A surreal cavern city inhabited by Symenestra where stones glow and streets are reams of silk. Cocoon like structures hang between stalactites and cascade over limestone flows in organic and eerie arabesques. Without a Symenestra willing to escort you, entrance is impossible.

Sosicly had checked the Purging, then the Nest only to find her needed human missing. Not missing per se, just making things difficult by being far up near the Woven Gates.

Following the red strand road she passed up the more obvious places to the building that always made her feel uncomfortable. Likely due to its attempt at being more like the topside houses. With its wood painted walls, odd death trap staircase, and strange beds. The only comfort was the familiar silken walls, that really added no comfort at all due to the lack of Symenestra that populated the Public house.

Sosicly huffed in annoyance as she pulled out her book, and accosted the nearest attendant with her words. I am looking for the human healer, Oscar. Take me too him, please.

The woman looked at Sosicly in surprise then shot her a sly look. However, the other Sym turned away too quick for her to really interpret the look. It seemed strangely reminiscent of the first time she had met the healer. And she trotted along behind the attendant until she reached a room where the attendant knocked politely near the door and wandered off with a wink.

Finally understanding the implications of the look, Sosicly shook her head, and waved her hands in a slashing motion but the attendant only continued to smile, "Secrets safe with me." she called over her shoulder.

The woman was actually an idiot.

Without waiting for Oscar to allow her, Sosicly pushed into the room and located the nearest bed, then sat down comfortably. Glancing around she noted other beds but no occupants, and the healer standing a few feet away.

Getting straight to the point Sosicly held out her book to him, her expression carefully blank. She remember old words about how a healer of Rak'keli would never turn down someone sick, and how Oscar had even healed Shausha in the Temple. Still she did not trust it but the constant pain in her chest reminded her it was necessary.

I wish for you to be my personal healer. You will figure out how to fix me, since Hellebore cannot do it.

Hiring New Help (Oscar)

Postby Oscar on September 17th, 2013, 1:12 am

Frustrated best described Oscar at the moment, one of the rare times he allowed the emotion to take over. His faced was scrunched up in concentration as he looked focused within himself, trying in vain to force Djed from his body to wrap itself around the gold miza in his hand. It happened often to him, Shielding was not a speedy process and even with the needed meditation it could take extreme focus for someone as unskilled as him to fully utilize it. The difficult part was expending the Djed, pushing it out of his body to form the needed barrier around the golden token.

After a few more moments the healer sighed and took several deep breaths, inhaling through his nose and exhaling out through his mouth. He closed his eyes and focused on the goal he was trying to achieve, calming himself and reanalyzing the situation less stressfully. Forcing this was not going to make anything any easier. Focusing on letting it flow was the key here, perhaps with some incantations as well.

He took a few more deep breaths, clearing the clutter from his mind and focusing on only the situation at hand. He allowed a few halted words in the Ancient Tongue to repeat in a sequence, feeling his focus upon allowing the Djed to flow sharpen.

Finally after the effort involved a small cloud of pure shimmering Djed puffed from his lips, flowing to the Miza and enveloping it. Oscar felt the drain upon him as the Djed left his body, Shielding tired him much more than Healing ever could. Though, if his instructor was to be believed it would only get much easier if he worked hard at it. The man started working the Djed onto the Miza, moving the gold token in his hands to allow it to soak up the precious energy.

Oscar worked with small things like Miza's most often when it came to testing his shielding capabilities, it was an easy way to practice and required less Djed than shielding larger items. The healer worked at the Miza, soon using up the energy. He willed another cloud to escape his lips, not even needing to inspect it to know that there were holes in the creation.

Unfortunately his work was cut abruptly short as his door swung wide, the soft knock having gone unnoticed in his concentration, nearly causing the healer to jump out of his skin. He fumbled with the Miza, his focus completely broken by the unexpected interruption. The token fell from his hand and onto the bed he'd been sitting cross-legged upon.

Oscar quickly gathered up the Miza and laid it somewhere out of view of the Symenestra woman who he knew by name. Sosicly, graceful as any Symenestra he had laid eyes upon strode brazenly into his room and sat down. Hopefully she hadn't seen anything, explaining his magic was certainly not something he wanted to do. Being a healer was one thing, they were generally regarded as helpful and safe to be around. Being a wizard, even a poor one, was a stigma of sorts among most people.

It was rather odd for a Symenestra to seek him out, in fact Oscar couldn't recall speaking to Sosicly after that rather embarrassing debacle at the Temple. Naturally he had assumed she was avoiding him, which was rather disheartening but he figured she's seek him out at her own time. Navigating Kalinor was rather difficult for one such as him, even after the season of being in the city. As such visits to others would likely turn into a hazard for his health.

He struggled to regain his composure as the Symenestra woman sat down and proffered her book to him, trying to get his mind to catch up to the events. His eyes carefully looked over the elegantly written Symenos, picking at each to get his translation correct. Common was his preferred tongue still, but his command of Symenos was getting better he felt.

Oscar regarded Sosicly with a raised eyebrow. Personal Healer? That seemed an odd request to make, especially considering he was a healer in service to the city as a whole. It seemed as though she considered his own abilities to be far more than they were.

Remembering to keep his manners he switched his bemused expression to one more friendly, trying his hardest to keep up. He opted to speak in Symenos for her benefit.

"Hello to you, Sosicly. The day finds you well?" He politely inquired, turning his attention to the request that sounded more like a command.

"I am healer to the city. If you need healing then the clinic is always open. I am there most of the time. Hellebore is... better with medicine than I am." He offered, his command of the tongue leaving much to be desired.

Hiring New Help (Oscar)

Postby Sosicly Magnolia on September 21st, 2013, 7:45 pm

Sosicly gave Oscar a look at his question, that clearly stated how foolish she thought it before replying with a terse short stroke of her quill. No.

At his next words however, she threw down her book in disgust, and stood up, swaying a bit on her feet. A couple shakes of her head, and she began a silent rant, that Oscar could hardly be expected to follow. Her arms waved, and pointed to herself, to Oscar, in the general direction of the Purging. She finished with a stop of her foot, and resettled herself with a soft wheeze.

Hellebore and I have opposite opinions of the word better. She wrote out finally, not wishing to say anymore on her thoughts about the head doctor. I don't want to be a...display a the Purging. You will come to my home. I will compensate you.

Though her words were more demands than anything, Sosicly was aware of the fact that she had barged in, and displayed herself in the not the most pleasant manner. She also knew Oscar could refuse, and cast him slightly worried glances, her eyes tightening in both chest pain and annoyance.

As she handed him the book, Sosicly took a better look around the room, before landing on the Miza on the man's bed. Was he counting his coin? Holding the piece up, she gestured between herself and Oscar, trying to indicate if he wished to for money as compensation. Feeling a bit foolish she plucked the book away, and dipped her quill to write again. You have a Goddess, she is a good...doctor? I wish for both your help. I have got worse, Hellebore cannot fix.

Tilting the book back, Sosicly brought her legs up, to wrap her lengthy arms around, she was tired now too. she could only imagine trying to get home at this point. Letting out another wheeze she waited, her eyes never leaving Oscar's face.
