The sound of the waves lapping on the beach before her was soothing to the ears of the tall wizard as she strode through the sand, her gaze staring far into the horizon. It was a day like any other and yet it was entirely different. It seemed more calm than usual and she herself felt oddly at ease with the world around her, her normally troubled thoughts quelled by the calm of the day and the rhythmic waves. Anna considered this to be the perfect spot for todays exercise so she carefully unclasped her cloak and slipped off her boots, her bare feet tickled slightly by the warm sand.
The wizard placed the weathered cloak down on the sand, creating a form of mat for her to sit on. She carefully sat down upon it, her breath escaping her in a slight sigh. These trips out of the city always had ways of leaving her drained from bells of travelling from the city. It was all worth it off course, to be away from the prying eyes of others and possessing privacy to use her reimancy. It was also a fair bit safer for using the full extent of her power, allowing her to utilize fire and lava along with earth. Perfection really.
The wizard decided to differ from her usual routine, at least for the moment. She did not glyph up her body, nor did she enter into meditation. That was because today was going to be very different in regards of how she was going to experiment. It would be as much an internal exercise as it would be external. The past few days had revealed an ugly truth to her, and that was how very little she actually knew in regards to her own powers. Certainly she knew the basics and some advanced concepts, but it had been a long while since last she had actually sat down and reflected upon her own power.
The tall woman sat cross legged, with both hands out stretched. Slow verses of the ancient tongue spilled from her lips as she focused the energy within her to both of her hands. Djed was forced from her very body and slowly began to generate around both of her hands, sheathing them in clear translucent liquid.
Res is the life blood of a reimancer, more important than air or water. It is the essence of who the wizard is, a piece of their very being. Through shaping this substance a reimancer gains power over the natural elements and mastery of the physical world.
Her mind was going through the aspects of reimancy as they existed, everything she knew and had learned over her years of practicing the powerful discipline. The woman's eyes were fixed upon the res, admiring the warm liquid as it shifted over her hands and caressed the flesh from whence it had come. It looked like a deceptively simple thing, but the power she could wield through it was beyond the scope of most mortal imagination.
Of course, the urge was always there, edging her on to expel more of the substance from her body. Euphoric visions of unspeakable chaos and destruction flashed through her mind, thoughts that couldn't help but bring a slight grin to her face. Those visions would be fulfilled one day, she would see to that. One day, she would pull the wool from the eyes of the fools of this world and show them the truth, that the truth of Rhysol could not be denied.
The woman pushed aside the visions and focused upon the res adorning both of her hand, her chanting still low. This was merely the precursor of the rest of the day to come.
