Timestamp: 35th winter 513 AV
Location: Dock District, one of the decks for arriving boats.
Weather: Clear sky and slight breeze
Time: Around six P.M

Over the laughs and the Lute notes Shuniah didn't even hear the deep, slow ding-dong of the dock bells. As she was about to draw a card the loud voice of Shamus announced the arrival and as such, to prepare for docking. "Whaa?" asked she slightly dazed. "We're here Shun, Syliras is just a few moments away, we should get ready." replied Hoggs drinking up his ale. Shun stood up and looked out of the window of the Pavilar to see the lights of the torches and whatsoever of the biggest city she'd seen so far. "woah, it's huge, and look at those towers" It was quite the show for someone who mainly saw deserts and seas for the entire life. "Yup, this is the capital allright. Now come on, help us out." "sure!" She dressed up for the outside temperature, her red hat hidden by the brown hood was still visible due to the many cotton stripes hanging out swinging as the wind imposes. A dark brown scarf was covering her from neck to nose, tied firmly behind the hood and under the black tunic she was not too proud of. Surrounded by baggy beige breeches the tight wool stockings were preventing the legs from freezing and the brown riding boots would do the same with the feet. Since she would be active she left the furry white cape, rolled and tied up to her backpack.

Finishing the ale wasn't easy, she had quite some already and the taste frankly wasn't appealing at all. With a gentle push of the leg she parted the door and took a deep breath of the cold, refreshing air, clearing the lungs from passive smoke hosted in the room. The sky was clear and the moon was shining, making it easier to see. As usual the crew was ready as hell to dock, probably eager to set foot on firm land after such a long journey. Barney was happier than anyone else, after all he went thru.

"Hey Shun, grab that rope over there and make a tie" "which one?" "which tie or which rope?" "I know which rope, you just pointed at it which tie do I have to tie?" "The one I taught you yesterday when I said that you'll need it for the docking!" shouted Kalvin before turning away"Right!" Shun grabbed the rope and focused on remembering how was the damn tie supposed to be. A few twists and turns and there it was. She heard the crew starting to chant one of them sea songs she couldn't remember nor cared about, it was a nice joint, good people just sailing around, doing their business, dirty or not, didn't matter, she had fun and felt already a sense of sadness having to leave.

After the docking, the first footsteps on solid, hard and firm land felt like something new. It's been a long time indeed. Shun double checked for all here studd to be there, not many mizas left but probably enough to survive, for now. Shamus and the crew soon joined her on the wooden corridor that lead to the city. "Well Shun what'ya gonna do now?" asked Shamus, "yeah, you never told us" said Barney and Borgus almost at the same time. "well" Shun scratched her head thru the hood "I have someone to find, stuff to do, money to get, but I will never be able o thank you guys enough for all your help" " ah! don't bother Shun, it was nice to have a woman aboard" Shamus then fake whispered "especially for Kalvic, you know he's.." "Hey I can hear you!" interrupted Kalvic tapping Shamus on the shoulder. There was a moment of silence before Borgus giggled, following everyone else exploding in a heart-born laugh.

Thank you guys and mark my words, one day, I'll repay, just give me a few time. "You know where to find us" "right!" Shuniah saluted everyone once more and left, walking slowly towards the huge city, looking like it was waiting for her to come. *the land of opportunities, I wonder...I really wonder*

She looked herself around, it was quiet, she looked around and saw her mates starting to unload some stuff while another man joined them from another ship. Was that Kruger? She didn't know, nor she cared much, it was out of her controll and therefore out of her mind. Upon gazing around she noticed few people, mostly dirty man drinking but there was someone else, the shape was unclear but more reassuring than the junkies, she started her walk towards the figure while rubbing her hands to warm them up.

[Docks] Land sweet land.

Postby Kidd Saru on January 22nd, 2014, 6:26 pm

Kidd was standing on the docks waiting to see the Choarda woman the others had been talking about. He had never seen one and was really wanting to see one. It all started this morning on the seventh bell and 34 chime.

7:34 AM

He had left all his gear except the long spear at the inn, his spear was his best friend the Iron shaft cold to the touch tipped with a iron tip that looked like an x. He had hit the streets just a little after dawn and headed straight for The great Bazaar. Kidd had always liked the Bazaar all different kind of people and things were there, some helped satisfy the adventure that was brewing inside of him other only added passion to the flame.

Kidd had been in the middle of looking through a few old books about knights taking on various mythological beast. He wasn't the best reader but he could make out a few words, one sentience really sparked his passion. It went "Glory awaits those that have the courage to discover the unknown and the smarts to understand them." Kidd couldn't help but feel a tingle run down his body when he read that. The feeling didn't last long a young orphan boy that Kidd often played with barreled into him a loaf of bread flying from his hands. Kidd rolled to his feet "What was that for James?" he had just finished his sentence when he noticed the two knights standing over them. This wasn't good, The words repeated themselves in his head. He looked at his friend James who was nibbling on the bread as he cowered behind him.

Kidd hand was on his spear which lie on the ground next to him, crouched down Kidd looked up at the knights taking his hand off the spear with a smile on his face. "Hey now, lets not do anything rash" Kidd reached down pulling out 2 copper miza's and tossed them to the knights. "I told him to grab me a loaf, I must have forgotten to give him the money. I'm sorry Sir" Kidd bowed a bit then grabbed his spear and walked towards his friend pulling him up by his collar. They walked hurriedly around the corner before breaking into a sprint, he was sure the knights weren't going to forgive his friend that easy. They just weren't going to beat a child in the middle of the bazarr or at least Kidd hoped they wouldn't.

They ran until the heard the 8th bell before they ducked into a dark corner. Kidd didn't have much time he had done it a million times but never in a hurry. He slowed his breathing and pulled his Djed together as he began to create a shield. He weaved it together it had a soft gold glow to it that only another sheilder would be able to detect. Kidd had tasked this shield with blocking out the sunlight, in the hope that it would make the dark corner darker and that the knights would over look them. It took him longer then he thought and exerted him more then he would have imagined, but being in a rush didn't help. The shield though created was no where near perfect but it did block the sunlight causing the corner to seem blacker then night.

The sweat ran down his brow and he sunk to one knee, but couldn't keep that impish grin from appearing. As one of the knights passed by and the other stopping to glance into the corner his eyes furrowed as if they would help him see into the corner. It wasn't long before the knight gave up running after the other.

Kidd gave James a shove "How could you steal? I told you if you needed anything you could come to me!" James only stammered out a response "I was hungry and I did come to you." Kidd let out a huff releasing some of the anger that boiled inside of him. James's answer was not a satisfying one, but he wasn't the brightest boy in the kingdom either.

They sat in the corner as Kidd recovered his strength talking for what seemed like forever and playing pranks on those that passed by as the hid behind the shield. It had already made it to the 15th bell when his friend brought up the Chaorda he said he saw today.

Kidd couldn't believe his ears a fish person in Syliras it wasn't uncommon to see those from various races here, but Kidd had never met one of the Choarda and he the curiosity was eating him up as he friend continued to talk about it. Kidd couldn't take it anymore blurting out "Where did you see it!!!" James who was shocked could only squeak out "the docks"
Kidd was up on his feet spear in hand and took his shield down within a few minutes before he rushed back to the Inn where he was staying. He grabbed his coat and scimitar, Buckling the scabbard on and sheathing the sword before he walked out the door and then slipping the coat on as he ran for the docks juggling the spear as he slid the coat on. The 17th bell ringing as he ran.

He made it to the docks just 24 chimes before the 18th bell (6pm) and was gazing around trying to see if he could see the Charoda, but it seemed like it wasn't here yet, his friend said it would be here tonight that it was always here a night. All Kidd could see was a few drunken sailors and some lowlife that preferred the docks to the city of inhabited by knights. Though Kidd could see a few knights, it was no where near the number just a few 100 feet away that walked the city night and day.

It wasn't long after the 18th bell had rung that a ship seemed to have docked, Kidd couldn't see much but there was defiantly a figure coming toward him from the ship. Thinking it was the charoda and not being able to contain his excitement he began to wave, while jumping up and down yelling out "hey over here!!" If it wasn't for this cold winter fog that seemed to flow over the docks he might be able to tell who it was.

8 Chimes after the 18th Bell.

Today had been a long day. Having began working at the Salves since dawn, M'wanii had been all too glad to wave farewell to the Apothecary barely ten chimes ago. Her shoulders ached from carrying bucket of water to and from the tanks. Blasted seaweed was going to kill her before it grew properly. Still Mistress Blackleaf seemed happy enough with her work, so at least that was something..

Strolling out of the fortress, the amphibian pulled her cloak around her tighter against the winter chill. She was clad in her normal guise; a hooded cap pulled low over her head and a scarf wrapped around her neck pulled up high on her face, leaving only pupilless eyes obscured by shadow to be seen. She wasn't sure when it had began but she seemed to have developed a habit of visiting the docks each evening after work. Maybe it was just the chance to see the Suvan again that drew her there each day. The instinctive urge to swim dragging her back again and again to glaze at the deathly cold waters.

Come spring the waters around these parts would warm again, freeing her from the land and letting her fly through the waves once again. Until then the Charoda was bound to living life like the air breathers. Disgusting uncultured people bound to their violent ways. Some she had found to be tolerable but most earned only her ire. Sighing her gloved hand hitched the scarf higher up her face, hiding her feature once again from the world.

The docks were nearly empty as they normally were bar a boat load of sailors just making port for the night. Fog was swimming in making the air moist and cool, it floated over the harbour giving everything a blurred edge. Inhaling deeply the taste of the salt sea air rested on the amphibians tongue. A feeling of ease and tension washed over her, heart yearning to swim once again. Her boots clunked over the wooden part of the dock before she stopped herself. It was suicide to venture water-wards in this season.

Shaking her head sorrowfully at her own stupidity, the woman tensed up at the loud voices of the men off loading the ship. Seemed they were saying good bye to someone. Through the gloom she could only barely make out the shadow shapes of things. The figure then headed off in her direction. She should go, the last thing this new arrival needed was to meet someone as 'unique' as herself in a dark foggy dock. That concept alone was the base of many a Svefra horror story she had heard.

Turning on her heel to return to the main castle, an egar voice and footsteps blocked her route. What? Oh cuttlefish! Now trapped between two approaching figures, M'wanii stood frozen in place. It's going to be okay. Calm your fins. Right. Quickly the amphibian did a double check that all her guise was in it's proper place before facing the nearest oncoming land dweller. As they came through the fog, the Charoda made a small sound of shock. It probably sounded to any land dwellers similar to the click like squeak of a dolphin. The land dweller wasn't quite what she had expected.

A moment of distraction and the surroundings were beginning to get foggy, the figure shouted something in the distance. was someone waiting her? Who and how? Calm down Shun, it's probably someone mistaking, by the way, there's someone else. Travik's words were not to be taken seriously but in the current situation Shun believed him.
Despite everything she kept walking towards the figure now still. Travik was right, beyond the one in front of her was standing someone else, someone..shorter. *Just act cool Shun*.

She was about to pass by and open her mouth to say good evening when the hooded figure gasped in fright after looking at her causing herself to gasp and step back. "WHAT!" asked Shun surprised. Adrenaline kicked in, Shun stared at the intruder, it was likely to be a female judging by the measures of the body, it was well covered, almost too well, almost as to conceal herself...or maybe it was just cold. Clothes were hiding the body but despite the darkness she had a glance under the hood as their eyes met. Those eyes, were dark and wide. Was she? Could it be?!? "Good evening!!" exclamated Shuniah in Tawna, convinced at first that she'd met another of her race "I didn't see any of us this far from home" she extended the hand to greet the new acquitance "it's a pleasure to meet you!".

Kidd's excitement died out when he saw two figures in the fog, one speaking to the other in a language he didn't understand. It must not be the Choarda he thought. It was rare to see one why should he be the one so lucky to run into a group of them. Kidd let out a sigh mumbling "Damn James lied to me, I'm gonna knock him silly next time I see him" He kicked a bottle left on the docks and harder then he thought and watched it sail towards the shadows.

"oh shit!!" was the only words that could escape his lips as he ran after the flying bottle in the hopeless hope that he could catch it. He ran though the fog his feet pattering across the dock, the screeching of the wood and the bang bang of his foot steps was all he could here. Everything seeming to move in slow motion as the adrenaline pumped through his veins, causing a heightened sense of awareness. He heard the bottle hit the ground, letting a sigh of relief as he tried to stop before he barreled into one of the stranger. Only to slip falling into the two people and trying to grab anything to right himself. The spear falling from his hands and the feeling of cloth running across his fingers before he hit the ground banging his head on the dock.

"ahhhh that hurt!!" hissed Kidd as he rubbed his head a small smile on his face as he rubbed his sore head. He looked up at the too people standing there and smiled "Hi?" he said with an awkward laugh. His vision was a little blurry from banging his head, but as it started to clear up he could tell their was something different about these two. He just couldn't bring his thoughts all together to figure out who these people where just yet.

OOCHey sorry the post is so short, just couldn't think of anything. I tried pushing things forward so it wouldn't die at a meet and greet. Just let me know if i need to change my post. I hope we can, get a nice plot reason going Ic soon...or it might die at a meet and greet. Which i'd hate to see :) pm me if you got ideas.

As the figure looked directly at M'wanii felt a shiver go down her spine. The land dweller opposite had pitch blackness for eyes. The very sight made every fiber of the amphibians body to scream at her to run. Something was wrong here, I mean maybe they have some sort of disease or something.... Or maybe they were a kelvic, they had weird eyes right? The sudden “WHAT!” didn't help the already terrified Charoda in the slightest. Nor did the sudden shower of foreign words at her. What the pebbles?!?!

As the lady extended her hand, the amphibian guessed she was maybe greeting her. An extended hand out of the water usually meant that or a way of sealing a deal. What maybe the woman had just offered a deal with her and wanted to shake on it. Gah! Why couldn't things be more simple out of the water!? It was violent, smelly and weird out here with a high chance of getting weirder even on the most normal seeming of days. Why couldn't the weather just warm up already? A few chimes seemed to pass with the two before the loud footfalls of another caused M'wanii's head to whip around toward the figure.

Ready for anything, the Charoda didn't even flinch as a hatchling of a land dweller shot out of the fog. Obviously not at all aware of his surroundings the child proceed to smash into the amphibious lady near knocking her off balance. Whilst the little one colliding head first into the dock may not have caused M'wanii to be concerned that much, however the spear he had been carrying zipping past her eye did. What was wrong with these Land dwellers?! Were they so violence obsessed that they gave weapons to their young ones?!

Furious M'wanii knelt down and plucked the spear from the ground roughly, causing her scarf to tumble off he face and settle around her shoulders. Well, she certainly wasn't the weirdest person around judging by the woman opposite her, so it hardly mattered any more. Clenching the spear upright in her gloved hands, the amphibian glared down the child grinning up at them from the wood of the dock. Her scarred grey skinned face held that motherly look that meant trouble to all it was aimed. She was going to set some things straight. Completely ignoring the weird lady that had attempted to speak to her, she spoke to the hatchling land dweller, voice twinged with that tone that didn't leave space for dealing with naughty children.

“You be too young to own weapon. Who this belong to? Hmm? Tell me now or I get knights.”

The fear of her fellow chaktawe was so great it could almost take form in the air but Shuniah didn't understand why, was this a misunderstanding and the Chak was relly happy to see her? Or maybe the Chak didn't know it was a Chak therefore was suprised to see one. Or maybe this Chak didn't learn Tawna so wasn't understanding her. She smiled "Oh I'm sorry you probably don't speak Tawn..." Shun stopped as the sound of glass closing in came to her attention, she looked in the same direction as her new Chaktawe friend only to see a child armed with a spear running after a bottle, both closing in their direction.

She smoothly made a step backwards right before the kid tackled the Chak and bashed his head against the floor. The scene was funny and Shun couldn't help but giggle "haha Kid you drunk?" asked she after his words. But the smile turned quickly into an expression of horror as glancing at the scarfless Chak Shun realized that it was no Chak at all. A few moments of unforgettable awareness and lucidity as adrenaline levels in her blood skyrocketed. Those teeth, that skin, those eyes, how could she not notice? The thing was speaking to the boy, but Shun wasn't listening to her words, busy focusing on not passing out. *keep it together Shun, it's probably just a monster about to feast on your soul!* Finally she let an acute loud scream as she backed up against some wooden crates. She screamed till no air was left then she inhaled full lungs and screamed again while staring at the monster.

Finally, heavily breathing, no matter what they were saying all she answered was "Eat the kid, his flesh is softer and fresher, mine's full of sand and is bad really bad! I won't tell anyone just..."

Kidds luck seemed to be getting worse, not only did he now find the fish lady he had hopped to find, he had bumped his head and was getting scolded and sacrificed.

The creature that held his spear was scolding him, and threatening to call the knights on him for a spear; that was his. He knew he was young but he was no kidd. He stood up looking the creature in the eyes and said stubbornly "Thats my spear and I want it back!" He reached out to swipe it from her hands only to be interrupted by the other lady now screaming and her telling the creature to eat him. He couldn't believe his ears, this strange lady was saying he was fresh and soft. How would she know what he tasted like, was she a cannibal.

Kidd pointed at the strange lady that decided to sacrifice him.

"How do you know what humans taste like!! your the monster!! people eater!!"

Kidd drew his scimitar and pointed the blade at the woman and was looking around. Man there wasn't a knight in sight when you needed one, well he figured he would have to take this cannibal in himself.

"Come with me man eater!! you must pay for your crimes!"

Kidd had turned a misunderstanding into a problem. He wasn't sure what was really going on, and had only heard part of what the woman had said to the monster, but it had seemed like she was telling her how human flesh taste. He had no desire to be eaten. He just wanted to see a fish lady.oocSorry for the short post, my minds been all over the place. Going through some things at home. What the pebbles was even going on?! The moment M'wanii had finished lecturing the small land dweller, the woman had suddenly began yelling in common at her. The vast majority of words were lost to the amphibian due to the haste at which they were spoken, but from what she could tell was that the woman wanted her to eat the child. What the bubbles was wrong with these land dwellers? Was it normal to scream at outsiders to eat their fellow kin? Such strange people.

While the charoda's only reaction was to look bewildered at the lady, the hatchling seemed to panic at the woman's words screaming at her in Common as well. It was when he drew the sword, still screaming, and pointed it at the dark eyes female that the amphibian just gave up trying to understand what was going on. Letting the spear fall from her hand onto the wooden dock with a loud sound, she stood there mouth a jar eyebrow raised, turning first to look at the child then at the woman then back to the child again.

Clearing her throat she finally addressed the duo.

“Be this what land dwellers do?”

She slouched slightly leaning back on her left leg, crossing her arms still looking disapprovingly confused at land dwellers before her.

“Scream to people so they eat other people? Point Weapon about? Give weapon to Hatchling?”

With the last point she unknotted an arm and waved at the spear and blade now being wielded by the child.

“Land dwellers be strange in their ways.”
