Silverbreeze Racing Pavilion

Every ten days of each season, the Silverbreeze pavilion bursts with life as the rather large family goes to work preparing for an afternoon of races. A quarter-mile track is set up, lined with long strings of flags which are kept in the ground by wooden spikes. The main pavilion is filled with gamblers, spectators, and even vendors of food. The main pavilion is then surrounded by individual tents as racers begin to groom their horses and make sure that they are well rested and fed for the races to come.
At noon, racers are allowed to begin to register for the races and pay their entry fee of 15 Gold-rimmed Mizas. Vendors of any kind are required to pay 10 Gold-rimmed Mizas for a full day of sales but can usually expect a profit of 15-20 Gold-rimmed Mizas. Racers are divided into a maximum of five brackets with - those who do not register in time must wait until the next race - five racers and given a racing time. At the drop of a flag, the riders will urge their Striders into a full gallop with hopes of crossing the finish line first. Winners are determined using a web strand that is stretched across the finish line. The winners from each race are pitted against one another for the final championship. The winner walks away with 150 Gold-rimmed Mizas, leaving a 225 base profit for the family.
On the 45th of Spring a Grand Championship is held. To be eligible, a racer must have 10 wins under their belt in that racing season and be able to pay a 300 Gold-rimmed Miza entry fee. Minor races are held throughout the day including a short race for children with the main event taking place just before sunset. The winner of the Grand Championship walks away with a 1500 Gold-rimmed Miza prize and the prestige of having the fastest Strider in the Sea of Grass.

If away from his own pavilion, he is always seen with a pipe of tobacco in his wizened lips.
