It was soon after the transformation when Celeste realized her clothes had piled on the floor. Being a Sugar Glider, she couldn't do much to pick it up, but her horse certainly seemed unsurprised of her form again.
Watching intently as he announced his experiment and suddenly pinched his skin, she winced and let out a feeble squirm. She clung to his shoulder a little tighter as drops of blood fell into the vial.
He continued the experiment, and her more curious animal side took hold. She almost fell off his shoulder watching.
"This may take a minute!" he said, the crackling and sizzling loud. So loud, in fact, Celeste wanted to switch back to a Human and cover her currently-sensitive ears.
The scene was magnificent. Sparkling and sizzling filled their spot in the gardens. She was amazed how such a man did this all with the help of a single book. But what exactly was in the book, she thought? How complex was it? And could anybody decipher it, or was it...nearly impossible?
