Jenni followed Sayeo patiently, listening to his explanation of the floor systems. Six floors… that made sense, with each floor dedicated to something different. An interesting way of organizing it, really. She nodded occasionally, just to show she was taking in the information. When given the robe, she took it with a muttered “Thank you,” and folded it over her arm. She’d try to keep it away from stains and creases… it looked to nice and white to ruin.
On and on they wound through the building, her tour guide talking happily and explaining the way things worked. She appreciated the detail, liking to know as much as possible. He even tried to throw out a bit of persuasion to staying in the library, but it was a little subtle. She’d made up her mind, and though she actually quite liked the idea, and the place… She wasn’t quite prepared to completely move somewhere else. She was quite settled in her own home, and generally had plans to stay there… well… forever. It may have sounded a little immature, but she preferred the Twilight Tower, for all that it held a lot of her family as well.
Finally they came to the dorms, and another Seeker. Until then, the morpher had only caught fleeting glances of other residents, rather than actually talk to someone. The girl was comfortingly average, and had seemed to be quite comfortable reading… until they interrupted. Actually, the Twilight felt a little guilty about that… she didn’t like people distracting her when she was reading. They had some warm, friendly greetings, nice compared to some of the others Jenni had experienced.
She smiled back at Madeline, though her grin wasn’t quite as wide. “Hail, Madeline,” she replied, unable to hide the tiniest of smirks. It wasn’t anything negative, but rather the word felt incredibly awkward on her tongue… but she wanted to reply to the greeting in kind. She realized she was probably expected to hold some kind of conversation, ask questions about living in the Library and how it was being a Seeker. However… at the moment… she didn’t quite feel up to meeting social norm. Instead, she focused on something else that caught her attention.
“What are you reading about?” she asked friendlily, pointing to the abandoned book.
