind of sunlight, it seems, as it is twinged with blue but this subtle color is rarely seen in doors or at night when there is no moonlight. His skin tone is almond colored and his eyes are usually subtle and soft when conversing with others and focused and determined when doing actions such as archery. Like all Vantha, his eyes change with his mood.

The eyes:

violet: happy

green: excited

blue: sorrow

gold: worried, frightened

ruby: peaceful

teal: curious

amber: anger

gold: peaceful

light purple: in love, flirting

Character Concept

Personality: Pyren is sincere in every way. He is always honest and is always willing to help whoever he comes across without a thought to their alternative motives. Naive would best describe him. His naive nature could potentially get him into trouble. He is almost never likely to see evil or harmful intentions unless it was blantantly obvious. He would be most likely to show mercy to someone or give someone a second chance, however if someone were to threaten his loved ones he would not hesitate to silence them once and for all...or at least throw them in jail.

Pyren would never turn down the opportunity to make a new friend. On the same hand, he would also never turn down a challenge, potentially leading to rivals in his competitive skills. Pyren is extremely personable, kind, and outgoing in his life and conversation, most always ready with an amusing tale or heroic story or two to entertain the person tos trike up a conversation with him, or merely just some friendly conversation about the wheather or hunting.

In his professional life Pyren has many goals and aspirations to seek after. He wishes to become a great archer, hunter, and falconer. He also wishes to join the great Icewatch someday. The romantic and glamorous visions of the Icewatch in his own mindmay cloud the reality of it all though. Pyren never lets anyone stand in the way of his dreams and never backs away from learning how to better reach and attain his goals.

In romance Pyren is ever the rookie. He has the soul of a hopeless romantic but put in practice he falls short of a casanova. He doesn't actively search for love, but flirting is another story. Pyren is an insatiable flirt and hasn't met a woman he hasn't, if even without really meaning to, hasn't flirted even a little bit with. Flirting would be the easy part in romance, Pyren would say, but after initial contact and conversation...he would be as a man without a paddle on white water. Hopeless. He has never loved a woman, merely entertained their company and parted ways after their fun had been had after a date...two weeks...six months. Love, not for lack of trying, has never found it's way to Pyren's longing heart.

Of Ethics and morals: Pyren is always fiathful to what he finds right. He is very VERY black and white when it comes to his moral code. Murder is always wrong no matter the circumstances. However, killing is ok when in self defense or in the defense of others. Adultery is always wrong, no exceptions. Lying and dishonesty is rarely ever good, and is only necessary in the most extreme circumstances. If Pyren were to consider doing something he would believe to be wrong he would have to seriously think about the outcomes and the good would definitly have to outweigh the evils of the action itself. When pressed, Pyren will always do what he thinks is right at that moment, even if it may go against his own moral code.

Likes: Archery, birds of prey, falconry, animals, large mammals, animal husbandry, Avanthal, Morwen, the icewatch, galantry, righteousness, positivity, streangth, storytelling, people, the Vantha, beauty in many things, reading in silence and peace and honor.

Dislikes: dishonesty, treachery, thievery, harmful natures, harmful people, cruelty, animal abuse, pointless death, cowardice, the Symenestra and negativity.

Character History

Pyren's father was a fantastic archer and amateur falconer of the Frostfawn hold. He would often take Pyren out to hunt or to practice with a shortbow. He would even teach him a thing or two about great birds of prey. His mother was a medic belonging to the Whitevine hold. his father was Arvan Frostfawn and his mother was Selvene Whitevine. They were both lsot to Pyren at some point in his life.

Just after Pyren was born his mother was taken away when her and his father were hunting by a wandering Symenestra to be bred for their offspring. She gave birth to a baby girl, half Symenestra, and was killed by the horrid creature. Enraged by this brutal ritual his father raised Pyren on his own, until he fell to a nasty disease of unknown name and origin before Pyren's eighteenth birthday. Without any family left, he inherited his family's arvinta in the Frostfawn hold. Pyren developed an anger twoard the Symenestra people after this, he might even say he despised the spider like people. He had read some books on the subject of the Symenestra. A lot of them detailed how his mother was probably killed. How the beastial creatures liquefied her viscera and muscle tissues. It chilled his bones to think of this. If he ever caught the spider who killed his mother...well...it was a thought he didn't enjoy bringing up.

His father had always raised Pyren. He had taught him a great many things about life and happiness. He had often told Pyren that his mother was still with them, even if she was not among the living any longer. Pyren had never truly understood about the spiritual side of death and the like but he trusted that his mother was not gone. His father also warned him against vengence and hatred. It only led down a long path of darkness, he used to say. Pyren learned everything from his father. his ethics, his moral compass, his compassion and kindness, and his many skills all came from his father like falconry, hunting, wilderness survival and his skills with a bow. His father would practice and kind of play with Pyren in order tot each him these skills, and entertain the young Vantha. It instilled within Pyren all the lvoes his father had held.

Often times when Pyren was a teenager he would watch the master falconers raise and train there falcons and eagles and large birds of prey in the Frostfawn hold. It was a magnificent sight to see. The large birds flying and soaring through the air only to alnd ont heir master's outstretched arm. He would also enjoy watching the Icewatch train from time to time. It might be where he got his glamourized and romantic view of the soldires of Avanthal. They seemed to be dazzling people, protecting and serving the people of Avanthal. Pyren longed to be counted among them one day.

The end of his twenty first year saw Pyren become the person he is today. A person without a family, trying to pay for his family's arvinta by any means he can. Small jobs mostly. He would sometimes bring in a caribou to bring in some money. He could be labeled a hunter, if but an amateur one. Pyren longs for more in his life but for now his life consists of trying to fend for himself in an ice covered town where he seems to be on his own a lot.

Housing

Location: An arvinta in the Frostfawn Hold

House: 1 basic 20x20 Arvinta in a Hold with a hearth, bunk, chest, chair, and small table.

Each Arvinta consists of a communal meeting or sitting room. Then there are private rooms for couples, and a common sleeping/living room for all the children. Visitors are often given a private room, while a couple will move in with the children to make extra room. Some of the larger, more expansive Holds with wealthier families have spare rooms in their Arvinta or special guest quarters when people move from place to place visiting. Holds often have common areas and craft cottages in buildings attached and are always made of solid stone. External buildings are often built from ice and warmed from within by special braziers that conduct heat into the room but do not melt the thick ice walls. A Hold may contain multiple Arvintas and might hold upwards of a couple hundred people.
