While Sylira is by far the most civilized region of Mizahar, countless surprises and encounters await the traveler in its rural wilderness. Called the Wildlands, Syliran's wilderness is comprised of gradual rolling hills in the south that become deep wilderness in the north. Ruins abound throughout the wildlands, and only the well-marked roads are safe.

ooc :
Oh god I disappeared forever but now I'm back and Stitch told me to post. So I'll post!

Rhuryc grunted. Stuck, pricked, harassed, and trapped, the contestable vines had not wanted to let him go even after they had departed, leaving him to make his own way back to the wayward group of adventurers. His boots clattered against the unfriendly terrain in his haste, his lesser wounds ignored for the time. How was he supposed to find them? The darkness that enveloped him was frightening. His nerves already asunder the young man felt panic streak down his spine. Back. Forward. How could he tel which direction lie where? There was nothing. Just nothing. He spun about on his heels, his body jerked to and fro as if a lost animal, distraught, alone. Scared. This was to be his end? Scattered to the darkness with nothing but himself, lost, abandoned, and without hope. His knuckled whitened around the hilt of his sword, the old, wizened blade lowering to tap the unforgiving ground. Rhuryc had never surrendered before.

What was that? His ears twitched. Something echoed from the far reaches of the corridor, a soft, happy voice. Singing? The melody was sweet. Alluring. Like the the siren's call Rhuryc found himself drawn to the tune. His shoulders relaxed, his chin raised, that was Stitch! Beautiful, beautiful man! Forward. He took a step. Crunch. Was that vine on his shoe? Fah! He felt his body shiver. Forward. Another step. His courage mustered with every inch of new ground. He had a guide now. Gently, as if frightened to disturb his ephemeral savior, Rhuryc's own baritone joined the harmony of Stitch's music, a rumble that whispered its own life.

The incey wincey spider
Climbed up the spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out.

The music soothed him. Despite the childish lyrics Rhuryc found himself comforted and once more in control of himself. His pace quickened. He could hear them, closer now. The slump of his boots echoed down the eerie causeway until it was that the man found himself at the back of the group. Darkness plagued them still, yet a single shaft of light remained on their path. The man said nothing. He stepped up beside Stitch and gave his comrade a slight nod. There was no mention of his lagging, no sigh of relief or vow of thanks. Just silence. For Stitch, his aura was nothing short of grateful, hopeful, yet still tinges of fear plagued his mind. From the exterior Rhuryc was nothing short of a rock, a calm, shaped warrior, but this Labyrinth was no place for a mortal man. And he knew that.

There was no protest at the choice. Stitch was their leader after all and Rhuryc was more than amiable at allowing him to make the decisions. So it was that their trek continued. More darkness. Yet it was the chill that bothered him most. How deep were they? The surface seemed so far, the sun so distant. Then there were the voices. Ghostly, horrifying, the echoes would disturb any hardened veteran, and Rhuryc held no immunities. Every step brought him closer to Stitch and the others. Laughter turned to sorrow, then sorrow to pain. The screaming plagued his ears, it warned him. Instincts told him to run. To drop everything and turn back. Leave the others! Life was all that mattered. What would the rest of them do? Would they run with him? No. Rhuryc shifted uncomfortable, his breathing erratic, but he kept forward. One step after the next. The man focused the full brunt of his concentration on the path ahead, just walk. Left foot. Right foot.

"Fade?" Rhuryc stopped and turned, his eyes latching onto the convulsing form of their only female comrade. Instinctively, an arm came out to guard Stitch. The man did not need his protection, but it felt right, his shield held aloft before the group as if it would shield them from whatever evil held the woman. What was this madness? When she stood his relief lasted only until she spoke, cryptic words from a creature beyond his understanding. With a grunt Rhuryc shifted himself in front of the kick and lowered his body to take the hit. Fade was a slight, small thing. The strike was easy to ignore.

"What holds you girl?! Snap out of it!"

[Sanea Labyrinth] Lost in a Labyrinth (Invite Only)

Postby Stitch on March 26th, 2011, 5:09 pm

Stitch cast his magical eyes about, studying the darkness, trying to figure out exactly what lurked here. What were the cryptic messages of earlier? Was it best that they turn back? The further he went into these shadows, the more he felt they were in some kind of danger. At this point, he was almost regretting hiring these kind souls to come and guard him. Not that he wasn't grateful for their help, for he would have long been gone without them... but he hated that he had to drag people into this detestable place alongside him. And all he had come for was a book.

Suddenly, a different kind of Aura flickered into view, one far different then anything Stitch had ever encountered before. It was right on top of Fade, too. Stitch spun, releasing the hand he held, trying to shout out a warning before Fade was overcome. His words never rose to his lips though, for the shadow flew fast, and it flew hard. It slammed into Fade and took her, an inky black Aura surging around her own, containing it, trapping it. Dominating it. Stitch dared to think he knew what was about to happen, but he wished with all he had that it wasn't the case. He had, after all, never seen anything like this. An outside Aura with no real physical body? But one that apparently could force itself within another body? He had no real idea what in the world it could be. This was the lair of a former wizard, though. Anything could be in here.

Lost in his thoughts, he barely had time to react as Fade moved forward, in a series of graceful and acrobatic moves. He was halfway through stepping back from her sudden strike when Rhuryc slid into view, taking the hit, shouting out to Fade. Stitch added on his own words, his voice booming out, ignoring the words of whatever had taken her.

"Milady! This one can still see you in there! This one doesn't know if you can hear this one, but if you can... fight! Fight it! You must overcome what domninates you!"

Just like that, Stitch shot out an arm, striking out at a blazing speed, grabbing onto the wrist of Fade. If he could. He aimed for the bare skin right below her wrist, trying to at least briefly contact skin. She had told him about her Gnosis Mark back at the Orphanage, about the marking Ranuri had placed upon her... and if Stitch was remembering it all correctly, then he could activate it by touch.

With touch would come her overwhelming desire to fulfill Stitch's need. His need for her to fight her way free.

[Sanea Labyrinth] Lost in a Labyrinth (Invite Only)

Postby Fade on April 16th, 2011, 1:21 pm

The voices troubled Fade as they walked on, the screams and giggles taunted her mind, tugging at her emotions. One step at a time they plunged deeper into the Labyrinth, everything looked dangerous and she kept looking out for the killer vines, but she had a feeling they were way over that, the vines had been nothing compared to what they would have to face.

Then Fade suddenly felt a chill running up her body, her throat contracted, she gasped her hand clawing at her throat, but they would not move she collapsed spasms running up her slender body. Then she got up again, no it wasn’t her she wasn’t in control, Fade panicked for a moment when she heard the eerie voice coming form her own lips. She tried to move but she felt held back, pushed away from her own body, restrained.
“You shouldn’t be here, you’re dancing your way into shadows! You want to play? We’ll play.” She didn’t even know what that meant but it was from her throat that it had come from. Her body surged forward to hit Stitch but fortunately Rhuryc parried the blow quickly. And she heard Stitch urging her to fight, but fight what…herself? How on earth could she do that?

But then Stitch grabbed her wrist, and the compulsions surged through her, she had no time to resist them so his need became her need. Whatever force was holding her down would be extremely surprised at the mental blow that would emanate from Fade, she was fighting with another will, and she was fighting with the gift of her goddess. She was giving more that she could have ever given alone without Stitch’s order. She was fighting for something she had never imagined she would lose: her own body.
Fade raked at the captor inside her mind pushing, biting, screaming, doing anything she could to lift the weight off her, to get whatever was controlling her out, and she wouldn’t stop until she had become free, or at least until she remained conscious or alive.
