20th of Winter 513 AV

It had been a few days since her last project and she couldn't help but feel exceptionally excited about her accomplishment in dra kalinor. The isurian crafter always felt happiest when meddling with magic, however there wasn't much more for her to do but wait until the next commission to begin.

Often times when left to her own devices, she started to play around with darker things. Everyone had secrets, Malediction was hers. She did no advertise her association with the taboo art, but she certainly was particularly gifted fringing upon newer formulas and sentient corpses.

She enjoyed creating things, it was a personal vice that made her; her.

Sahana was preparing now getting ready to travel out to the bronze woods in search of ingredients and reagents although she certainly didn't think she would stumble upon anything particularly valuable she was happy just to leave the apartment.

Something about it being so empty cast a shadow of oppression that overwhelmed the mood of the room.

Winter, cold and unforgiving, forcing some plant life to succumb to its freezing touch and animals to hibernate, yet the falling snowflakes held beauty of their own. In the season where Morwen wandered Mizahar, Syliras turned from being a rather comfortable stone fortress in Fall to an ice coffin, making its citizens huddled up in their apartments, whether its their workplace of their homes.

Yet, even in Winter, some individuals still wished to venture outside, seeking for rare winter herbs and flowers. One of these individuals is Sil'ria, Healer and Priestess of Rak'keli. The Konti woman was preparing for a short trek into the Bronze Woods, but she was in short of travelling partners, though she could defend herself if needed, the Konti wasn't exactly suited for combat. Her friend, the Dire Wolf Kelvic, Ama, usually accompanied her, but the Kelvic was rather busy with some business in the Woods. She had to find another partner.

And so, Sil'ria's eyes darted around as she stood near the main gates, that was when her gaze found an Isurian woman, pale-skinned with mesmerizing blue and silvery veins beneath, short pitch black hair, and a pair of vivid green eyes. Her signature Izentor arm was in the color of violet, the Isur was about the shame height as Sil, but clearly, she looked far superior in terms of muscle mass. She would be a perfect travelling partner, perhaps doubling as a bodyguard.

Nodding to herself, Sil'ria approached the female Isur, "Excuse me, Madame, I am Sil'ria, I see you are heading to the Bronze Woods, may I come with you? You see, I want to gather some Parsley herbs and uh... my usual travelling partner is unavailable so..." The Konti gazed at the Isur with lively eyes, expressing her cheerful and gentle nature, "What do you say?".

Looks were often deceiving, it was true the cascading tapestry of snow held beauty but it was also dangerous. The frigid cold and biting wind made numb exposed skin, the elements of nature were often unforgiving to the unwary.

She herself fell into the same category perhaps the least prepared of all, deceptively looked like a powerful warrior. Her violet arm would have indicated anything but, she was of the Terras clan arguably the finest crafters in all of sultros. As an isurian woman her right arm was gifted, allowing use of izentor in ways that gave her finer control over her racial boon. A superior crafter that bent magic to her whim, but aside from this the world mage was far from perfect.

When the woman approached her it was a tidal wave of words, many were lost on her. Emerald eyes widened in surprise as she was caught off guard, before they sank back into an inquisitive gaze, the gentle pools of light green danced upon her visage as if appraising value or maybe attempting to guess her intent.

She would first attempt to speak to her as if addressing a mage, nader canoch was universal among the magically gifted perhaps it would work in this pinch.

How can I help you?

The phrase ushered from her lips came out as eerie, like she spoke in magic. The ancient dialect proceeded herself, when she left sultros she was accustomed to working with mages.

Common tongue was for common people, commoners could not craft or enhance craft with magic it was an underlining prejudice a principal point in her logic often viewed with callous as elitism.

But that was how the Terra's viewed themselves, the very best and the very best only work with those that could help them achieve a means to an end

She got a jist of what the woman wanted, but clarification on an easier language was what she sought. If not she would pry her journal out and attempt common with this one.

An heir of caution was a necessary precaution, within the domain of Syliras she was safe, but anything could happen outside those walls

Sil'ria smiled politely at the female Isur, her right hand holding a wicker basket for carrying gathered herbs, she attempted to hide her confusion, she had no knowledge of the Isur's foreign tongue, "I'm sorry, Madame, but... I'm afraid I only speak Common and my native tongue, Kontinese". Even though she didn't understand the Isur's language, she had to admit its strange beauty, it held the image of an ancient civilization.

Sil paused for a few ticks, reassessing her words, maybe this Isur wasn't versed in Common, she needed to simplify her words without sounding stupid, "I am Sil'ria," The Konti gestured to herself, "Are you travelling? May I go with you?" With each words, she accentuated them with gestures, finally, Konti politely gestured to the Isur's chest, where her heart should be, "Your name?"

As the young woman spoke a little more slowly, the Isur bobbed her head and closed her eyes gently as she slowly processed her words. It was a time consuming process lethargic even at her greatest of comprehension. Until finally the world mage opened her eyes and spoke common in return.

Us may travel

The next word seemed to be jarbled, like the word was trying to roll off her tongue but wouldn't be allowed. That word parcely, seemed to give the woman a formidable verbal challenge.

Parcels

As her hand gestured too her chest, she asked a name her name.

Sahana is this

Forger of Djed

She was a foreigner hailing from sultros, gifted in skill to work with mages. It would seem that while although she could speak common, it cast an unwanted shadow upon her that made her seem like a slow witted barbarian.

The Isur was happy to assist, although her skills did not stack up to having martial prowess. Her last statement was to try and communicate this, that she was a mage crafter.

"Uh..." The Isur's incompetency in Common was worse than Sil thought, the Priestess scratched the back of her head in confusion, her eyes looked around Sahana as if asking for help, to see if another Isur was nearby, but unfortunately, there was none in the immediate vicinity. She still managed to form a couple of coherent words in Common though, "Okay..." The female Isur accepted her offer, it was a good start.

Sil'ria crossed her arms under her chest, not in arrogance, but in contemplation, she couldn't gather much from just one word, 'parcels', what did it mean? The Konti pondered for a few ticks, looking at the Isur's form up and down, but trying her best not to look impolite, then she came to an assumption, the Isur was most likely looking for objects outside of Syliras, whatever they were, "Are you gathering?" The Konti made gestures as if she was foraging, "Gather what?"

So her name was 'Sahana' and her title... or was it occupation, was 'Forger of Djed', Sil'ria immediately assumed Sahan was an arcane blacksmith, much like Eanos, the resident Isurian master blacksmith who owned the Sultros Blades, their people were known for forging wondrous items after all. "Ah, Sahana, blacksmith?" Sil made a gesture of the famous hammer-pounding movement of blacksmiths, "Do you know Eanos? Isur, like you, owner of Sultros Blades," from what she heard, Isurs knew each other well.

All Isurs looked strong and muscled, bodies fit for warriors, but Sil realized something, if Sahana was a blacksmith, that didn't mean she was a warrior, a forger of swords didn't mean one was a swordsman, "Can you... fight? Guard?" Sil needed to make sure, she was unwilling to venture out with someone who didn't even know basic self-defense.

When asked if gathering the Isur nodded yes to the question, although the konti hid it well she could already sense some friction. The language barrier that existed created a conversational divide. And while she seemed well, it was looking more and more that she may have to rough it on her own.

She would reply

Yes

To her next question, she was out to gather items and reagents the fact that she was out primarily for bones however she would keep a tight lip about. People tended to mistrust malediction, something as taboo as working on the dead to create items of power often left people with a bad first impression. In fact the Isur was unclear of the severity of punishment in Syliras for delving into what most viewed as evil black magic. Often what was misunderstood was feared and branded as dark arts, herecy and when that happened the practitioner often found themselves hanging around the gallows.

Reagents was her reply

Her head nodded slowly in rhythmic fashion, and she smiled

Yes, blades from sultros superior
This Eanos, I no, know.

It seemed as if the last question was judging her morals, could she fight? The truth was that she could not, the woman was nice but it was evident that she was realizing the Isur was a smith. Honesty was more important, there was always that what if. What if something went wrong and she needed to back up the claim? She didn't want to be responsible or held accountable if harm or worse befell them.

She shook her head no at the last question.

So Sahana and Eanos didn't know each other, this made it harder, but she did know about his workshop, well, it was rather famous, being the one which sold some of the finest blades in Syliras. The Priestess nodded, keeping up her polite smile, "You should get to know each other, you both are kin after all," Furthermore, she and Eanos could work together as fellow blacksmiths and language barrier wouldn't be a problem.

"I see, for crafting, I assume," Sahana was a blacksmith, an arcane blacksmith to be more precise, Sil assumed she required materials not commonly used in mundane forging. Sil gave a small sigh, talking with broken Common was tiring, even for a non-native speaker such as her. "If I may suggest, Common goes a long way in Syliras, it's the primary tongue here," she didn't want to start lecturing someone she had just met, but learning Common would greatly help Sahana.

The female Isur confirmed she was not a warrior, she was a craftswoman, Sil gave her a silent smile, her face apologizing for assuming Sahana's expertise, she felt awful for judging someone based on their physical looks alone, a muscled man might not know how to fight, a small girl might turn out to be a master martial artist, "I understand, let's look for someone else, if you want to come with me," she gestured for Sahana to follow her, her very light green eyes searching for another companion.

Finally, she spotted a male human with leather armor, robe, bow, and quiever filled with arrows, he looked like a hunter, he was heading outside. Sil'ria approached the man, greeting at him, "Excuse me, Sir, I'm Sil'ria".

The black-haired hunter, with brown eyes, turned his head and suddenly smiled warmly as if he knew the Konti, he did actually, Sil'ria was a famous healer in Syliras and being a hunter, he often needed healing services to relieve his muscle tensions and wound from venturing outside, "Ah, Lady Sil, an honor to see you, name's Dans, you healed me once".

Sil paused for a few ticks, recalling her memories, then she cheerfully perked up, "Ah, I remember! Dans, how are you doing? You see, if you are going out, may I ask for your companionship? I wish to gather some herbs and uh... I need someone who can shield us from dangers." She explained her purpose.

Dans was more than willing to accept, he owed the Konti and frankly, helping someone such as Sil was an honor, "Of course, Milady, I'm just heading out, hunting for some extra mizas, it's Winter, but that doesn't mean I have to sit around all day."

"Wonderful! It's decided then," The Konti turned her head back to the female Isur, "Sahana, are you coming with us?"
