Toppe's Traipsing All matters of fabric and sowing are dealt with by the resident seamstress of Mithryn, Mistress Valerie Toppe. The woman's skills are fair and far, her handy work with the needle and thread and talents that encompass a number of fields leaving her skills the kind in avid use day in and day out. However, due to the nature of those in residency in the outpost, and its slight exclusion from the main bastion, the fashion and clothing wear is straightforward. The dull colors and plain cut are only changed for those fine and lavish in times of great ceremony and special occasion, weddings one of the few somewhat often times that Toppe is permitted to use her talents with the pencil and needle to her fullest ability; her keen eye for aesthetics and care for budget allowing her to gather some small renown in the crafting of gowns that border on perfect. The shop itself is lined with simple fabrics, the variation in color little, tending towards earthen tones and duller shades of all colors, a striking number articles of clothing scattered about, each and every one in a different stage of completion ? something due more so to the apprentice's fickle and long work than the Madam's herself. Her work as the seamstress of Mithryn has already stretched well over a decade, her years as an apprentice almost naught in her startling quick taking to the work, the years the girl had spent prior seeing to the mending of her own family's clothing leaving little of base knowledge to be gained. She is firm in her teaching and kind in demeanor, not above tough love and hard lessons for her students to learn in ways that stick and stay with them forever, more so driven by a passion and her love for the work, on one occasion exclaiming 'Gods, dear, do it right or not at all- here, you must be careful, the fabric is delicate. Handle it with care- I'll do it.' Her look and speech to customers is far softer, with gentle looks and careful movements lending the woman an air of careful elegance, and her sweet words and honeyed method of speech allows her to charm coin out of the pockets of those that displease her (Those are, the select few men and women who do not believe in the worth and value of Valerie's obvious skill).   Odessa Name: Odessa Race: Human, Inarta DoB: Summer 37, 498 A.V PoB: Mithryn Outpost, Syliras Skills: 26 Weaving, 26 Sewing, 35 Intimidation, 27 Short bow, 30 Unarmed Combat Gnosis: None Additional Information: A face of freckles and hair a startling red, Odessa is one of Toppe's more striking apprentices. Her age is not something that should be let to fool any, with the girl of wild Inartan blood, her boldness matched only by her wit, and expression of stone as hard as some of the most steel-nerved knights. A dozen stories whirl around how the girl found herself as one of Valerie's apprentices, every look and glare and passing comment - all of which tend to be far harsher than her teacher's - screaming a life and calling that is not one within in a Seamstress' store. One of the most popular tales, and the most 'boring' (And closest to the truth) claim that Odessa damaged a set of clothing bought from the store for her from her mother, some strange venture into the fields the next day causing a rip and tear through the cloth of tremendous measure. Being a harsh woman herself, it is said that it was Odessa's mother that sent the girl to apprentice in the store, supposedly set as some lesson in the labors that the seamstresses bear, with Valerie all too happy to take the girl under her wing and educate her. Odessa will greet any customer with a piercing look and sharp nod, preferring not to speak until spoken to, and offering little more than the slight quirk of her brow and a short wave as means to ask upon sight if aid is required.   Price List Clothes that may be purchased readily in store.
