Sei sat cross legged, and the only sound was the steady breathing, and the constant rain hitting the apartment. He focused on his warmth, and felt a steady flow dribble down his arm. He conected the flow, and evened it into a steady stream. He opened his eyes, and concentrated on removing the warmth. He tried to imagine a drain, and started to feel the slow pull of warmth back to his chest. He forced his eyes to stay open, and winced as the drain completed. Just becaus he was getting better didn't mean it felt any less weird. He drained the djed from his arm untila smaller portion was contained. He focused on channelling the djed into his knuckles, and gave the apartment floor a lighter tap. He removed his fist and rubbed his knuckles, pleased to find a nice sized dent in the floor.
He felt a twinge of pain, and winced. He was trying to hard, and if he wasn't careful he would disable himself. He poked his arm, and flexed the muscles, releasing some tension, and resumed his lesson. He took a deep breath, and tuned in to the djed in his chest, unfortunately, to do so, he had to close his eyes. He pushed back his pain, and swallowed three times, making sure that he endured it. He was sweating like a hog, and his breathing was uneven and shakey. He pressed through it, and managed to get a small flow of djed into his left arm. He harnessed the warmth and guided it towards his knucles. He was almost out of focus, and by the time the warmth reached his elbow, he lost his concentration and the flow retracted to it's perch in his chest.
He fell back, and wheezed slightly. He pushed himself up, and tried to even out his breathing. After ten, long, deep breaths, he was able to calm his body, and he had stopped sweating as well. He had decided to keep his shhirt off, seding as how overheatinh wouldn't do him any good, and instead focused on his meditation. He closed his eyes, and searched yet again for the warmth in his chest, and when he had a proper grip, he began to guide the warmth through his joints. When the warmth was locked into his knuckles, he focused on transfering the djed, and focused with all his might, and expelled the djed. He felt a hint of drainage, and then to his surprise he felt the warmth reappear in his right arm. Please don't be a fluke! He thought, tapping the ground. He winced slightly, and rubbed his stinging knuckles, pleased to see his little experience had given him an opportunity. He paced around, and thought carefully about his next moves.
For the whole time he'd been practicing, he'd only been using his arms. It wasn't as bad as he thought, and the meditation helped other things besides finding his djed. He had thought using his arms was the best he could do, but he began to wonder about his other joints. He began wanting to experiment, and decided to try his legs. He thought about for a bit, and decided to write down his thoughts. He walked into his bedroom, and took up his quill once more, and began to write:
'Flux is the use of djed to simulate the muscles in a desired area, and I'm beginning to think about using it on other areas besides my arms. If I do, I plan to go over the risks thoroughly.'
He finished up and removed his boots, and walking into his living area, he sat in a chair. He closed his eyes, and searched for his djed. He began to sweat, and by the time he had reached the flow, he was out of breath. He pressed on, and he was soon able to feel a pinch of warmth, which vanished when he could no longer handle the strain. He panted, and wiped the sweat from his brow. Maybe there was a reason he hadn't tried his other joints yet. He slumped to the floor and started his meditation. Once calm, he would start again. |
