Traveling along the Kabrin Road, even the most unobservant rider would notice that as they approach the Konrath plantation of Boldvine the landscape begins to shift from that of the standard, mossy vegetation of a swamp to the more elegant and serene setting of a bamboo forest. Unique to the region, this patch of fertile land was quickly claimed by the Akalak and Konti family, for, in their eyes, it truly represented both the strength and fortitude of their men, yet also captured the reserved and delicate nature of their women.
Originally hailing from Riverfall, the Konrath Family took to Kenash a bit more easily than some of the other founding Dynasties, since, on the whole, they were accustom to living in a similar environment. Heavy rains, mud, and high winds were already very much a part of their way of life, so, to them, the setting immediately felt like home.
Tapping into the resources provided by this neck of the region, the Konrath Family began to carefully harvest the bamboo forest, turning it into lumber to be used in the building of structures, as well as the crafting of furniture and weapons. However, fearing that they would exhaust their supply too quickly, they soon made the decision to add both cotton and tobacco, as well as various tropical fruits, to the list of crops that they would harvest and trade.
Proud of what they could produce with their core crop of bamboo, the homestead that they proceeded to build at the center of their plantation would essentially become a showcase of their many wares. Bamboo would be used to not only build the impressive, multi-level structure they would come to reside in, but it would be employed to make nearly every piece of furniture found within, as well as every door and shutter, every sconce, windowblind, and floor mat.
As for the grounds of their estate, the family would do everything in their power to bring a taste of their Riverfall home with them to Kenash. Meandering streams partnered with great stone patios and enhanced by expansive bamboo decks would soon dot the land, just as manmade falls, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, would roar, pouring into deep, secluded pools scattered across the scape.
The quarters of the slaves, while kept fairly simple, would still end up being some of the loveliest in all the region, for the builders could not help themselves from experimenting with their newfound materials as they added each new structure. So, all in all, while being a slave certainly remains an undesirable position in most of Kenash, it is a tad bit more tolerable on the Boldvine plantation.

Crops
2400 Acres of Fertile Land with a Workforce of 120 Slaves
Bamboo - Forest of bamboo takes up 530 acres of Boldvine land. It requires twenty slaves to maintain. Boldvine uses a rotating method of planting different varieties to keep the ground from being depleted.
Tobacco - Tobacco is a plant that thrives on drier hot weather, so the Konraths have employed a reverse irrigation method. They built up 1000 acres of land, mounding soil to create a 'high ground'. Channels are cut into these mounds so that as the slaves tend the Tobacco plants the excess water drains down. This requires a work force of fifty slaves.
Cotton - The cotton fields are located directly below the built-up soils of the Tobacco fields. This way the water that drains away from the tobacco plants flow down to settle into puddles around the cotton plants. Cotton is a fairly easy plant to maintain if you have plenty of water. Fifty slaves are dispersed during the harvesting for the boles of cotton are notoriously laborious to pick.
