Much had transpired while Vanator, Kavala and Caelum were in Endrykas, events that had significance to both them as individuals, and to everyone at the Sanctuary. These things laid upon Vanator's mind on the trip back from the Pavilion City, and the impact they would have on them all. But beneath it all, from the time they had ridden from home, while in Endrykas, and to their arrival at the Horse Gate, something tugged at the Drykas, an undercurrent that would surface with every thought of the newest Kelvic to arrive at the Sanctuary. Reven Heath.

From their first encounter mid-winter, a chord had resonated between them. Vanator had soon guessed at its source, though he was not convinced the cougar fully understood. Even for him, it was tangled with the more common attraction between a man and woman, or in this case, a man and a large feline predator who took the form of a young woman. A Kelvic bond was trying desperately to draw them together.

Vanator was not ready for such a commitment, having just been practically left at the altar. He knew enough that if he could avoid Reven, the bond could be resisted. But then she moved into the Sanctuary. Van felt bad, guilty even, for keeping his distance from Reven, especially when he engaged so readily with the other residents. But it would not be fair to himself or the Kelvic if he entered a bond without being ready. He was sure Kavala suspected something, knowing how Reven felt about her brother, and how her brother had no reason to rebuff the attractive and friendly young Kelvic. The trip to Endrykas was a welcomed break from the persistent preoccupation with the cougar girl.

But on the way home, Vanator had made a decision. He had to face Reven. They could not go on living in the same place in a stalemate. He hated feeling like he could not get close to her. Even though she was Kelvic, and he was vastly older than she, the fact was Vanator was very fond of her even without the constant tug of the waiting bond. He was sure Reven did not fully understand it. Maybe if he talked to her, explained it, she would understand why he had been so standoffish to her when it was clear they had something.

The Drykas could not wait, and the evening of the same day they returned from Endrykas, Vanator sought Reven. He had cleaned up, bathing away the dirt of the journey, slipping into a simple sleeveless brown tunic and a comfortable pair of dark cotton pants. Reven had not been tied to the Sanctuary web yet, so he could not rely on the network to locate the Kelvic. Van quizzed Elise, Larik and finally Cadra before he learned that Reven had gone to her quarters. It was getting late, and he hoped she had not decided to turn in early.

Approaching her room, Van rapped lightly on her door. "Reven, its Vanator. Um, do you have a moment?"

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

Reven did not sleep well the night before and so, the morning had taken its toll on the young Kelvic as she assisted the staff in preparing for the arrival of Kavala, Caelum, and Vanator. Over the past several days, her thoughts had been running amok and her anxiety had skyrocketed to the point that Reven searched desperately for things to distract her. Even going as far as picking up the journal she discovered yesterday, with insidious information she'd rather not glance upon again... When it came down to the very roots of her stress, Reven aimed it at Vanator's return.

The past week, or maybe it had been the past several weeks, the Kelvic tried to curve, if not exterminate her fascination for the man and chalked it up to an embarrassing, mild obsession she couldn't shake. It was very strange of her to be this way, act this way, feel this way about another individual. She compared it to other moments of time she had been close to other people and noticed they did not bring about the same emotions. Thinking back on it, Reven wondered if that was one of the driving causes for her sudden move into the facility. To be closer to him. What they had experienced out in the Fringe Forest, Reven craved. The Kelvic wanted to delve deeper into the emotions the Drykas sparked within her and eagerly met with him when she could just to do so. Very slowly and quite obviously, Vanator began to pull away from her. Reven thought attending the ball would renew some form of closeness between the two but she was wrong.

Days later, he left on his trip to Endrykas with the others without giving her a simple farewell. It was more than enough for the Kelvic to realize he didn't want a friendship with her and she berated herself time and time again for driving him away with her presence. Reven blamed herself for his actions toward her, or lack thereof. It wasn't hard to notice his fair, caring behavior when interacting with the other staff members but when it came to her...

The week had been an adventurous one. Reven decided to look for a job in hopes of spending less time at the Sanctuary and therefore, less time around Vanator. The Kelvic even allowed her caretaker to drag her to yet another social event where Reven hoped to have the same emotions renewed from someone else. Through this time, she couldn't stray from the slight depression that had fallen onto her shoulders over the Ankal. Living at the Sanctuary had only amplified the her feelings for him and, if he had not ventured out for trade that week, Reven would have worked up the courage to confront him. Now, after his departure, she had done everything in her power to rid herself of the emotional baggage. Needless to say, it was all for not and knowing that he was returning today spurred up everything she'd forced down, like a typhoon decimating her defenses.

Reven worked away with the staff and when the first chime came of the group's return, quietly slipped away to her room. The burden of her heart was great. She didn't understand it but knew it was not something she wanted to confront Vanator with, or Kavala for that matter. Not when they had just arrived. With the door locked, she plopped down onto her furs and did what she normally would in situations like this: handled leather. Her room had turned from a nice, guest room to something of a huntress's lair. The floor was covered with books, some opened, most closed, others looking fresh and new while many appeared old, dusty, and falling apart. There were patterns for designs on the floor, sheets of paper and pencils. Most of all, there was leather everywhere. Furs covered most of her bed while scraps of leather, hide, stretched leather, and dyed leather covered the floors, hanging off of her bed, and some ever strung up onto the wall. Reven had made her room into her den, safe and comfortable.

No one visited her quarters except for Kavala and maybe Cadra, at times. Therefore she had no reason to keep it presentable. Working to stitch wax thread into the leather, Reven was pulled away from her task when she heard a knock on the door. Unconsciously, the cougar was already rising to get the door, thinking it was Kavala coming to greet her. Her feet froze to their spot on the floor when she heard Vanator's familiar voice. Reven felt her breath catch, pausing with surprise. Why was he here?

The Kelvic was tempted to ignore him, hoping he would go away if he simply thought she wasn't there. Understanding it was immature to think like that, Reven took a long moment to compose herself. A whirlpool of emotion thrashed inside her ranging from anger, guilt, sadness, to happiness, excitement, and relief. He was the cause of her distraught and the feline had every intention of making him aware of it. Did he know?

Barefoot, she padded over to the door, unlocked it, and cracked it open just enough to stick her face through. Reven said nothing at first, her expression reflected her discontent but upon meeting his gold flecked eyes, it completely changed. "Oh, Vanator," Reven greeted, opening the door. "Welcome back. I'm sorry I wasn't there to greet you with the others. Working leather can be time consuming." Giving him a weary smile, she leaned her form against the frame of her door, hoping he wouldn't notice the lie. "How was the trip..? Is there something I can help you with?"

Now that he was standing in front of her, the two closer to each other than they had been in the past month, it was as if her anxiety was slowly dissipating. The same pleasant feelings that had been consciously shoved away were also fluttering to life once more. Reven wondered why he was outside her door but hoped he wouldn't leave so soon. She needed to talk to him... With a shaky breath, Reven straighten her figure. "I, um... I was hoping to talk to you, if you had the time?.. Do you want to come in..?" Gesturing to her cluttered room, Reven stepped back, offering him entrance, should he take it. "Sorry for the mess," She would say with a nervous chuckle. "I wasn't expecting anyone to visit..."

Her own form was clad in mostly leather. Reven wore brown pants worn with age, that was more than loose around her hips. The only things keeping the cloth up was a simple belt she constructed and a strap she made for her hunting knife that was fitted comfortably around her upper, right thigh. Her torso donned only a leather vest, brown, sleeveless, and cut in a way to accent the curve of her waist. Surprisingly, her clothes were decently kept, with only a few stains and tears. The brown of the leather complimented her skin as it appeared tanner than the last time the Drykas looked upon her. Her brown hair was also hanging over her shoulders and down her back, a rarity from the usual tight bun she kept it restrained in. Her appearance looked relaxed, inviting, yet her eyes told a different story. Bright hazel shined against the complexion of her skin, looking sharp and wild, showing the emotion that was slowly bubbling up within her. There was intent in her gaze, one that sought answers and that no matter what happened, Reven would get those answers.

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

Vanator waited in the empty hall. The stalwart Ankal found himself more like a whelp waiting for a young crush to answer the door. There was a flutter in his stomach, the almost scintillating sensation inspired by the Kelvic, the one he had avoided for so long, now humming even without seeing her. The rattle of the handle and the creak of the door coaxed Van to stand taller as Reven's face appeared. The tug of the bond spiked at the sight of her, even if she did not seem excited to see him. It was a guarded greeting Van received from the cougar, the portal cracked only enough for her to peer through, her lovely features weary and politely dishonest. Vanator knew why she didn't come to see them arrive, he had given her no reason to believe he wanted Reven around. The thought rent him with guilt. She had not deserved his distance, at least not without explanation.

The Drykas had no interest in retelling the events in Endrykas anymore than the girl really wanted to hear them. The veteran horselord suddenly found it difficult to proceed, but he had to, things had to be cleared up. Before carefully spun words could tumble from pensive lips, Reven spoke. Her own tone betrayed a nervous intent as she took the words from his mouth. "Well, yes, I actually...yes I would like to come in, I think we need to talk too." Van offered a small smile, stepping into Reven's room once the door opened wider. It was much smaller than Van's suite, but Kavala had made all the quarters spacious and beautiful. It appeared Reven and turned her room into a workshop as well, the material and tools of her trade scattered about, his eyes avoiding the Kelvic for as long as he could stand, then his gold-flecked gaze turned to Reven.

She was stunning. Not in the way the Riverian's liked, daity Konti and human women, fancy clothes, soft skin and skinny with no muscle. They seemed frail. Reven was much more to the Drykas liking. Clad in leather, knife at her hip, Reven's rough garb complimented her lithe form. The cougar was anything but frail. The Kelvic was petite, but the vest and pants did not conceal the definition of lean muscle in her limbs, the gentle curves of early womanhood, her skin kissed by the sun, adorned with scars that prove she was a woman worthy of life outside of pampering walls. Her mane was left loose, a silken cascade over slim shoulders. And her eyes. In Reven's bright gaze was something Vanator had seen in no other woman. In Reven's gaze was the soul of a wild thing, a beast, a creature majestic and free and feral. It was that gaze that forced Vanator to hold his breath, that seized upon him such that his gut tightened and his heart thudded harder against his will. Van thought he could lose himself in the youthful well of that gaze. In those rich hazel eyes, the Drykas saw what he felt inside. The search for answers.

A plethora of words rushed to Vanator's tongue, wanting to spill forth. But he tempered himself. He reached out and took Reven's hand. Her hand was small and calloused, strong yet gentle. It was the first time he had touched her since the day they met. Vanator's eyes fixed on that brilliant gaze. "Reven, I, I think we both know what we need to talk about. I...I am so sorry about how I have treated you. Don't think for a moment that I haven't felt it, that thing between us. It was there everyday, and on some days I ached to draw just a little closer. But I couldn't, not then. Now, Now I think we need to talk about it. It may be more than you think it is."

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

His stance was tense despite the tall, forward demeanor he put forth as she invited him in. Reven could tell he was deep in thought by the pensive expression he wore upon entering her domain and for a moment, the Kelvic regretted letting him through the door. Truth be told, she was scared for what was to come, the conversation they would have, and if he was there to remove her from the place. Did she jeopardize her stay already? A tick went by as her memories flashed to the first day they met. Vanator had been careful with her, gentle, and at ease. He had smiled with her and laughed despite the odd topics brought up in conversation. He had brushed her with his skin, touched her, and with every caress he had sparked sensations she enjoyed but didn't understand. After that day, she had promised to return and when she had, it was as if he had become a changed man. Reven accepted it, adapt to his behavior, and assumed that he wasn't accustom to having the young woman around often, but she could tell as the days past that it was more than that. Every moment they met, when their gazes would lock and they’d take a brief pause to relish the beauty of the other, Reven knew. The Kelvic saw the same emotions within her reflected in his golden eyes. Each time, it was harder to pull her eyes away from him. To Reven, he was like Syna’s radiant light decorating the sky before pulling up over the horizon.

He took her breath away.

But she noticed quickly that he was nearly ripping his eyes away from her, ignoring her as if she was a ghost, avoiding her like she was some sickness. At first, the feline thought he was busy with work, or maybe he didn't notice her, but over time it was an obvious shot to her heart when she realized he wanted nothing to do with her. Rejection was something the Kelvic went through on a weekly basis and built defenses against such emotions roused from the act. This was different, however, and it cut her. Not deeply, but enough that anyone would notice the dejected look on her face at the mention of his name. Being close to him was daunting due to his behavior, but it was also another opportunity at a challenge Reven wouldn't let slip through her fingers. Vanator was too distracting, too fascination for the Kelvic to simply give up pursuit. That’s why even as he pushed away, she kept close, however she could, in the smallest ways she could. Even as emotionally complex as it was, the cougar wanted to know why he had changed, why he had ignored her, and if he felt the same way for her still. She needed the answers, otherwise the emptiness inside her would swallow her whole.

It was hard for her to stand there now, with him looking around at the clutter. Vanator didn't appear to mind the state of her area, maybe even appreciated it to some degree. It was as if he too was avoiding the subject they needed to discuss. Reven was watching his every move, even as his eyes glided slowly up her form to rest on her own baffling gaze. The connection was there once more, pulling her in, coaxing her closer. The cougar felt as if she was peering into the very heart of the man, guarded yet open, aware yet struggling to keep his focus, as if there was so much to say but he couldn't. It showed in his eyes and that was the key to bringing the Kelvic closer. Reven stepped to him as she felt his hand grasp hers, causing her eyes to glance down at the touch. It was as if liquid fire resonated into her arm, pleasantly heating her body as her own calloused fingers graced over his own. Holding his hand softly, then firmly, Reven spanned her fingers out to touch his wrist, gliding over bumps of scars that littered his skin. She didn't mind it and as he had told her before, each of them were victories of survival, triumph over death. The scars were proof of the man he was, strong, resilient, a fighter and a seeker for all things. She reflected those traits in the same way. It was probably why they had been so fond of each other in the beginning. Lifting hazel eyes back up to stare at him, Reven listened to Vanator’s words, resisting the urge to touch him any further.

“What do you mean?” The cougar inquired after a tick. “I… Uhh, I don’t even know where to start…”

Much to her dismay, she pulled her hand from his grasp, severing the intense connection through skin yet it remained even after Reven stepped away. She busied herself, moving books aside and tossing leather into a pile together, cleaning up her space as if that would disperse the mayhem inside her. “I… I wasn't looking for anything from you, Vanator, except a friendship. Your words are appreciated but, do you have any idea—“ Reven let out a breath, she couldn't let herself go, not with him. “I knew you felt it… No, I don’t understand what it is between us but I can’t let it go.” She nearly whispered.

Pausing, Reven turned toward the Drykas, pushing a hand into her hair with a soft sigh. “What’s happening here, Vanator? I don’t know what to think anymore… This has never happened and frankly, I'm having a hard time dealing with it. If you have the answer then please tell me, if it will mean a friendship with you and a rest to this… nonsense. I don’t want to feel like an outcast...” The cougar held his gaze, her eyes pleading just as much as her voice. In this moment, her ignorance exposed just how young she was, however, Reven wasn't a complete fool as to what was happening.

“Is this… Are we..?” She couldn't get the word out but it was an obvious question about the bond.

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

Postby Vanator on March 13th, 2014, 1:55 pm

The simple clasp of hands became a sudden conduit to all the denied contact. Reven's hands were calloused, the hands of a craftswoman worn with the working of fur and leather and life in the wild. but to Vanator the physical touch reached inside of him, as if straining to find a counterpart, to find completion. The Kelvic's hand deepened the grasp, slender fingers tracing small scars on his hand and wrist. the Drykas was confounded by the desire to lay hold of the reaching touch and cling to it. Her youthful gaze lifted again to him, clouded with confusion, and a bit of hurt. Reven's hand withdrew, and a light within Van seemed to dim again.

The girl busied herself, as if the mundane tasks would distract from the emotions rising, from the pain of addressing the days of Vanator's distance. The Drykas saw it in her demeanor, in the slight strain in her voice. Van reached towards a strip of leather hanging over the foot of her bed, feeling the texture between his thumb and forefinger, himself trying to deal with the guilt of denying Reven for so long.

Reven turned from her fiddling towards Van, and he turned towards her. Hazel met gilded brown as the two of them again fixed gazes. The Kelvic was frustrated, her words poignant. She wanted to know, as much as he did, what was going on. At that moment, with every nerve seeming to scintillate with her presence, Vanator knew they would not leave that room until they dealt with...it.

He wanted so much to reach out to her again. But Reven was near distraught, and Van was the source of her distress, he restrained himself. He needed to tell her first. "Reven, I don't think it is a simple answer." His gaze broke away, wandering for a tick around the cluttered room before settling again, glinting eyes now soft and open. "I believe it is the pulling of a bond. I know it, somewhat, I have felt the beginnings of it before, though I did not understand at that time. I don't know why a bond chooses who it does, if somehow that magic that created your ancestors can discern the right match. All I know is that my very core seems to reach out towards you."

The Drykas could no longer resist, and he reached out to brush a stray strand of hair from Reven's young face. The gesture felt...right. He sighed. There was more, but Van was not sure the Kelvic shared the other sentiments that seemed interwoven with the tug of the bond. "But, for me, it's not just a clinical attraction of some ancient magic."

He turned away, taking a step towards a table to idly turn the pages of some dusty old tome. Was this madness? Reven was nearly a child. She had reached physical maturity, but the girl had seen less than two winters. Like his own kelvic children, the cougar had lived what Van had experienced in almost the first two decades of his life, and in only two years. But the seasoned Drykas welled up with the desire to care for Reven, to be with her, to share himself with her. Van turned back to Reven, his eyes betraying his emotions, the attraction. He could not risk making this harder for her, so his words kept secret what his gaze could not.

“So it was a bond then... That caused this.” It was a matter of fact statement, something she had suspected long before their conversation.

Reven felt the revelation wash over her like cold, icy water. She had never been educated on the formation of bonds and thought for the longest time they were created through intercourse, but now it made sense to her that a higher form or some kind of power drove the workings of a bond. Needless to say, the cougar felt less inclined to approach him, thinking that what she felt for him was something more, something deeper. Was it simply the bond that caused these emotions inside her?

Eyes downcast, the Kelvic failed to notice his hand until the gentle, electric caress pulled her eyes to his once more and she was lost. It was so... difficult not to be drawn to him. Reven wanted to curse such a thing as a bond, but right now, all she wanted to do was wrap herself in his presence. It was noticeable, the way she leaned into his touch and made it obvious that she didn't want him to pull away. Not only that, but his words sparked pleasant confusion inside the woman. Did he admit, in some subtle way, that he felt the same for her as well?

He stepped away at the point, leaving Reven to feel like a burning flame rising up and he was the oil igniting her into an inferno. Vanator's back was to her, most likely trying to keep his own composure but it didn't help the Kelvic. He had sparked something that could only be extinguished one of two ways.

It was strong now, the tug for a bond, rising to near climax as her eyes stayed fixed on his frame. Reven wanted it, she craved for it, she could taste it as her entire being seemed to quake for it. The woman had never been so sure of something she knew so little of and the fears and anxiety she had experienced before were burning up in the flames of anticipation.

She needed to know though, Reven needed to be sure.

“Is this the reason you've avoided me?” Her voice was soft yet her words were firm. She needed an answer. “Vanator, I'm not blind to the events that have occurred within the past seasons... I hear the whispers from the Staff, even though I don't dabble in gossip. You've told me before of another, and when you think no one notices, I can see that it still affects you... How much, I don't know, but I can tell pain when I see it... Experiencing the loss of someone... Never knowing what could have been... I can understand why you pushed me away even as much as it hurt. I understand because those are things I live with as well.” The cougar approached him slowly, carefully, completely focused on her words. She watched him with steady eyes. Gone was the nervous, timid girl confronting her emotions. Reven's gaze was locked to his as he turned to meet her, the same attraction shinning off her predator eyes, confident and strong. “You've seen many more winters than I have and even if I don't know the ends and outs of the world, the terrors and dangers that lie ahead, I know my instincts and my heart are one of many truths I follow. They guide me, maybe not into the best situations but in the end, I'm okay. I'm content. I survive...”

“I say this to you, Vanator, because I want you to look at me... I am not some feeble girl that needs rescue... I'm capableof handling my own battles. You know this... and... as nerve racking as it is to think of having a deep connection with someone... Feeling exposed... I'm ready to take that on. Not as some naive child but as a woman having the courage to walk into the unknown. For months, I dreamed of the day I would experience my first bond. You cannot fathom how terrifying it is to realize some day, your freewill is going to be tapered, attached to that of another individual. I had nightmares...” Pausing, Reven took her eyes away from him for only a brief moment before looking back. “For the longest time, an emptiness has settled in me that I felt was eating away at my sanity until the day came that I stumbled into you. Words cannot express what I've gone through, because of your presence but... I... I need it... And maybe it is the bond that's causing this mess between us, but the moment I laid eyes on you, I couldn't look away.” Reven stood close to him, enough to feel his body heat radiating into her while her eyes held his, her heart beating fast. She would not let him look away, not anymore...

“If you wish to end this and deny me, I understand. Just know that from this moment on, things will never be the same between us when you walk out of that door tonight.”

The cougar stared at him, silence falling over the two as her words rang as loud as the electricity that seemed to pop through the atmosphere. Her cheeks were flushed yet her eyes were windows into her soul, pulling him in with a need that asked for connection, that pleaded for acceptance, that craved for establishment. Reven wanted the bond and, in her eyes he could plainly see, she wanted him.

Van sensed her drawing near, as one could feel the heat of an approaching torch. He turned again towards her. Reven's rich gaze lifted to Vanator, her eyes so much like the cougar's they seemed exotic, snaring the older man's soul. The brilliant orbs took on maturity, swelling with not only emotion, but a hidden strength. The Drykas let the soft lilt of the Kelvic's feminine voice bath his ears. Reven's words did not condemn him. They offered reprieve when they could have accused him of hardheartedness. Their gaze did not break, and as Reven made clear whom she was, not the small girl he saw with his natural eyes, but a woman and more. Indeed, Vanator heard it in the conviction of Reven's tone, the stark honesty as she poured her heart boldy to the man who had shunned her.

Vanator had forgotten. Reven Heath was not just the attractive young woman before him. She was the strong, majestic creature, the beautiful mountain lion. Her soul was the mystical mix of the noble beast and the young girl, and Reven Heath embodied the best of them both. To look upon her as just a girl would be doing her, and himself, an injustice. She was a unique and beautiful being.

As Reven spoke, Vanator's heart swelled, pounded, longed. She had opened herself and revealed herself to him, and it nearly undid the man. Only then did Van realize how close Reven stood to him, unsure if it was he or the Kelvic that had closed the distance. But as Reven pronounced her last statement, and silence fell over the room, Vanator's gaze did not waver from the hazel depth's of the cougar. It seemed an eternity. Van no longer 'thought', he did not analyze, speculate or categorize. As they stood, fixed upon one another, Vanator simply 'felt.' He felt the now incredible attraction to Reven. Yes, it was a bond calling them, but Vanator realized it was sheathed in something more. He wanted Reven, in everyway. Van knew beyond a doubt that he wanted to be with her, to share this magical connection that neither of them really understood.

Finally, his hands lifted, slowly, to cup gently her face between them. Reven possessed a beauty feral and wild, the kind that captured the hearts of men like Vanator, and he basked in it for a moment. The Drykas leaned in, eyes still set upon Reven's, until he was a breath away. Then gold-glinting eyes shifted to her plush mouth, and Vanator pressed a kiss to her lips. It lingered for a long moment before he pulled away, just a bit, their lips tugging apart as he withdrew. Van's eyes lifted again to Reven's.

"Reven, I want this. I want to be your bondmate."

She could see it in his eyes, feel it as the strings began to weave together their connection. It was as if their fates were combining, parallel to each other, like tendrils of acceptance starting to string together the two. The bond was not quite formed as she could only see it in his gaze, that he was steadily coming closer to her, allowing her in just as she wanted. Reven sucked in a breath while wave upon emotional wave crashed into her. Excitement, longing, need, anticipation, and thrill. It caused her body to buzz, leaning into him while he slowly reached down to her.

His hands, strong yet gently, approached to hold her face and Reven knew, in that moment, she could never look at another the same. For when he leaned down, she too was in awe of his beauty, his features, the curve of his jaw, the length of his lashes, his golden gaze, and then... his lips. So soft an accepting, Reven wanted to touch them for the longest time. It was a curiosity the woman thought of during her daydreams. Her thoughts flew away from her when he breath pushed against her lips, warm, inviting... Within moments, as his lips pressed to hers delicately, enticing the bond, Reven felt it form and everything change. The fire that raged inside her burned away the emptiness, filling her with a sense of completion that caused her to shiver. Some barriers she built up were suddenly demolished, leaving new room to grow and develop. The sensations invading her were alien and a part of her pushed them away, but while his lips lingered on her, she became relaxed, needy almost, and readily accepted them.

When he pulled away, even though he was still so close, Reven struggled to contain herself. Not realizing she closed her eyes, the Kelvic slowly opened her lids to peer at him.

It was his words that caused tears to pool in her eyes and a stray droplet to slip quickly down her cheek.

With her hands on his torso, his heart beating into her palm, Reven no longer felt the company of loneliness. She no longer felt the empty black hole that replaced her heart. Instead, it was replaced with warmth and a deep seated connection that hinted to other emotions. The cougar could feel him, not only through touch, or through his eyes, she could feel him within her very soul. As if both beings suddenly became aligned as one.

Her eyes studied his, perplexed by the sudden well of happiness bursting inside her and could not stop the smile that spread over her features after a tick. It was right. He was her home now. The Kelvic was beaming with relief and joy that she didn't stop herself from showing it. Reven was the one to initiate the kiss this time, however, it was not at gentle as her bondmate's. Grasping the back of his neck, she pulled him close once more, pouring her heart out, wanting to show him how thankful she was for him, how much she already cared for him. It didn't take long for those feelings to turn raw, almost passionate. The cougar lost herself for a moment, finding she had pushed him back into the wall and broke the kiss rather abruptly, trying to catch her breath. Kissing him was intoxicating, she needed to watch herself...

Pausing, Reven stared at him for a chime before uttering quite softly, “Thank you, Van.”

It was all she could say, her actions would reveal to him her true commitment from then on.

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

As if his words had turned a key in a lock, the essence of the bond, the emotions wrapped around it, the need that had stretched out towards Reven all this time between the bars of the cage Vanator created, cascaded from his soul. He felt Reven, her joy entwining with his until he was not sure who's was who's. Unspoken desires were revealed, inclinations that traveled along the bonding channels being forged between man and Kelvic. It was breathtaking, even startling, and to Vanator, it felt completely right.

His young Kelvic pulled him into another kiss, this one pouring the passion of the bonding into an oral embrace. Vanator welcomed it, returned it with ardor, his arms wrapping around the girl's slim torso, losing himself in the wave of awareness and affection that ebbed and flowed between them as that mystical connection bound Reven to Vanator. His nerves danced, his senses came alive with the pleasing scent of leather and musk and Reven's unique feral scents. The press of her lips heated his own, and he hungered to deepen the kiss. Before he knew it, the petite woman had him pressed against the wall.

Reven broke the fervent kiss, and both panted from the power of the moment. Van found himself leaning against the wall for support, trying to coral and seize upon the rampant emotion and instincts of his own and that which the bond fed him from his bondmate. A hand raised to brush his unruly locks from his face, finding stray strands of hair stuck to his face, a sheen of sweat appearing on his brow. When Reven looked up at him with a deep hazel gaze, uttered her softly toned gratitude, Van was nearly undone.

His hand lifted again to Reven's cheek, his thumb brushing over the full lips he had just kissed. Van's heart raced, pounded. He faltered for words, but his glinting gaze carried volumes. She was his, and he was hers, in a way neither of them had known, or understood. "I am sorry I made you wait, Reven. Had I known it would be...like this, I would have come to you long ago." Vanator had thrown caution, and maybe even wisdom, to the wind. He did not know what the bond would mean with all that was going on in their lives. The Cytali, the Shadow Road, danger would be all around them, and Reven would be drawn into it. but in that moment, as the Drykas fell into the youthful, passionate hazel wells of the cougar, he knew he could not deny the bond, or his affections for Reven. At that moment, all he wanted was her.

Vanator pulled Reven against him, embracing her tightly, burying his face in her silky mane. He did not want to let her go. He gave a small laugh, his smile irrepressible. "I wonder what Kavala is going to say." Van's head shifted, allowing him to press a kiss to Reven's cheek, then to the column of her neck. He could not resist her.

"I suppose we have some things to learn, and talk about."

[Sanctuary] Embracing the Inevitable (Reven)

Reven enjoyed the way Vanator kissed her.

Granted, she had never kissed another individual before and only did what her instincts guided her to do. The feeling of his lips locked with her's, their bodies pressed against each other as if their already close proximity wasn't enough, and the sound of their heated interaction aroused the Kelvic in a way that shocked her. It was the main reason the kiss had been broken so readily. The bond was confusing, mixing with both her emotions and his, all describing the want and need of the other in that moment. As she stared up at him with bright eyes, his touch magnified those emotions and she quickly shut her eyes to try and compose herself.

“All good things, in due time... From what I've read.” She breathed out against the finger that brushed her lips.

It was inescapable, the attraction through the bond and even as she tried to quench it, the bond pour into her emotions from Vanator. His want for her added to her need for him and if she didn't tether herself to a logical thought as to why they shouldn't embrace any longer, she would unravel the man. Reven wasn't use to these kind of emotions. They had laid dormant inside her tell the day came when she would bond. Now as they budded up, she didn't understand how to deal with them. All she knew was what her mind and her heart told her, both wrapped in every way around the man standing before her now.

Vanator brought her to him in a tight embrace, holding her close as if she was likely to slip from his arms. The feline basked in it, even circled her own arms around him to keep him there, her nose and lips caressing the skin of his neck lightly. The thought of him leaving was unacceptable, she couldn't imagine being away from him now. After what they've been through, and the bond, Reven needed him close. As close as they were now. Van's laugh tickled her ears and caused a smile to form on her lips. It had been a while since the cougar heard him laugh, a month most likely. She liked hearing it.

“Finally,” Was her response, eyes still shut, enjoying he's touches. “She's going to say 'Finally, I thought I would need to lock you two in a room!' Her own gentle laugh followed. Reven loved the Konti.

His lips found her skin once more, laying kisses on her cheek, going lower to her neck, rousing a soft, pleasant noise from her. Pausing, she took in a deep breath to relax herself. The Kelvic was ready to pounce him and right now, she wasn't sure if that was the proper thing to do, especially since he was an Ankal. “Van...” Hands weaved their way into his golden mane, enjoying the soft texture of his hair as she called to him. Reven didn't want him to stop. “There is a lot to learn and talk of... I think that should be first...”

There was fiery passion between them, the bond had exposed that. And it almost made the Kelvic regret her statement. Though, he already had her wrapped around his finger and if he persisted with the caresses, she would have no will to deny him. The more his skin pressed to her, rubbed against her, slid against her, the harder it was to dismiss the need to touch him and allow those emotion to take over.
