76th of Summer, 514 AV
Location: Deep in the Jungle Wilds, close to the Blockade
Time: Evening

There were 10 of them. As Evalin had searched she did not wish to begin with something too large or too small. Test the waters as it were, so the nuit and her familiar had spent quite a deal of time searching for the perfect target. This Fang they found close to the blockade, heading into the Dhani's territory. There were four men and six women. All of the women were equipped with bow of some kind (truthfully Evalin doubted a man could be anything other than a dreadful shot), and with various forms of close range weapons. The men carried either broadswords or a large axe of some kind, big perhaps to show off in front of their women superiors. In any case, it was futile.

Such fools they are to traverse so deep into the jungle... know they not that there are monsters that await them here? Evailn grinned, pointed teeth glistening as she slowly stood to her feet on the branch she had been crouching on. Great black wings stretched out form her back and she now shook them open, awakening her body to prepare for what was to come.

The Familiar floated over her right shoulder, small as a bluejay but much more dangerous to be sure, Be they prepared for a different kind of Monster. he said simply.

Ah yes, indeed. Evalin chuckled and stroked the Familiar's surface. Her eyes followed the Fang's progression through the jungle, the task growing more difficult as the foliage got denser and dense, Get you closer and prepare yourself. The time has come to set fear into the hearts of the Myrians. Let us set our plans in motion."

As my master commands. He said, and then he was off, floating into the brush himself to get closer to the Myrian warriors.

The Immortal then spread her wings, pushing off against the branch to throw herself into the sky. Two nightly flaps and she was going upward, the wind passing by her form as she was set free from the earthly bounds. She was an Immortal, she was a Sorceress. She was... a Goddess, and the poor mortals upon the ground would soon feel her wrath.

Wretched Aura: As a Wretched One Evalin possesses an unnatural aura about her that causes unease in those who get too close. It can come as a prickle of the hair on the back of the neck, a sense of 'wrongness' about her. How people experience it is different depending on their personality and how they handle the unnatural and unknown. Animals tend to become more agitated, more easily sensing how wrong Evalin is and often avoiding contact with her.

Bear your Fangs

Tsenrika passed through the underbrush, swift and silent as he coasted close to the ground, circling around the side of the Fang as it progressed. The man in front cut through the underbrush with his sword, making a path for those behind him. The Fang was well organized, its main archers already in position with arrows knocked. Weapons were drawn, eyes and senses alert for they knew, all of them knew, that where they tread was enemy lands.

Evalin flew overhead, above the treeline where the sky stretched endlessly in every direction. She smiled, stretching her arms out to her side as she hovered in place with powerful strokes of her wings. She was bare this day, nothing to guard her nakedness from the world, but then there was no reason to. Long black hair with streaks of red, teeth filed to points and skins stretched tight over bone. Evalin was a creature of darkness, a monster unlike all others. She was not bound by mortal standards and so such things as clothing were meaningless.

Clapping her hands together her long black nails clinked as they struck one another. Res bleed from between her fingers, growing in mass as she added more and more. The gaseous substance swirled around her hands, coursed up her arms and over her shoulder, wrapping her with power as she looked down toward the ground, What is their position.

There was a flash in Evalin's mind, a world tinted blue as she saw through the eyes of the Irylid. She could see them marching into the jungle, alert for all threats around them... but they would not expect an attack from above. Perfect.

Laughing despite herself Evalin snapped her fingers, her will rippling through the res as sparks began to fly from the collected magic around her. Pulling all of this together Evalin raised her hands over her head, avoiding touching her working wings. THe large ball of electric charged res floated several feet above her and slightly out in front. Closing her eyes Evalin let herself completely fall into the bond of Familiar and Master, finding the Irylid where he lay in hiding up on the ground. She looked through his eyes, and found the point which she wanted to strike and...

Sweeping her hands downward Evalin hissed, "Upon you I cast destruction for the sake of the world. Curse Fate for what is to come, but know that soon even he will fall."

There was a booming of Thunder as the res tilted and spun downward, all of it transforming to lightning at once to streak directly toward the ground in a long arch that set Evalin's hair on end. As she watched through Tsenrika's eyes she saw the Fang pause, sensing the change in air pressure around them. Their hair was also standing on end and they fell closer together, what fools. The bolt struck the ground just a few hands breaths away, electric power arching through the air as it did and striking one woman on her metal arrow tip. The charge arched up her body, setting her teeth to chatter and her body convulsed as her muscles moved on their own. the others scatted then, packing away from the woman who fell into a charred mess upon the ground, her body still twitching though her eyes were burned completely from their sockets.

During this Evailn was already gathering her res around her, pressing it out from every pore of her body to surround her, spinning it faster and faster. As the lightning struck Evalin turned herself toward the ground as well, flapping to pitch herself into a dive into the trees. The res spun around her faster and faster as some was transformed into wind, a cone in front of her used to push aside the trees so that she could see the obstructions before they came right before her face and she could no longer dodge. Over limb, under brush Evalin dove, and as the woman fell from the lightning strike Evailn hissed, "Hakin!" and the rest of the spinning res around her ignited, turning her into a falling ball of flame that crashed into the ground, or at least it looked that way. Before she landed Evalin threw open her wings, catching herself before she crushed herself against the unyielding earth.

Straightening Evalin stood within the spinning veil of flames, hidden from the view of the Myrians, but with Tsenrika she could see them. They had all backed away, pushing closer into the brush with four (two female and two male) circling her. That left 3 females with bows and two males unaccounted for. However, Tsenrika was already searching.

Folding her wings Evalin pulled some res to the surface of her body, around her wings and arms, and from her shield she began to pull back the fire, making it swirl and undulate around her and form a cloak around her body, lighting upon the res that coated her wings and skin giving her a robe of fire in some places, like she was lit aflame by a great power. With a casual wave of her hand the rest of the fire was extinguished, the remaining res coming back to her to slip back into her skin, to be put to use later. Now the Myrians could see her... but what did they think? A flaming woman with great bat wings and teeth filed to points. Eyes a burning red who looked around her with a cold indifference. When her eyes locked with one of the men he unintentionally flinched, and Evalin smiled, "There now, do not fear mortal. Your end shall be swift, of this you may be sure."

Bear your Fangs

Folding her wings so that they pressed closer to her back Evalin looked over her shoulder at one of the women who was eyeing her intently, apparently trying to decide if she should attack or not. Evalin grinned, showing her pointed teeth and chuckled when the Myrain drew the bowstring back. The others around her did the same, preparing to put down this monster who appeared in their midst.

Evalin could feel Tsenrika changing as he moved through the brush. he had grown quite proficient at that form, so much so that it now only took a few ticks to fully become the robed man with blue eyes. It was admirable his swift growth in skill... but then, this was in part due to Evalin's own growth. But she could feel him now, drawing on their power. Through his eyes he saw the actions taking place. The ice forming over his fingers, the woman who had not yet noticed his approach...

During this Evalin was already preparing her res, pulling it out from within her self to hid beneath her wings in sheets. Then the scream went up and all of the Myrians turned in the direction it had come from. In that moment Evalin threw open her wings, sending the res concealed there outward. Stretching her hands out at her side she guided the res toward the two women on either side of her, the res elongating as it came closer before becoming sheathed in ice. Both Myrians gasped as they suddenly found shards of ice sticking from their chests, bows and arrows clattering to the ground forgotten as they clutched at the bloody shirts and fell to the side, struggling for breath as the pieces of ice has surely punctured a lung.

Her legs had bent during the first initiation of the spell and now she threw herself into the air with all the strength her legs had, her wings beating in one powerful stroke that extinguished the rest of the flames as she tiled her body back in an arch, sailing over the arrow let loose by the 3rd woman at the death of her companions. Turning in the air, in an acrobatic feat that even Evalin was surprised she performed, the nuit landed facing the woman who had fired. With a smile Evalin darted forward, using all of the supernatural speed granted to her by Uldr himself, and struck the Myrian across the face, jarring her and causing her to stumble. Wasting no time she grasped the Myrian by the shoulder, pulling her close while opening her mouth wide, sinking pointed teeth into the woman's neck, biting into the soft flesh and through the trachea. Pulling back Evalin released the woman then, letting her fall face first into the dirt, staining the ground red.

She already knew the man was coming. He would have taken the moment when her back was turned to charge, but more than that she could see him through the eyes of her other half. The man was coming forward as Evalin turned back around, his arm raised, expecting to take the Immortal by surprise... but it was the opposite effect. Pushing off with her left foot Evalin dove nearly into the man's chest but stop short, slamming her right fist into his gut and hooking it upward. The ring on her finger was the one of bone she had received at the end of the previous season. A gift of sorts. With it she could charge the djed of the arm it was connected to, increasing its power. She had held its charge for a little under a chime now, so as she struck there was heard the crunch of bone as the ribs of the Myrian folded like they were brittle bark struck by stone thrown by a galeforce wind. His movements completely stilled as his diaphragm collapsed and blood was forced up from his lungs as they were pierced, sputtering out over his lips as he hurrled red over Evalin's shoulder onto the ground, and a bit onto her wings.

Stepping back she let this last one fall to the earth, wiping the blood that had gotten on her shoulder and stepped up onto the dead man's back. From the left Evalin saw movement, but she knew it was of no concern. From the foliage stepped Tsenrika in his human seaming, his hand grasping a fistful of Myrian hair as he dragged the woman toward Evalin.

"The rest have been disposed of." He said, dragging the woman up so that she half crouched, half stood before Evalin. Her eyes were fierce, her mouth formed a snarl, but there was fear in her movements.

"Already?" Evalin had not even noticed, and she was a bit disapointed as she stepped down, walking toward one of the women with ice sticking from her chest, "It seems a pitty for them to die so quickly... It makes for quite the boring tale." Kneeling down Evalin turned the woman's head over, ensuring she was good and dead. Then she pulled upon her res, forming a blade of ice that she jabbed into the woman's forearm, creating a gush of blood which she quickly took between her lips, sucking at the crimson liquid.

The remaining surviving Myrian squirmed, disgust and revulsion showing on her features as she grasped desperately at her hair, trying to pull away but unable to. With an annoyed huff Tsenrika kicked the back of the woman's shin, making her fall forward as he released her hair. Before she could get up however the earth itself moved, creating stone cuffs that hooked around her wrists and ankles, and even her waist, pinning her to the ground. "It was sufficient. This one will still do was we wish her to."

As she finished her drink Evalin licked her lips, now eyeing the Myrian. Standing to her feet she made her way to the woman, crouching down and finally crawling on her hands and knees, her wings folded back, so that she could look the woman in the eye, "Listen well and be thankful for I have chosen to spare your life." The myrian fell still, her brow furrowing as she pieced together the words in common to decipher their meaning, clearly not believing she understood what was said. Evalin laughed and grabbed the woman's chin, forcing her head back at a painful angle so that her eyes squeezed tight with pain and her back arched against their restraints, "Leave you from this place, and run back to your barbarian city and speak of what you have seen. Warn Taloba that Zinrah is rising, and it has unleased upon you all a terrible monster, an Immortal who shall reduce all that you love to ash. Run little one. Run, before I decide to feast upon you as well."

Evalin flicked her hand and stepped away, the stone braces shattering and crumbling. Folding her wings around her Evalin sneered showing her blood stained fangs to the Woman who scrambled to her feet. She cast one look at Tsenrika and back at Evalin before turning to do just as she was told, fleeing into the jungle, back toward the blockade. Back to Taloba.

"The first flare is lit."

Evalin nodded, spreading her wings and looking upward, "Indeed. Now for the other two." With mighty flaps she pushed herself back into the air, once more soaring high over the Jungle and the mortals that lived there. The Goddess was moving, and by her will the very jungle would soon quake with fear.
