The Diamond of Kalea is located on Kalea's extreme west coast and called as such because its completely made of a crystalline substance called Skyglass. Home of the Alvina of the Stars, cultural mecca of knowledge seekers, and rife with Ethaefal, this remote city shimmers with its own unique light.

The Zintia Rest

Just beyond the gates of the Surya Plaza lies the Zintia Rest, a central location for busy citizens of Lhavit. Many of those on their daily commute aren't able to return home for the scheduled rest periods, and so the Zintia Rest was designed for exactly that; a relaxation area and bathhouse for the public. The service is free to the public; once granted access, they are free to choose a room. Both occupied and unoccupied rooms are available, though once a room is chosen it can be declared 'unavailable' and locked by the user. Friends and lovers often choose the Rest as a casual meeting place, most especially for its discretion.

ImageNot only does the building contain personal spaces, it also functions as the local bath house. The Rest comes equipped with both small, private rooms as well as large, public grottos. Private rooms are available upon request, but the patron may be subjected to a nominal waiting period. The grottos, however, are always free. Each side of the bath is separated according to sex, with at least one Shinya on duty at all times. Fooling around is acceptable behind closed doors, just not out in the open. The private rooms include a single large wash basin, a small bathing pool, a set of towels, and a disposable pumice. While it is encouraged to bring one's own toiletries, these luxuries are always provided. The grottos contain a handful of large pools, with shelves of towels near the entrance.

Largely, residential home-owners choose to use the Zintia Rest to bathe. The Solar Winds and Tower's Respite both come with bathing facilities, however many cottages lack anything more than a small, simple wash basin. This has facilitated the need for bathhouses throughout the Peaks, though the Zintia by far is the largest. Reimancers have delved deep within the mountain to construct pipes from the Kinell Hotsprings alongside many others. Using vertical shafts connected by horizontal tunnels, they were able to easily access otherwise unavailable water sources.

Birthplace: Eyktol
Occupation: Cleaner at the Zintia Rest
Skills: Cleaning - 60, Cooking - 50, Glassblowing - 60, Leadership - 35, Socialization - 30
Languages: Common (Fluent), Arumenic (Fluent)

A cleaner at the Zintia Rest, Hessel is a six-armed Eypharian who often works behind the scenes, but one may run into her on occasion. Should she be seen and engaged, which is often since Eypharian aren't very common in Lhavit, she is quite friendly and more than willing to take the time to talk.

Hessel is a kindly woman who works in a lowly position by choice in an effort to atone for a previous sin. In her youth, Hessel was a tempestuous young woman living in Eyktol. She enjoyed it all; luxury, leisure, and the lust of handsome men. It was the latter that brought her trouble when she became pregnant from an illicit relationship with a slave lover. Her lover cared deeply for her, but Hessel wanted to die from the shame. She scorned the man over and over and sold him for pittance at the nearest slave market. Once their child was born she cast it into the river to drown to death.

She thought she didn't care, but as time passed she found herself thinking of the dead child over and over again as she was eaten from within by guilt. The final straw was learning that her old slave lover had gained freedom... and promptly hung himself from grief and despair over his lost love and dead child. The news cut her deeper than she could have ever imagined. Hessel could only do one thing, and that was run.

She ran until she was as far away from the desert and the past as she could be. In her arduous journey north she learnt much about herself, and slowly learnt to forgive herself. Now she is mellow, cheerful, and spends her spare time learning new skills. Her past is a scar that is slowly healing, but she rarely talks about it. Hessel is quick to make friends, but slower to form true bonds.
