A few chimes passed by before something they could work with happened. A bunch of teenage humans approached Savio and started messing around with his body. This was the sign Xeona was waiting for. He approached the teenagers and materialized himself. "Hey! May I ask you to stop that?" Xeona asked.

"Oh yeah, give us one reason to stop? I do believe you're outnumbered, there's 5 of us, and one of you. So it's you who should stop bugging us, or we'll give you a real beating." said one of the oldest in the gang. He was so up in harassing Savio's body, so he did only give Xeona a quick glimpse, mistaking him for a alive person. The ones in the gang who did give Xeona a closer look though, became frightened, trying to tell the boy who talked a hint of leaving. Upon hearing this, he turned around to see Xeona's true form.

"I think not. Now either you get out or I'll have to follow you... For the rest of your lives. I think you'll find your meeting with the gods starting very soon..." Xeona gave the teenagers a sinister stare and continued: "So, those of you who choose option 1, go away. NOW." Xeona saw how four of the five teenagers ran away, two of them screaming. The fifth, however, the one that had spoken up earlier, stayed, screaming to the others things like "cowards" or "he's not going to hurt us"

"Oh yeah, did I forget to mention option three? I finish you off, right here and right now. I don't know what you prefer, but honestly, you deserve number three. It's your choice." When Xeona said those words, the boy scurried away, running as fast so that he catched up to the others and ran past them. When Xeona was sure that they were all gone, he made a sign to Savio to get up. "Honestly, I thought they would put up more of a fight."

When Savio heard the boys walk up, he was grateful that his face was hidden due to the fact that he was struggling not to laugh. Well, until they started lightly kicking at his ribs and poking him. It was a mixture of pain and tickles that Savio found to be unpleasant. It took every ounce of self-control to not either burst into laughter or attempt to kick the youngsters away. C’mon, Xeo. Did you just want to see me get beat up or something? Savio thought impatiently to himself.

When Xeona finally made himself known, it wasn’t the grand entrance Savio had expected. One of the boys even threatened the ghost. That would have been an interesting sight. That was when Xeona turned on the creepy voice, and Savio was lucky that the boys were too distracted to see Savio chuckling into his hand that he had sneakily moved to his mouth.

When the boys ran off screaming, Savio sat up laughing. “Wow, Xeo. You sure showed them!” The acrobat kidded. He then stood up and mimicked what he thought the ghost as done, changing his voice to playfully mock the stereotypical ghost voice, all extended vowels and quivering tones. He then flashed Xeona a grin. “Well? Have another location in mind?” Savio asked once he calmed enough.

Xeona couldn't do else but laugh at Savio's faked accent. It was pretty much spot-on the accent people used when they tried to mimic ghosts. Xeona couldn't understand why they used that voice, though. "Of course there are more locations! I got some new tricks up my withered sleeve. Our next stop is the Safehaven Hostel. There will always be someone living there not aware of the dangers at night. Perfect." Xeona pointed towards the Hostel. "Shall we?"

When the two arrived, Xeona scanned the area for any monks wandering around. He didn't want to put Savio in any kind of danger, and the most dangerous thing would probably be a monk finding about this. When he had ensured that the coast was clear, he turned to Savio. "Alright, same deal as last time. I'll be a bit closer at hand this time, so don't worry. You'll hear when I'm about to start." With those words, Xeona turned invisible once again and waited fairly close to Savio this time. The waiting game would be played once again.

Show your true colors! (Savio)

Savio looked up, his attention instantly caught at the mention of the dangers of the night. He looked up at the sky and was instantly alarmed by the sight of the pastel colors of dusk and the rapidly setting sun. His grey eyes widened as he looked to Xeona. “I need to get back to the school! I didn’t bring any mizas with me to rent a room for the night and it’s almost night time!” The panic was clear in his voice. Since the events of last season and seeing The Lady in Purple on the roof top of the school, Savio had become very leery of the night in Nyka.

He knew that by the time he reached the North quarter, it will already be completely dark with only torches and moonlight to light his way. Without waiting for Xeo to follow, Savio took off in a hard run for the school. Normally he would take the rooftops but with all the rain they have been getting and the fog, it would be incredibly dangerous for him so he stayed on the cobblestoned streets.

The bridge of the Dead looked even more eerie than normal with their shrines to loved ones long deceased shrouded with fog and darkness. Savio could hear the creatures in the aperture below. He could hear them being roused from their daytime slumber and starting their climb of the slopped walls of their home to reach the city that surrounded them. He felt he couldn’t run fast enough, that at any moment some monstrosity was going to jump out and eat him alive.

It didn’t take him too long to cross the bridge into the Northern Quarter. His heart was hammering in his chest as he continued to sprint, fear fueling his legs to push him to run faster. He ran past a monk or two, and they urged him to run faster. One even ran alongside him for several chimes before he fell back to return to his post. It was a small comfort but it did nothing to shake off the feeling that he was being followed. It was like a prickling at the back of his neck, or something at the corner of his vision that he missed every time Savio tried to focus on it.

Until something halted him; a few yards away, what appeared to be a large dog stood in his way. Savio couldn’t see much of it due to the fog but it didn’t look like it should. He tried to approach it but it growled menacingly just as the fog cleared just enough to catch sight of it. It looked mutated and grotesque with spines along its furless back. It’s eyes seemed to glow in the darkness as it stepped forward slowly. It had long and sharp-looking fangs that jutted from its mouth and equally sharp claws on it’s paws.

Savio found himself frozen in place, unable to run but at least he had enough sense to unsheathe his dagger so that he would have some form of protection against the whatever-it-was. “X-xeona… What is that?” Savio whispered in a hoarse voice.

Xeona wasn't surprised that Savio was scared of the night. What did surprise him was how scared he was. He hadn’t seen any grown man this scared of the night, even in Nyka. Something traumatic must’ve happened to him... When Savio bolted away, Xeona took chase. He tried to catch up with him, which was easier said than done. He was pretty confident that Savio could still sense him, so he didn’t bother materialising.

While Savio was running, Xeona was reminded of why he had chosen this specific day for asking Savio to play pranks with him. The fog did usually inflict fear at nighttime, making you unsure if something from the Aperture would show up or not. And you’re lucky if ”not” is your answer. The following chimes, Xeona was struggling with keeping up to Savio, as he was running faster now. When he did manage to maintain around the same speed, he tried to make Savio feel safer.

It was highly unlikely that he would stop until they arrived at the Iron Fist School, at least if an Aperture creature didn’t jump out in front of them. But alas, Savio stopped, almost frozen in his steps. Xeona looked around to see what had caught his attention.

It was a marrow dog.

Xeoan was filled with fear. They had been so kind as to share to him what they were capable of. ”Th-that’s a marrow dog.” He told Savio, in the same hushed tonee as him, trying not to catch the marrow dog’s attention. ”They can mess you up real bad... Especially if threy’re in a group, which they usually are... Be prepared for others lurking around here...”

He gave Savio a serious look. He was fully aware that he couln’t see it, but he still insisted in making one. ”If you get messed up too bad, remember that I am always at your side.”

As if on cue, the sounds of growling came from behind them and Savio turned to see three more ‘Marrow Dogs’ behind them. Savio gulped and looked around for some sort of escape. He saw a small pile of crates propped against the far wall past the pack of three dogs. If only he could reach it before they caught a hold of him.

The acrobat drew his dagger and tried to keep the beasts in his line of site. He hoped that was all of them, and that there wasn’t more hiding in wait in the shadows. “Shyke…” Savio muttered to himself. “I can’t take them all on my own, but I can escape if only I can get past them and on to the roof. They can’t climb… Right?”

"I do have a feeling they can... It's not like they have a stairway up from the Aperture or anything..." How would Savio get past the marrow dogs who just arrived at the scene? One of them would probably take him down before he could get up to the rooftops. Unless they were busy with something else... Or someone else...

Maybe they had another option. Another way of getting out of this little trap. But Xeona couldn't see another way. He materialised once again, facing towards the pack of three. "Run when you can. Don't bother looking back." After that simple warning to Savio, he ran out, past the dogs. Sure enough, they followed.

As he struggled with keeping the marrow dogs at a distance, he kept wondering if Savio was at a safe distance away from these things. As he kept thinking, another dog suddenly lunged at him. He wanted to stay up, keep running, but the pain was too sharp. He couldn't risk blacking out once more. He dematerialised, and hoped that Savio would arrive safely to the School.

“Oh…Petch…” Savio cursed more so to himself rather than to Xeo. It was at least a small comfort that the Ghost was there with him. The acrobat could heart his own heart pounding in his ears, those beasts were frightening and he had never had to see such creatures up close before. He considered himself lucky in that aspect but it seemed that what little luck he had, had run out. Climbing hairless dogs with sharp teeth and claws. Lovely.

What his friend did next, though, had caught him completely off guard. Savio turned just in time to see the ghost materialize and run directly for the trio of marrow dogs, they off course gave chase but the one that had stood alone did not fall for it. It growled loudly, seeming to be enraged by the abandonment of its companions. Savio turned his attention back to the creature, his grey eyes narrowing slightly as he looked for a way to get past it and on to the rooftops.

The marrow dog seemed to have been following Savio’s train of thought because it rushed him, teeth bared and claws extended. It moved incredibly fast, so much so that Savio had little time to react before it leapt into the air and landed fully on his chest. Its claws dug in past the fabric of his clothes and deep into his flesh. He hissed in pain but he was still able to bring the dagger up and stabbed the beast in the neck, over and over again. It’s blood spilling out of it and onto the young man.

Savio struggled with the marrow dog for a few ticks more before it finally breathed its last breath and slumped heavily onto his chest. With a groan Savio managed to shove the corpse off of him and get to his feet. His shirt was in ruins across his chest, his blood and that of the now dead animal soaking into the cloth. He hissed in pain as he did a quick inspection of his wounds. There were several gashes across his chest from the marrow dog’s claws and he needed to get it cleaned before it had the chance to get infection. He looked back, hoping to see Xeo but he still saw nothing in the dense fog. With a groan he took off in a sprint, easily scaling the side of the building next to him so that he could get to the rooftops. The titles were slick with from the dampness of the weather, so he couldn’t run as fast as he would have liked. He even almost slipped off a few times.

After a few chimes he had finally navigated through the Northern quarter without too much issue. He clambered down onto solid ground and took off running once again until he was well within the welcoming safety of the School’s walls. He could only pray that Xeo was also somewhere safe.
