Built into the cliffs overlooking the Suvan Sea, Riverfall resides on the edge of grasslands of Cyphrus where the Bluevein River plunges off the plain and cascades down to the inland sea below. Home of the Akalak, Riverfall is a self-supporting city populated by devoted warriors. [Riverfall Codex]

Orabelle smiled."That's kind of what I was hoping for." She told him. Her long body was at least good for something. The figure her father had given her was now good for something. She could put it towards her training and wouldn't feel uncomfortable at all. Maybe this task wouldn't be so hard. If she used her flexibility, this will all slide by. So far, Vanator has been a great teacher. He wasn't an expert in unarmed combat but he still managed to teach Orabelle what he already knew. Which seemed like a lot more then what she knew.

Orabelle was nervous. She had enough strength in both her arms to give Vanator a good one." Directly at you, or in a slow motion?" She asked not really sure which he wanted. He was large and very powerful, she assumed he meant directly. He wanted her fist full on towards his face. For a moment she was, messing with her necklace as she waited for a response.

"I've never actually hit someone." She started to awkwardly laugh. The last person she hit was her sister but it was not a full hit. Not a fist but a feminine smack across the face."I believe I am capable of this." She said in a soft tone. She had to remind herself what she is able to do.

Orabelle seemed to hesitate when Vanator asked for her to throw a punch at him. He paused, looking at the young woman. Her posture was unsure, her eyes furtive, her voice small. She was too timid. Had she been a man, he might have gone at her, pushed her around, taunting her until she had had enough and fought back. Sometimes people had to get mad enough to recognize the fight within them. Vanator did not know Orabelle, and she was so....feminine, that any such attempt to push her to fight would be seen as bullying and do more damage than good. But he wanted her to get that fight, better here than get attacked out there and not have the guts to fight back.

He met the exotic woman's eyes. "Orabelle. There is more to fighting than, well, learning to throw and dodge attacks. More important than that is your attitude. If you don't feel confident, if you don't have it in your mind that you have to take this person down to save your life, you will lose, no matter how well you know how to hit. Do you understand? You need to find that inner warrior. You have it, we all do, its what kicks in when we find a need to survive." Her reached over and tapped her on the chest.

"Now, I want you to hit me, directly, and in the face. No holding back. I want you to picture me as that person that irritated you, picked on you, did you wrong, when you swing at me, you are swinging at them. Got it?"

She was very surprised. The blonde, drykas man did not give up on her. Instead, he continued to move forward, informing her on how to throw a punch, and she like that. Vanator didn't -- at least not at this point -- give up on her. Orabelle couldn't help but like him even more because of it. He was truly a great man and she did not think a lot of humans were truly great due to the fact she did not find find human men attractive and could careless for them although she is part Svefran.

The room grew quiet, less body slamming and grunting noises. A few people took interest in Orabelle and Vanator's training. It had nothing to do with neithers appearance. They just wondered how Vanator even had the patience.

"She's nothing more than a housewife." An akalak ma whispered to what was once his opponent.

Good thing Orabelle did not hear it. She's been keeping her distance away from the title wife, and that would probably offend her the most. Besides, she felt she could accomplish this."I understand. I have to find the warrior underneath all this. Ya know, this is ny first fight. No one has ever challenged me..."

"Got it." She grumbled. Instantly she knew who she wanted to hit. Her sister Brianne. The bitch had to be the worse sister ever. She envisioned Brianne and didn't even hesitate to ball her fist and aim at Vanator's face.

As Vanator worked with Orabelle, he noticed the glances, the shared whispers and unkind laughing. Though his Tukant was terrible, he guessed the few comments he did hear were not good natured. That only steeled the Drykas resolve to make this pretty young woman into a fighter. Every woman, he believed, had a fighter deep within them. Kavala did, one he did not see much growing up, but as an adult, life had dragged the fighter to the surface.

Granted, the girl did not look so intimidating standing in front of him, appearing all the fashionista even in her sparring clothes. She was fully and unmistakeably feminine, and Vanator appreciated that. But she was not intimidating. But when Ora found that face, the one she wanted to punch, whomever it was, The Drykas saw a hint of fire in her bright eyes, the set of her jaw revealing a determination.

And strike she did. Her small fist shot out, driven by a lean arm and her long coiled torso, fueld by that anger the exotic woman had mustered. In fact, Van was not expecting it, his eyes having darted to a couple Akalak who were starting to make comments. Ora's solid knuckles caught Van as he tried a last minute juke, smashing into his nose. His head snapped back and his eyes started to water. A loud 'ooooooooh!'sounded out from those that had stopped to watch. Vanator recovered, looked up at the tall girl through watering eyes, and laughed out loud. He reached out and gently clapped a hand on her shoulder, then wiped at the blood running from his nose.

"I think we have found the warrior!" He laughed again, several of the students nearby applauding Orabelle's well aimed punch.

There was a sort of panick going through her as she striked the large man. Orabelle hadn't expected him to take the hit, she thought he would somehow block it. She had threw her fist as hard as she could think he would catch it and tell her how he did. She got a pretty good shot, and would be pretty proud of herself of his nose didn't start spewing blood. Was it really that hard of a hit? After such a hit, Vanator laughed, and it help the young woman with the panick she was feeling.

She felt a little embarassed when people began to applaud. She had no idea anyone was even watching. Orabelle nodded.before she looked around for some sort of cloth for Vanator's nose. It was like someone was reading her mind because a human male held out one, staring at her. She quickly grabbed it." Thank you." She said to him before handing it to Vanator.

"Sorry." She whispered to him.

Van laughed, holding his head back and pinching his bleeding nose. There were still a few hoots and hollars as the other students went back to their practice, joking about the skinny girl who decked the Denusk Drykas. Vanator was sure the tale would grow, and by the time he got back to Sanctuary, the story would have Orabelle knocking him unconscious and hogtying him. Sucking up his pride, Van took the cloth Orabelle offered and wiped away the blood.

"Well, you have a nice jab Ora," Van continued to blot his nose, "That is the idea, quick, sharp and well aimed." He could see the embarrassement in the young woman's eyes. "Don't feel bad, you did exactly what I wanted you to do, quite well in fact. Not sure who you were imagining when you threw that punch, but I would not want to be them!"

Once the flow of blood was staunched, Van set aside the bloody rag, and turned again to Orabelle. "How did it feel? Did you feel enpowered, strong? That is the beginning of your ability to defend yourself, to deny someone the chance to harm you. To stand for up for yourself. No one has the right to touch or harm you unless you say so." Unfortunately, it was not always that way in Riverfall. Then Nakivak system at times did take from a woman the right to decide what to do with her life and her body, like they had with his sister. Van paused for a moment, soured by the thought before the lovely features of his opponent drew him from his thoughts.

She had a lot of pride now. More then a girl who barely has experience should have. Vanator truly made her happy and had given her so much confidence. Yet, she was kind of doubting that she had hit him so hard. His nose was bleeding, that was very plain to see, but still she felt like she had done nothing. Orabelle tried to forget what she thought was a negative thought and bask in the limelight that had began to shine on her the minute Vanator started to bleed. Yes, it sounded pretty selfish. But how many times can the small woman in size say that she almost took out a very large man with one hook?

Orabelle could truly thank the Denusk for his time and effort. Learning besides him was quite an honor. It was a better then working with her niece, Chy'lah, who is already skilled in almost all fields of fighting.

"Thank you." She began blushing uncontrollably."I hope to do better the next time I come around here." This would not be the last time she step foot in the Tuvya Sasaran. Orabelle truly enjoyed her time, and could see herself coming back to train, hopefully besides someone like Vanator."I was imagining a childhood enemy." She laughed."Someone I wish to hit a million times harder." Now, she was laughing herself. She didn't really wish to hurt her sister, just knock the obnoxious woman hard, hard enough to gain common sense.

"To be honest... good." She slowly nodded."Strong? I felt powerful! Like Laviku had given me just some of his power that very moment... it's sounds silly, I know. I guess you can say I really loved it." Orabelle watched his nose bleed." Try tilting your head forward. We use to get nose bleeds on the ship a lot. The lia use to make people put their head down so they could- I don't know, I guess bleed out?"

[Tuvya Sasaran] Playing with the big boys (Vanator)

Vanator looked at Orabelle from the corner of his eye as he held his head back, pinching off his bleeding nose. The Drykas saw the pride in the woman's bright eyes, Her tall, lean form standing with more confidence and less of the feminine timidity she had when the first met.
Sometimes it just took someone a chance to know what it feels like, to face off with someone and throw a meaningful punch, for them to find that confidence.

Van's compliments drew the girl back to herself it seemed, her mocha cheeks darkening with a blush. He laughed as she joked about wanting to hit her sister. "Its too bad you didn't get a chance to slug her at least once," he teased, "my sister Akela was a fighter, I got to hit her a lot, but she hit back!" Van released his nose, returning his head to level at Orabelle. The flow of blood seemed to have staunched, but there remained drying stains around his nostrils and on his fingers.

"Good, I am glad you felt something Orabelle, you said that it felt like a god gave you what you needed for a moment. That very well may be true, but your own body does the same, your instincts to survive, if you let them. I hope you do continue to train, and maybe find someone more skilled than I to teach you." A grin stretched across his face. The woman was an interesting one, not only for her attractive exotic features and tall lean form, but her origins. Her comments indicated she was a Svefra, though her features seemed more suited for the deserts of Eyktol.

"It has been a distinct pleasure to be slugged in the nose by you, Orabelle," he teased, "but seriously, I enjoyed meeting you. I hope our paths meet again, or maybe yours will find its way to the Sanctuary to visit us."

Everyone went back to doing what they day before. Fist cutting through the air, small grunting noises, and the smell of sweat and pain were all included in the Tuvya Sasaran. She didn't think she would bother Vanator, and ask for one more small lesson. He should really get home and rest. If she hit him as hard as,he claimed, he would soon start to get a headache. Kavala could probably get rid of it in no time. The first time she met the lovely woman, she was caring for achild and healing a horse's broken leg. The konti was talented.

"If I could slug her," her fratavan accent made it a little hard to pronounce slug right, it sounded like slig,"I'd do it more then once." She continued laughing before taking a seat on the spongy mat."Akela? She sounds kind of fearless. You're a rather large man! But she took a chance hitting you back. She must've been really brave."

"Oh, I will continue to train. There is no way I will remain a damsel in distress. You just watch, Vantor, I'll be just as strong as you or any other man." It sounded like a promise she couldn't really keep and once she realized it, she changed her wording."Well, I'll try. I've kind of adapted to this scene and believe I can handle it." She returned the grin, finding herself liking Vanator more and more. He was polite and respectful, and attractive. Here in Riverfall, he could outshine the akalaks and make them envious.

Orabelle rolled her eyes playfully and shook her head."Whatever." She joked."I hope to meet again too. Hopefully I'll be drawn to the Sanctuary a little more often. I love talking to Kavala and you. I also love animals."

Van watched as the exotic woman folded her long coltish legs and settled onto the floor. Orabelle still seemed out of place amid the fighting around her, beautiful enough to model elegant garments, and down to earth enough to spar with a Drykas. But she earned some respect in the end. "I am glad to hear you speak like that, Orabelle. You are a lovely woman with a lot of potential. I imagine you will garner quite a bit of attention from the men of Rivefall, if you haven't already! Don't let any of them treat you with disrespect."

"I do hope you come to visit us at Riverfall, you are always welcomed there. Maybe I can show you how to swing a weapon or two, make a real warrior out of you!"
He joked. Vanator did indeed hope their paths would cross again, perhaps in a less martial environment where one of them doesn't walk away bloody.

Vanator smiled, the pain in his face a minor annoyance and beginning to fade. Orabelle was more than just a pretty face, and the Drykas was grateful for the opportunity to meet her, and maybe even help her a bit. He held out his hand to help her up, or at least to press a kiss to the back of her hand, like he had seen men from the North do. "It has been my pleasure, Ms. Deepseeker." Vanator intoned with a wry grin.
