Sharika waits patiently for each of the people who came forward to feel the tum of the barely pregnant women and take their seats once more. She eyed each of them quietly as they strolled by, Yes she expected that by late spring she would be right busy birthing babies and the thought made her smile. May Lhex keep her around to see the rebirth of the Drykas.

Once the movement settled Sharika shambles back to the middle of the open area, already weariness was effecting her movements. Her gnosis kept most of it at bay, but even that wearied her. Soon it will be time for her to be sent out into the grasses to be returned, her body laid to rest for animals and carrion to prey upon. This might shock some of the captives, but for the Drykas it was a way that they returned to the Grasses, and quite possibly aids in their rebirth into their society.

"The next stage of the pregnancy is the second term, months four through six. This is an exciting time for this is when the baby begins to make its presence known." Sharika smiled, and waved for another woman to join her. Joiya stood, her wind marks proudly displayed upon her face in a swirl of lines running from the tip of her eye to the tip of her mouth. Her tum was extended further then the first, but was no where near the biggest that it would get. She rolled her tunic up, over the top of her belly. Sharika presses her hands against the rounded belly, smiling when she felt the tiny flutter of the baby movement.

"This is when you will begin to feel the baby move. Do not fret if you don't feel it too early, many do not start feeling distinct movements until half way through the second term. However this is usually because they do not associate the tiny flutters as the baby. Trust me by the time you deliver you will long for the days of the flutter. Drykas babes are stout and they are hearty, they make their presence well known."

Sharika pats the belly but the other woman doesn't lower her shirt. "The morning sickness most often leaves by this time, but its not unusual either for some to continue to experience bouts. Basil is still good. Also you might begin to crave to eat strange foods, or excessive amounts of a certain food. This is good, indulge if you can. It is thought that this is your body's way of saying your lacking in one nutrient or another."

She moves back to her stool, sitting heavily, wearily but still smiling. "This is the time of pregnancy that things seem most normal. Your body is adjusting to the new life, you are strong, you are powerful. It wont be until the third term that you will find the most side effects. Is there any questions, while the same people who came up before come again to examine this woman's womb?"

[Event] Pregnancy and Changes

Issy had yet to encounter the Drykas way of death, but once she did, she might understand it. The animal in her oddly enough could comprehend the recycling of the body back to the world that the Drykas would do with their dead. Animals had to eat too, afterall! And for a moving nation, why tote all those carcasses around? It would be tasteless and wasteful.

Then the elder spoke of the second term, that which Issy was already into. Subtly, her hand fell to the growth that curved above her legs, her thumb carressing it as her eyes met her knees. She was still lost on what could be done about Cotice, the protocols of these strangers so alien to the Syliran. The family's had heads of tents and those heads were law; but what did you do when that head was wrong? When the values they normally stuck to like sap to a fly became not but whispers and actions normally abhorred were favored?

Her sour thoughts broke at the shifting beneath the warm wool of her blouse, the sensation making her toes twitch within the moccasins and her back straighten a little. It was odd to feel another life within you, the kelvic's innate curiosity wanting to poke and jab and solve the mystery as her animal might; she certainly felt no sympathy for the unborn other than that which put her and it through the misery she was in. Her maternal instincts were not nearly as strong as they should have been, and looking around the rest of the tent, that was only underlined more.

Some women showing as keenly of belly as she was rubbed and caressed their bellies with fondness and excitement. A few of them looked like captives, too. How could they be excited about carrying the unwelcome seed of another? It was disgusting, and Issy's lip curled ever so slightly in reflection of these thoughts. But her fascination quickly replaced it as she watched the Drykas women instead and how tenderly they whispered to some of these dames, sharing in their excitement and the little flutters and sometimes jabs of tiny hands or knees or feet within their wombs.

Issy looked to her left but that did not help any. The woman there was further along than she, and looked older, appearing to have been through this before. The woman on her right was nodding as well and stroking her belly too. Her attention snapped back to the front when she heard Sharika talk about the hardiness of Drykas young.

They made their presence known? What did that mean? Her brow knit down in a pensive frown and she dropped her eyes to her belly once more, fingers splaying across it this time. Was it to burst like a peach rotting in the sun from her for the aggressive movements that would come? The idea frightened her but she dismissed the thought quickly for being nothing more than a runaway imagination. Babies didn't burst from your belly, they came from...

Tis just a part of the process.

Sharika had returned to the stool and women were coming to the front again to examine the one who waited with her face marked and shirt raised. She was asking of any had questions. Truth be told, Issy had many, but not all she felt should yet be asked, especially not before this throng. Hesitantly, at first, the woman raised her hand, lowered it, then finally raised it again, wild eyes watching the elder from afar.

Once she was called on, she spoke in crisp common, "What about someone like me? So far as I can tell, you are all human." She looked around at them, unsure. "I'm not. Will things be the same for me as they are for the rest of these women?" She felt eyes on her, and normally this would not have caused problems, but after what had happened when Cotice found out, Issy felt angst about having spoken out. Would they bring down upon her their wrath as well? Her fight or flight instincts flared to the fore of her mind and the kelvic adjusted her position on the stool once more.

Her mind went to Taylani and the acceptance she had felt in that one's presence. Would these women accept the knowledge too? "I already feel movement." She said again stiffly, "And know it will be more and more dangerous to shift as time goes on but..." Her eyes looked to Sharika, locking eyes with the old healer in communication. The delicate situation was not one she needed everyone in the world to know about. "Should I anticipate the same as these other women? What if I shift too often? Will I be hurt?" No concern for the unborn, further amplifying her disconnected sense to it right now.
