23 Summer 508
The light in the small room came from a single flickering candle, and the wind howled outside. Taylani might have been fearful but she was here with her Mother, and all would was as it should be. It was just another summer storm, though Taylani did not like storms at all. Her red hair was loose now, as she sat in the chair by the table in her night clothes. Her feet no longer dangled above the floor, and already her breasts were budding beneath her night clothing. She hated that most of all, they just got in the way of dancing.
Taylani's father was out, there had been some knights armor that got dinged up and they had to be fixed. However Angelia was here, her own red hair streaked with gray flowed down as well. Taking the seat beside her daughter, Angelia places wire, and a handful of pearly white beads on the table. The older red head then laid another handful of small silver studs and a needle nosed pair of pliers.
"To keep our minds off the storm outside Tayla, I thought we would string up a necklace for you to wear at your recital in three moon turns." Her voice was husky, low pitched for a woman but her tones were mellow and rich. Taylani always loved to hear her mother's voice, finding it soothing and relaxing.
"Mama I don't like to make jewelry."" Taylani said, with only a small amount of petulance in her voice. Even as she spoke, her hands reached for the wire and measured out a length.
"A little longer there Tayla, remember that you need to leave room enough for the clasp and for the studs that will hold the beads in place." Angelia does not move to help her daughter, tonight Taylani will make the necklace all by herself. Taylani glanced up at her mother with a slightly annoyed glance but dutifully measured out another inch of wire before snipping the metal with a audible 'click'.
