Sh'Ky grinned a bit as the Kelvic clutched herself, embarrassed. He supposed he would be too, if his undergarments were showing. However, her embarrassment was nothing, if she just saved herself. "Well, to be fair, you've got to be childish every once in a while. Just be glad it was to me, and not some blowhard street tough with a chip on his shoulder and something to prove." Winking, he took her hand and shook it. "'Ky. 'Ky Ness. And it isn't every day that you see a woman such as yourself turn into a tiger in the middle of the street." Gesturing to the small crowd around him, and then pointing at her, Sh'Ky said, "Y'Know, you made quite the scene back there. Mind taking this somewhere more remote? I think that they're examining some of your... assets." He said this with a knowing grin, hoping that this would get a reaction. When he wasn't working, or generally pissed off, 'Ky was actually quite pleasant to talk to.

Walking down the street, towards the Pig's Foot once more, he looked her over with his peircing blue eyes, asking, "So what exactly caused your troubles with these men? It sounds like it could be quite the story, so why don't ya tell it to me over a drink?" Hopefully, the pretty kelvic would accept. He could use the company today.

A Conversation, and a Shoddy Job of it.

Tara nodded to the idea of taking what seemed to be a sprouting conversation somewhere else. “I don't drink much but, I need to stock up on alcohol.” Anyone who would hear that sentence would have thought that it had sounded like she wanted to buy a whole crate of alcohol and down it by herself. But, in reality she knew how to use certain liquors to clean various wounds and for other medicinal purposes as in knocking a patient out or relaxing them. Naturally Tara slunk up next to 'Ky and they walked towards the tavern.

Silence struck the two for a few ticks as they faced the entrance. To their right where the usual vagabond that smelt as though their clothing and body had not touched water or soap in quite sometime. Upon entering the establishment a few eyes turned and looked but then returned to their conversations. While it was kept up nicely the aroma of strong alcoholic beverages and other bodies wafted into her nostrils. Although it was not a very pleasant smell no one complained about it. Instead they were served and went on about nothing was off. Tara herself did not mind the smell enough to voice her opinion.

Raising his eyes at the tigress' strange statement, Sh'Ky shook his head and laughed, good-naturedly. Apparently, according to her, she didn't drink often. But when she did, it appeared that she drank copious amounts of alcohol. Heh, the Kelvic probably lived outside of Sunberth, the only safe place for someone to get really drunk. Most people were just mildly inebriated, but if they were drunk, they could expect to wake up in a back alley, missing their mizas along with their pants.

As they entered the tavern, Sh'Ky saw Jeremy Longshanks, a tall man, close in height to his own, and a fellow bilker, like Sh'Ky. The only difference was that he was a gambling man, and Sh'Ky just took whatever opportunity that he could. Still, in the loose ring of con men and thieves that Sh'Ky associated himself with, Jeremy was a decent enough fellow. As long as you didn't try to play cards, dice, knucklebones, bet on a brawl, or even wager on the outcome of a drunken man's advances towards a waitress. He rigged everything. But still, that was business, and it was his day off.

As they seated themselves, Sh'Ky accepted the mug that the waitress gave him, taking a long swig of ale. Setting it down on the table, he leaned back, and said, "So you probably live somewhere out of town, then? What brought you into the 'Berth today? And why were those men after ya?" Pointing down at her exposed skin and grinning mischievously, "Aside from the obvious." He said this teasingly, hoping she'd take it as friendly banter. He did want to make amends, after all, and it just wouldn't do to have a 200-pound tigress angry at him.

She couldn't help but blush. There was a gentle smile on her lips. Shifting a little she managed to cover up a little of her revealed skin. As she was about to answer his question a waitress came over to the two. She offered Tara a drink but she turned her down politely. It would be easier to simply purchase the two bottles of liquor as they left. Directing her attention back to Sh'Ky, “I'm a doctor, I often get requests to go to homes and see what I can do for those who do not want to take their loved ones to the.. rather nefarious doctor in this city.”

Placing her elbow on the table and than continuing her short story. “One of their men were injured and lashed out at be for assistance. Of course, they were denied.” Tara had her reasons, one was that she would rather have the people who caused her harm or to others, suffer in pain. After all, they were getting what they dissevered if not more. Shrugging she opened her mouth to ask her own question but a man, unannounced, pulled out a seat at their table and started at Sh'Ky with a devilish smile.

Did they know each other. Than he turned to Tara, "What is such a pretty little woman doing here with this.." His eyes shifted onto the man she was with and then back at her. [i]"you should be with me."[/u] Than, he pushed his boundaries to her standards, taking her hand and kissed the back of her hand. "Jeremy Longshanks." This name was unfamiliar to the Kelvic. Sh'Ky might have known who this man and was comfortable around him but she wasn't. Taking her hand back rather quickly Tara's soft green orbs flashed at Sh'Ky to say or do something.

Nodding once more, he considered her statement. It was possible that the woman had a deeper reason to refuse the men, other than the fact that they had lashed out at her. While the woman was temperamental, but generally pleasant, most of the residents in Sunberth would be disagreeable to her, so she would probably have rejected them for good reason. Smiling back at her, Sh'Ky began to think, This day is actually starting to become a pleasant one! Who'd have expected that, with the start it had? Then, Jeremy came up to them, drunk, and apparently macking on his companion. 'Ky had a mildly annoyed look on his face, as Jeremy had interrupted his conversation, but he didn't really have a problem with him hitting on Tara. He let the slight jibe slide over him, and for the most part sipped his beer docilely. Well, until Tara flashed him a look that said that she was not at all comfortable being hit on by Jeremy. Sighing, he supposed that he'd have to wave the man off, no matter how pleasant a conversationalist he was otherwise.

"Eh, give it a rest, Jemmy, can't you tell she doesn't want to talk to ya right now?" Patting Tara on the hand and giving her a reassuring look, Sh'Ky gave Longshanks a dispassionate look, silently telling him to shove off. Luckily, Jeremy got the hint, and smiled and held his hands up, and backed off. "Ahh, I understand, 'Ky. You don't want ragamuffins like me to disturb this fine lady. I get it." He backed to his usual corner, and began talking emphatically to two men, who were waiting for his return. They rolled a few dice, and returned to their game. Or so he thought. An observant person might catch the two men glancing furtively at the Kelvic, assessing her. Since Jeremy had struck out, well, why couldn't they move in?

'Ky smiled and said, "Well, Jeremy's gone, so now I can ask ya; what kind of work are you used ta doin? Patching up scrapes, givin' people herbs, what?"
