Lynx~
Day 40, Summer, 514 AV
Lynx pushed through the door to the Valkalah Library, a place which was quickly becoming like a second home to her, seeing as she did spend quite a bit of time here for her job and reading. She did indeed liked to enjoy reading the many books that there was within the library, provided that she didn’t take any of them out. Which was probably why she spent so much time within their walls, however ever since buying a pair of puppies, she couldn’t spend a great deal of time within these walls, for she wanted to spend as much time as she could with the little puppies. They were important to her, the only companions that she really had to keep her company, to keep her from talking to herself. Well, she talked, just mostly to Leth, occasionally she would tell something to herself of which should have been obvious in the first place, something that the woman already knew but had mistakenly forgotten about it till after something had been done. A habit that she had picked up pretty easily, or so she had noticed, whether it was a habit that she used to have in her previous life was the question.
She lifted a hand to wave at Zandar and Kvanth and a firm nod was given in regards to her presence there in the library. She always addressed the both of them, for she never knew which one was present at the time. Rarely did they exchange words, most of the time, their relationship was a nod and a wave. Akalaks made Lynx nervous at times, but this was one Akalak was one that she did not mind at all. Perhaps it was because of the fact that they rarely talked or because they shared the same passion of books and the need to preserve their words, so then others may set eyes upon them and learn about their important message. Whatever the reason, they had a fairly simple relationship and it was easy enough for the ethaefal. However, she had come into the library upon this day in order to finish copying the book that she had started on the 25th, the day that she had met the other Akalak, in fact now that she thought about, she had neglected to get his name. With a shrug of her shoulders, she went to the back room in order to gather the materials in order to continue on what she had been working on. She had done more copying of the book since that day, but due to only being a novice, it was a slow process and she tired fairly easily. Once she had the materials she needed, the vellum she had copied on so far, a sheet of paper, spare sheets of vellum, a vial of ink, a quill with its nib already cut and ready for use, a pen knife, a drawing board and most of all the book that she was copying. ‘Wysar and Akajia: An Introduction to Riverfall's Gods.’
The book was indeed very fragile and it was handled with care as she collected and brought her gathered items to a desk seated by a window. It was so then light could stream in over her left shoulder and onto her work space, lighting it up so then she could properly see what she was doing. She would hinge the drawing board to the edge of the desk to gain a sloped surface. It was then where she gently placed the book to the left of the drawing board, setting her writing tools to the right of the board. Finally, she placed the blank sheets of vellum upon the drawing board, setting the sheets that she had already copied onto, aside, making sure to keep them in the order that she had copied onto them. She then grasped the sheet of paper and folded it lengthwise and placed it, with a fold across the top, across the sheet of vellum about one inch below the writing line. The corner of the guard was then extended at each side and pinned to the drawing board. Finally, she would then move to seat herself down upon the chair and set about writing guidelines for herself on the blank sheets of vellum.
