The Eypharian found herself wandering the old paths she had taken when she last visited the sprawling city. Her deep green eyes scanned the different faces, the somewhat altered stores, and the inns she had once found exciting and frivolous. She still found them exciting, but she had no patience with them. In a way, she was tired of things she had tried before and she wanted something new, something fantastical.
Instead, she'd chosen to find a job in the Bazaar and learn some new, overrated activities she'd not bothered with previously.
With a sigh of boredom, the Eypharian turned her attention to the painted signs of various shops. She had no desire to work as a tailor, fruit vendor, or baker. Her eyes drifted easily from the locations relating to those professions, and then they settled on Qayala's Quill.
A smile curved the Eypharian's painted lips as she loped towards the store, her interest taken by the idea of ink, of colourful liquids that could be scrawled over parchment and in books. She loved colour, revered it. Of all the things she'd remembered of living in Eyktol among her family in Ahnatep, the Eypharian remembered colour the most. Paints, dyes, silks... Colour was her life and her enjoyment, and she could have loved colour had she not devoted her love to her Deities.
She smiled at the man who owned the shop, her green eyes flaring with amusement at such a lovely place to buy and sell ink. She wondered for a moment if he were hiring for work, before she spoke in warm, sweet tones laced with only the faintest of amusement.
"Good afternoon. I was wondering if I could purchase two bottles of that exquisite black ink, one of green, and one of scarlet? And... If it is not too much difficulty, I was wondering if I could perhaps be employed here part time for the afternoons? Perhaps around the lunch hour?" She smiled after speaking, although the smile never truly touched her eyes, which almost always were indifferent.
All the heavens cried when the angels fell.
