Season of Summer, Day 64, 513 AV Jantys stretched a little, injecting his tired muscles with some extra energy. His shiny squire armor gleamed in the sunlight (it better petching gleam, anyways, I just finished polishin' it) as his arms rose over his head. He bends forward a little, feeling a few things pop and stretch in his back, and he nods, satisfied. Rolling his neck, he took a cursory glance around at the streets. Generally he didn't take patrol duty very seriously, but since this was his first jaunt by himself, he had decided to make an at least token effort to find and stop trouble. Not that he could ever find much, mind you. His eyes slid around at the people, at their faces and clothes, trying to detect something bad or criminal about them, but they all looked innocent of wrongdoing. Grunting in mild annoyance, he begins walking, circling and threading through the area he had been assigned to for the day, slipping in and out of the natural shadows produced by the buildings to cool himself down a little. The hot summer sun was already making him hot and stuffy in his armor; several of his superiors had noted the coming of the second season with dread. For Jantys, this went double; although he had begun losing some of his weight, there was still enough to matter. He steps out of an alleyway and surveys a main thoroughfare, his eyes glazing over slightly as he watches for something out of the ordinary. |
