11th of Summer, 514 AV

There was something different about Adney. Palla couldn't quite put her finger on it, but there was something different about him. She had felt there was something different about her friends, but this was a different sort of different. It's as if... It's weird. I can't explain it. Either way, Palla was excited to see Adney again, and so after work on the 11th of summer, she waited at Semele park.

Palla had taken her dogs for a short jog, and was now waiting for Adney to come. They hadn't agreed on exactly when they would meet, so Palla just went about on her normal routine, taking a shorter jog that usual, and then went to Semele Park.

Palla had brought her backpack, and with it her makeshift towel. She didn't know what exactly they'd be doing, so she wore her makeshift swimsuit under the sundress she had bought at the bazaar, one that was of better quality than the first dress she had bought at the bazaar. Her dogs were acting like rowdy children, jumping up and down and running in the short range the leashes gave them. Palla held the leashes tightly, for she was worried that they would somehow mess up one pf the elements of the park by trampling flowers or the like.

Palla waited, having brought her fishing kit, too, with some meat scraps instead of worms. If they decided to go fishing, Palla thought, it would be better for both of them to use meat rather than living worms, as both her and Adney were pretty squeamish at the thought of sticking hooks into still-living things. Palla probably should have been more clear on what she and Adney would do, instead of bringing some things that she probably didn't need.

"Yes I am so excited I get to see Palla again." Adney began to jump up and down as he was leaving the dock. Adney had never been this excited about seeing someone but Palla was someone different like he never was so curious about a person before. Adney began to walk through the city. Adney looked at the different buildings and then came across a beautiful park Adney then smiled. "So this is what a park is. This is beautiful." There was so many beautiful flowers from red to orange to yellow. Adney began to smell the beautiful flowers. He laughed and began to run around the park. "I love the park." Adney laid on the ground and just relaxed. Adney closed his eyes and began to smell the fresh air.A few chimes went by, Adney got up and looked around there he saw a familiar looking figure. She had black hair and was wearing a sundress. There was even two dogs by her. Adney began to walk closer to see who it was but tried not to seem so obvious.

When he got closer he saw it was Palla. Adney bolted towards her with laughter. "Hey Palla." When Adney got to her he gave her a big hug. "I am so sorry if this makes you feel uncomfortable but one thing you should know is that I am a hugger but if you don't like hugs let me know I won't do it again." Adney smiled but was trying to catch his breath. He looked at the two dogs and knelt down to pet them. "Are these your friends?" Adney saw the backpack and saw the fishing kit. Adney laughed. "So what do you want to do?" Adney jumped around Palla and laughed. "We can walk around, we can go running, we can play with your friends here. Oh I just love the park why didn't you tell me that the park can be so big and beautiful and just so filled with life?"

Adney didn't seem to have any shortage of energy, that was for sure. He ran toward Palla and laughed. He then gave her a hug, and Palla hugged him back until the embrace was broken. She usually didn't like hugs, but for some reason, she didn't mind this time."T-That's fine, Adney. I don't mind." Palla said with a chuckle. Palla wondered why she didn't mind Adney's hug, but decided not to dwell on the thought for long.

Adney petted her dogs and asked if they were her friends. "Y-Yes, these are my companions." Adney was jumping around and laughing, he seemed to be filled to the brim with nervous energy, and very happy, too. "I'm glad you love the park, Adney. I-I thought you would like this, but I didn't imagine you would this much."

"Do you want to go for a run? W-We can go to the beach or something, and if you'd like, we can go swimming. T-The real challenge will be keeping up with these two!" If Adney agreed, she would lengthen her dogs' leashes and guide them out of the park, wearing her backpack and holding her fishing kit in her other hand. Palla would forget her worries and run until she was out of breath, which wouldn't take very long at all, and then wait for Adney if he hadn't matched her pace. If Adney did nothing to stop her, she would do this again and again, until they reached the beach.

Upon arrival, Palla would put her fishing kit down and let her dogs run free, watching and laughing as they jumped around in the surf. Then, she would turn to Adney and ask "W-What do you want to do? Now that we're here, we could go swimming or just play in the sand. W-We could even make sand castles like children." Palla said, giggling at the thought. Palla looked to Adney, wondering what he would say. She had worn a makeshift swimsuit this time, so if Adney wanted to go swimming, Palla would take off her sundress and run into the water as quickly as possible.

"T-That's fine, Adney. I don't mind." Adney smiled ad very huge smile as he looked around the park. "Y-Yes, these are my companions." Adney looked at them with a smile. "What are their names?" Adney was really curious to know of their name. He loved animals a lot and treated them like family rather then just pets.

"I'm glad you love the park, Adney. I-I thought you would like this, but I didn't imagine you would this much." Adney looked at Palla with a shock expression on his face. "Are you kidding now I don't have to feel so bored. I can come to the park now and just relax and enjoy the beautiful world around me." Adney laughed and looked at the flowers again. "Do you want to go for a run? W-We can go to the beach or something, and if you'd like, we can go swimming. T-The real challenge will be keeping up with these two!" Adney smiled and began to laugh. "Alright then let's go." Palla began to lengthen her dog's leashes and began to walk towards the beach. All of a sudden Palla began to run. Adney stopped walking for a second and watched her run. Adney suddenly realized that he stopped walking and began to run to keep up with Palla. "Hey wait up Palla, man you run fast." They finally reach to the beach and Adney suddenly fell to the ground trying to catch his breath. Adney got up and watched Palla put down her fishing kit and let the dogs out of their leash so they can run. Adney walked over to Palla's side and watched the dogs play. Adney began to laugh. Palla looked Adney before she asked. "W-What do you want to do? Now that we're here, we could go swimming or just play in the sand. W-We could even make sand castles like children." Adney smiled when Palla was giggling and looked at the beach. "Well I was thinking we can go swimming first and then when we were down we can play in the sand and um I think you should know I was a sand castle making champion." Adney said trying to sound all cool. After Adney said that Palla took of her sundress. Adney was in shock when he saw Palla wearing a makeshift swimsuit and she took off to the water. Adney was in awe but then came back to reality. "Hold on Palla." Adney took off his shirt and began to run behind her. When Adney got to the water he front flipped into the water. He was came out of the water and began splash Palla hoping that she would splash him back.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention their names. The black one is Midnight and the white one is Purity." Adney looked shocked when Palla said she was surprised he loved the park as much as he did. Palla laughed at his reaction, and watched as he looked at the flowers again.

Palla didn't think that Adney wouldn't be able to keep up, as she didn't think she ran very fast. She laughed when Adney fell to the ground upon reaching the beach and extended a hand to help him up. "Sorry, Adney." Palla said, giggling. If he allowed, she would help him up and lead him to the beach.

When Palla ran to the water, she saw Adney seemingly hesitate. She was about to yell for him to join her when he ran in after her and front flipped into the water. Adney began to splash her. Palla tried to splash him back, all the while making sure her feet touched the sand. She didn't want to drown, or become engulfed in a wave, so she tried to touch the ground while keeping the water up to her armpits.

Waves crashed upon the beach and pushed Palla back towards the beach. Palla half-swam, half-waded back to the deeper water, being self concious and wanting to cover herself up. Suddenly, a big wave rose above Palla's head, enveloping Palla. She rose above the water after being trapped under it for a few moments, and spit out the seawater. Palla rubbed her eyes, all the while kicking her legs to try to find the sand. Eventually, Palla's feet touched the ground, and she sighed in relief.

She then looked to Adney. "T-That was close, huh?" Palla asked, trying to keep her voice even. In reality, though, Palla had been terrified when she thought she may have drowned. I think Adney would've saved me if he thought I was in big trouble, so I was probably being dramatic. Palla hadn't been in major trouble either way, though. She had only been under the water for a few moments.

OOCIt's a pretty crappy post. Next one will be better, hopefully.

"O-Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to mention their names. The black one is Midnight and the white one is Purity." Adney smiled at the two dogs. "Purity and Midnight I like the names. The names definitely represent them. um where did you get them from? I have been thinking of getting some dogs of my own. Well I am planning on getting them as puppies and then raising them." Adney smiled at Palla. When Adney was looking at the flowers he heard Palla laughing. Adney smiled, he was happy to see Palla laughing.

Adney was on the ground trying to catch his breath and heard Palla laughing it made Adney laugh as well. Adney saw Palla coming and she reached out her hand to help him up. "Sorry, Adney." Adney heard her giggling and smiled and took her hand. "It's fine but you can sure run when you want to run." Palla pulled Adney up and he began to dust the sand off of him. Then Palla lead Adney towards the beach.

When Adney splashed Palla, she began to splash him back. Adney could tell that she was making sure not to do anything that would make her drown and he began to smile. The waves started to appear and they pushed Palla towards the beach adney folded his arms watching this while chuckling. Adney watched as Palla tried to swim back to the deeper waters. Suddenly a big wave came and covered Palla. Adney tried to run to help her as she was in the water for a few seconds which worried him since she is not a good swimmer. As he got near her she came back up from under the water and Adney was relieved to see her. He laughed when she spit the saltwater out of her mouth. Adney heard Palla sigh and looked to him. "T-That was close, huh?" Adney nodded nervously. "Yeah it was are you ok? I was going to get you if you weren't coming up but then you came back up and I was really relieved. You had me worried there for a minute." Adney looked around the water and then smiled at Palla. "So how about that sand castle?"

"I-I got my dogs from The Sanctuary. Kavala is the owner of the place, and it's huge. I-I aspire to have accomplished even fractions of what she has. Y-You would think generations of work went into the place, but I think it was all her. I'm amazed at the things she's done. A-Anyways, I'm glad I got them. If you're looking into getting companions, I-I'd see about going to The Sanctuary."

Adney seemed concerned and asked if Palla was okay. It's nice that he's concerned about me."Y-Yes, I'm fine now." Palla replied.

When Adney asked about sand castles, Palla agreed to make some. She got out of the cold water as fast as she could and got to her backpack. She wrapped herself up in her 'towel' and kneeled down in the sand. "H-How are we going to make sand castles?" Palla asked. "W have nothing to make them with."

"I guess we can just make them with our hands." Palla continued. "It can't be that hard, can it?"

Palla proceeded to pick up wet sand with her hands, making it into a ball. She put it on the beach, and made another one, placing it on top of the first. Palla picked pebbles off of the beach and put them in for the mouth. "I-I wish this was in actual snow." Palla mumbled. Then, louder "Does this resemble a snowman? If it was in snow, I could make a really good one."

Palla started to talk about her Morwen-given gifts. "O-One of the Vanthas' racial traits is that they're all marked by Morwen." Palla started. "I'm only marked once. I-I'm completely fine with cold, that's why I hate the summer sometimes. The water may've been cold to you, was it? I-It wasn't for me. If Vantha are protected against the weather in the slightest, they're not prone to things like hypothermia. I-I can manipulate small pieces of ice and snow, and freeze water. It's about...Ten gallons? Yeah, ten gallons.

Palla hoped Adney didn't hate her for possessing a form of magic. Although people didn't seem to mind, Palla really wanted Adney to care about her, for some inexplicable reason. Although she'd only met him a few days ago, she had an odd feeling about Adney. Wether it was good or bad, Palla didn't know, so she decided to explore the feeling by trying to get to know him better. !

Maybe you can help me raise them I don't know much about raising dogs."

"Y-Yes, I'm fine now." Palla replied. Adney smiled and was relieved. "I am glad to here that." When Adney mentioned about making sand castles. Palla agreed and ran back to shore. Adney followed behind Palla. Adney watched Palla run to her bag to get a towel and then put the towel around her. She kneeled down in the sand."H-How are we going to make sand castles?" Palla asked. "We have nothing to make them with." Adney shrugged his soldier but smiled. "I guess we can just make them with our hands." Palla continued. "It can't be that hard, can it?" Adney laughed but looked at the sand. "I sure hope not." Adney began to rub his hands together and put his hands into the sand. He got a handful of sand and threw it onto the ground. He piled the sand together to make it look like a hill. Adney then looked at Palla to see what she was doing.

He saw her grab a handful of wet sand roll into a ball. She sat it down and grabbed more sand to make another ball there she put that one and sat onto the first one. Adney was interested in this and was looking at it rather then his own creation.Adney was awe but heard Palla ask him something. "Does this resemble a snowman? If it was in snow, I could make a really good one."
Adney nodded pretended to know what she was talking about but then shook his head. "To be honest with you I don't know what a snowman or what snow looks like but I have always wanted to see snow though." Adney smiled but was embarrassed as well.

Then Adney listened as Palla started explaining her gifts Adney was really intrigued at what Palla was saying. When most people talk to Adney he gets less interested in the conversation but with Palla it was totally different Adney was so engaged in the conversation and just enjoyed it. "Wow all of that sounds amazing. I must say though because I swim a lot I am pretty use to the cold water it doesn't bother me at all and your ability to control little pieces of ice and snow and to freeze water is incredible I would love to see that some time." Adney laughed and continued making his sand castle even though it wasn't much all he was doing was making a bigger hill. "So Palla…….where are you from?"

Palla watched as Adney made a hill. She smashed her sandman after giving it a look and deciding it looked nothing like a snowman. It was crumbling anyways. Palla built a hill, mimicking what Adney was doing, and tried to make the hill taller and thinner, until it was more of a mountain. She failed at doing so, and the sand kept rolling off of the 'mountain' and back to the ground. It's like a little avalanche

"Y-You've never seen snow? If you stay around until the winter, which I hope you do, you'll see a bit." Palla thought for a moment. "W-Well, it'll probably seem like a lot to you, if you've never seen snow."

"I-I can show you my Ice Reaving gifts. Later, I can make something for you with it, but it'll melt. I can't exactly freeze the ocean." Suddenly, an idea came to Palla. "I have an idea!" Palla dug a hole in the sand and watched as it filled with water. She tapped her gnosis and froze the water. Then, once she had a chunk of ice, Palla concentrated and parts of the ice fell away. She ended up with a small snowman, and placed it in the hole that was filling up with water again. The snowman was melting already, though, and Palla looked to Adney. "A snowman looks kind of like that, but it's made of snow. Snow is white and powdery, unlike ice."

"I grew up in Avanthal. I-It's a city of ice and snow, and it's ruled by Morwen. She seems like a very kind ruler, but I've never actually met her. I-I should've gone." Palla sighed, her eyes gaining a teal tint. "Her castle is open to the public. M-Morwen always makes time for her people."

"What about you, Adney? W-Where are you from?" Palla had told Adney a bit about her, she thought it fair that he would do the same.

Adney smiled as he watched Palla smash her sandman and began to make hill like his but it was taller and thinner. Adney was embarrassed of his hill and tried to make his taller thinner but like Palla's hill the sand was rolling off. Adney kept grabbing more sand to try to fill back the hill but it wasn't working. "Sand why can't you stay still."

"Y-You've never seen snow? If you stay around until the winter, which I hope you do, you'll see a bit." Adney was listening but noticed that she was thinking before she said anything else "W-Well, it'll probably seem like a lot to you, if you've never seen snow." Adney smiled "I would like to see the snow." Adney was quiet and then looked at Palla. "Normally because I am Svefra we tend to only stay in one place for a couple of days and then we would sail away on our boats but I don't know if I want to leave I like Riverfall and is really beautiful here."

"I-I can show you my Ice Reaving gifts. Later, I can make something for you with it, but it'll melt. I can't exactly freeze the ocean." Adney was excited. "That would be cool." Adney looked at his sand hill. "I have an idea!" Adney looked at Palla and watched her as she dug a hole in the ground and then they watched as the water filled up the hole. He watched as she turned the water into ice. Once there was Ice Palla parted the ice away and there was a snowman. Palla placed the snowman into the hole which was getting water in the hole. The snowman was melting slowly. "A snowman looks kind of like that, but it's made of snow. Snow is white and powdery, unlike ice."
Adney was amazed at this power that she possessed. "That is so amazing. It doesn't compare to what my laviku given gift is all I can convert salt water into fresh water so I can pretty much drink salt water if I wanted a drink, I can tell the direction of the sea even on land, and also I can tell whether the tide is going, coming or transitioning in between."

"I grew up in Avanthal. I-It's a city of ice and snow, and it's ruled by Morwen. She seems like a very kind ruler, but I've never actually met her. I-I should've gone." Adney smiled and nodded but Adney noticed that Palla's eyes changed color before she continued talking. "Her castle is open to the public. M-Morwen always makes time for her people." Adney gave out a little chuckle. "Wow Avanthal sounds really beautiful and Morwen does sound like a kind ruler." Adney gave a little smile. "I also have a ruler his name is Laviku the God of the Sea. I haven't met either but I hope someday that I do meet him." Adney began to look at the sky and then fell to the ground and just relaxed.

"What about you, Adney? W-Where are you from?" Adney laughed. "Well to tell you the truth the ocean is my home. I really am not from anywhere. I was born and raised on the boat and me and pod which pretty much is like my family we traveled the seas we have been to places before and we would go and get supplies but then we sail back onto the sea. So I mean I guess you can say that is where i am from." Adney gave a huge smile.
